FUTURE WILL

1. USO DEL WILL PARA EXPRESAR EL FUTURO:

Future Simple con will es el futuro en inglés que permite expresar:
a. Decisiones espontáneas sobre el futuro, es decir, las acciónes que se llevarán a cabo no
se han planeado con anterioridad al momento presente. Generalmente son promesas,
peticiones u ofrecimientos, entre otros.

b. Predicciones generales basadas en opiniones y no en hechos. Generalmente se

refuerzan con construcciones como I think, I don't think, probably, I'm sure, entre otros.

c. Hechos que serán ciertos en el futuro.

2. ELEMENTOS GRAMATICALES

a. VERBO AUXILIAR TO BE EN FORMA FUTURA (WILL)

b. VERBO PRINCIPAL EN INFINITIVO

Los tiempos de los verbos en infinitivo representan las formas básicas de los
mismos, ya que están en su forma original puesto que no están conjugados en
ningún tiempo verbal.

Esto significa que indican el momento en el cual se realiza la acción, por lo que
los verbos en infinitivo no tienen tiempo, ni persona, ni número, por lo que
requieren de otro verbo para complementarse además de que siempre terminan
en “ar”, “er”, “ir”.

Existen 2 formas de usar el infinitivo, en future will usaremos solo la segunda

forma.

TO + INFINITIVE TO EAT, TO GO, TO WALK

INFINITIVO EAT, GO, WALK

Hay ciertas palabras que nos permiten identificar la intención del hablante de
expresar una opinión o una suposición. Los indicadores de uso más frecuente con
el futuro simple en inglés son:

3. FORMULA DE ORACIONES

a. POSITIVAS:

SUBJECT + WILL + MAIN VERB + COMPLEMENT + .

Ejemplos:

i. Phoebe will take the 3.30 p.m. train.

ii. I’ll eat this steak tomorrow.
iii. He will be in the dentist until late.

b. NEGATIVAS:

SUBJECT + WILL + NOT + MAIN VERB + COMPLEMENT + .

Ejemplo:
i. I won't send the letters until tomorrow. / I will not send the letters until tomorrow
ii. She won’t assist to that party. / She will not assist to that party.
iii. They won’t take turns. / They will not take turns.

4. FORMAS DE PREGUNTAS

a. FORMULA PREGUNTAS DE SI/NO:

WILL + SUBJECT + MAIN VERB + COMPLEMENT + ?

Ejemplos:

i. Will you invite me to have lunch?

Yes, I will invite you to lunch. / No, I won’t invite you to lunch.
ii. Will she be there?
Yes, she’ll be there. / No, she won’t be there.
iii. Will we eat lentils everyday?
Yes, we will lentils everyday. / No, we wont eat lentils everyday.

b. FORMULA DE PREGUNTAS DE INFORMACION

WH WORD + WILL + SUBJECT + MAIN VERB + COMPLEMENT + ?
Ejemplos:
i. How will you cook this burguer?
I will cook it in the oven.
ii. Who will go to the party?
The hole school will go to the party.
iii. What will they do after the graduation?
They will do a trip to tucacas.
