Father and will testify all about me. John 15:26

Romans
Romans 1:4
and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the
power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 1:11
For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow
strong in the Lord.

Romans 2:29
No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not
merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by
the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.

Romans 5:5
And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us,
because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Romans 7:6
But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer
captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter
of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

Romans 8:2
And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from
the power of sin that leads to death.

Romans 8:4
He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who
no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.

Romans 8:5
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who
are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

Romans 8:6
So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting
the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

Romans 8:9
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if
you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have
the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

Romans 8:10
And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin,
the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God.

Romans 8:11
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God
raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this
same Spirit living within you.

Romans 8:13
For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you
put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

Romans 8:14
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
Romans 8:15
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received
God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba,
Father.”

Romans 8:16
For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.

Romans 8:23
And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a
foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and
suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full
rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.

Romans 8:26
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God
wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be
expressed in words.

Romans 8:27
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for
the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

[ God’s Selection of Israel ] With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness.
My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it.

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of
goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because
you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the
Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:16
I am a special messenger from Christ Jesus to you Gentiles. I bring you the Good
News so that I might present you as an acceptable offering to God, made holy by the
Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:19
They were convinced by the power of miraculous signs and wonders and by the power
of God’s Spirit. In this way, I have fully presented the Good News of Christ from
Jerusalem all the way to Illyricum.

Romans 15:27
They were glad to do this because they feel they owe a real debt to them. Since the
Gentiles received the spiritual blessings of the Good News from the believers in
Jerusalem, they feel the least they can do in return is to help them financially.

Romans 15:30
Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in
my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to
you by the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians

Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our
Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:4
And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and
persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:10
But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches
out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can

And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the
wonderful things God has freely given us.

1 Corinthians 2:13
When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom.
Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to
explain spiritual truths.

1 Corinthians 2:14
But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all
sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual
can understand what the Spirit means.

1 Corinthians 2:15
Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be
evaluated by others.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of
God lives in you?

1 Corinthians 4:15
For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you have only
one spiritual father. For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the
Good News to you.

1 Corinthians 5:3
Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though
I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man
1 Corinthians 5:4
in the name of the Lord Jesus. You must call a meeting of the church. I will be present
with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:11
Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you
were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by
the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:17
But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.

1 Corinthians 6:19

was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

1 Corinthians 12:1
[ Spiritual Gifts] Now, dear brothers and sisters, regarding your question about the
special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this.

1 Corinthians 12:3
So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and
no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them
all.
1 Corinthians 12:7
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

1 Corinthians 12:8
To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the
same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge.

1 Corinthians 12:9
The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the
one Spirit gives the gift of healing.

1 Corinthians 12:10
He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to
prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from
the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to
speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is
being said.

1 Corinthians 12:11
It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which
gift each person should have.

1 Corinthians 12:13
Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we
have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:1
[ Tongues and Prophecy ] Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire
the special abilities the Spirit gives—especially the ability to prophesy.

1 Corinthians 14:2
For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since
people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of
the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.

1 Corinthians 14:12
And the same is true for you. Since you are so eager to have the special abilities
the Spirit gives, seek those that will strengthen the whole church.

1 Corinthians 14:14
For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying.

1 Corinthians 14:15
Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I
understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand.

1 Corinthians 14:16
For if you praise God only in the spirit, how can those who don’t understand you
praise God along with you? How can they join you in giving thanks when they don’t
understand what you are saying?

1 Corinthians 14:32
Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can take turns.

1 Corinthians 14:37
If you claim to be a prophet or think you are spiritual, you should recognize that what
I am saying is a command from the Lord himself.

For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.

What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later.

2 Corinthians

and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first
installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
2 Corinthians 3:3
Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you.
This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spiritof the living God. It is
carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:6
He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of
written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the
new covenant, the Spirit gives life.

2 Corinthians 3:8
Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is
giving life?

2 Corinthians 3:17
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:18
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord.
And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed
into his glorious image.

2 Corinthians 4:16
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being
renewed every day.

God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his
Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 6:6
We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by
the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.

to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.

2 Corinthians 7:1
Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from
everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness
because we fear God.

2 Corinthians 7:10
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results
in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks
repentance, results in spiritual death.

2 Corinthians 11:4
You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different
Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received,
or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

2 Corinthians 12:18
When I urged Titus to visit you and sent our other brother with him, did Titus take
advantage of you? No! For we have the same spirit and walk in each other’s steps,
doing things the same way.

2 Corinthians 13:14
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the
Holy Spirit be with you all.

Galatians
Galatians 3:2
Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law
of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message
you heard about Christ.

Galatians 3:3
How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now
trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

Where is that joyful and grateful spirit you felt then? I am sure you would have taken
out your own eyes and given them to me if it had been possible.

But you are now being persecuted by those who want you to keep the law, just as

has promised to us.

you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

your good intentions.

But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of
Moses.

Galatians 5:22
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience,

Amen.
