The topic of the club will be the present perfect tense. In the club, the class is going to be
about the present perfect tense, focusing mostly in the uses of the tense, the structure, and in
the application of differents words that complement it. In the first place, the uses are going to
be explained using a time line in order to get a better comprehension by students, then the
structures, and finally some examples; through the course of the explanations, the use of the
words: for, since and ever are going to be indicated and applied.
Uses:
We can use the present perfect tense in order to express two differents thoughts:
1) We can use it when we want to express a life experience that we had or didn’t have.
In this case we want to focus in the life experience and we don’t want to give
importance to the time in which the experience occurred, therefore in the sentence we
don´t mention the time. So, the life experience must to be:
2) We can use it when we want to talk about an action that started in the past and
continues to the present, or the effect of an action that started in the past and continues
to the present. In this point we often use the words: “for” and “since”, in order to give
extra information about the duration of the action or how long it continue. For is used
to specify the duration of the action, and since is used to express a point in time where
an action started
How to make a statemetn with the present perfect tense:
Negative form: Subject + have/has + not or never + past participle verb + complement
question mark
Examples:
that make it very complicated to learn, among these are: a variety of very specific rules, a
large grouping of past participle verbs, new adverbs that have their own rules, besides of the
multiple forms in which you can use the present perfect tense. The student normally needs to
practice a great deal of time in order to use the present perfect in the correct way without
errors.
On the other hand, the English book of the program teaches to the students the present perfect
tense in a general way but not specifically. The book doesn’t teach the uses of the tense and
the adverbs that in most of the cases we need to use, it only gives us the grammar and a list of
the basic participle verbs. In spite of in the lessons, the teacher presents the present perfect
tense more deeply, the students necessitate practice more the tense in order to get used to it
The students, for those reasons, should have the possibility to access to clubs that the
program offers in which they could understand, learn, and use deeply everything that
encompasses the present perfect tense which includes all of previously mentioned. The
present perfect tense is really important, like the other times, because with it you have the
possibility to express a huge amount of ideas and thoughts that will allow you to establish
beneficial relationships with English speakers around the world, therefore its correct use is
crucial when you want to imply what you think to the people.
In conclusion, the students need to practice more the present perfect tense due to its high
difficulty and the lack of information in the program’s book and in the classes in which it’s
taught, so it is proposed the implementation of the club that aims to teach the present perfect
more specifically and clearly so that the student has the ability to use it at any time without
