SUBJECT: Recommended Oil and Oil Change Interval for LP and Gas Engines

MODELS AFFECTED: All Units with LPG and Gasoline Engines

DESCRIPTION: This Parts-Service Gram replaces AF00046R00H to modify the oil

specification (GF-4 or higher was GF-4) and to remove the 250 hour interval
change after the initial oil change (reference maintenance schedule). Please
discard all previous electronic and hard copies of the previous Gram.

Every LPG and gasoline engine has a specific oil weight recommendation and oil
change interval. The specific oil weights listed in the Maintenance Schedule are rated
API SL and ILSAC GF-3 or API SM and ILSAC GF-4 or higher. Use of the specified
engine oils as indicated in the Maintenance Schedule is required for warranty
consideration.

An oil change is required after the first 100 hours of operation and then every specified
hour interval per the Maintenance Schedule or 6 months thereafter. Exceeding the oil
change interval either by hours on the unit or by time can result in increased wear
metals in the oil, lower viscosity and higher oxidation levels. It is very important the
engine oil be changed per the PM schedule.

The warranty may be rendered void if a unit has not been maintained in accordance
with Hyster Company’s recommended published maintenance schedule. The
published maintenance schedule can be found on Hypass Online-Service Manuals
section, Periodic Maintenance manual or in the Operating Manual under the
Maintenance section.
