Happiness is a feeling, it is a set of emotions that associates with living fully with a
good health. Happiness is always inside of the people, something that is living day by day
and moment by moment. Hills, Brooks, and Lyubomirsky argue that happiness it's everything
in life, no matter what you have. Hills live in a small house with less and he enjoy more his
life, because he started enjoying his life when his space are small and his life are bigger Hills
point out that “ i have less- and enjoy more. My space is small. My life is big”( Hills 312).
This it's important because you can see the small things that you have around you can make
you life better, bigger, and the most important happy. Also the article by Lyubomirsky
describe happiness like how life it’s good, enjoys, and be possivete, “I use the term happiness
that one's life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile”(Lyubomirsky 184). This it’s important
because happiness makes him recognize how valuable life is also because he recognizes how
he enjoys, as he defines it worth living with happiness. However the article by brook show
us other point of view about happiness he explain how suffering, pain, and difficult time send
you to don't believe in happiness “ difficulty and suffering sends you on a different
course...suffering drags you into yourself” (Brooks 284-285). This it's important because
Brooks argue how people feel in bad moments when they don't believe in happiness also

don't believe in enjoy life and finally they live in a “routine”. The authors put their different
point views about happiness. Happiness is the best way to live a better life because it promises
people to get rid of all the bad things that had happened or suffered, also help people to get
ahead. In addition people can remove all the unnecessary things, and all the materials things
What Suffering Does by David Brooks, Living with Less, A Lot Less by Graham
Hills, and How Happy Are You and Why by Sonja Lyubomirsky. In these three articles The
authors point out how happiness people can be happy without materials things , how they can
enjoy more life, and how people suffering by different type of emotions. These three articles
are similar because the authors relate how material things are not necessary to be a happy in
life, and how a happy life need to be overjoyed and valued. Although these three articles are
different because in Brooks article explain how suffering can guide people to not believe in
happiness.
On the other hand, Hills thinks that for many materials things that people have will
never be enough to be happy because those are momentary things . however, people realize
that it is a better to live without the unnecessary things, and there are more important things
like live a full a full live with happiness and love there is when people live a meaningful life.”
we live in a world of surfeit stuff… for me it took me 155 years, a great love and a lot of
travel to get rid of all the inessential things I had collected an live a bigger, better, richer life
with less”(Hills 308). People things that by traveling or having the most expensive and
luxurious things in the world, they are happy but do not: the true happiness is when nothing
can’t bothers the day, when we learn to live with the littles things that we have now, and we
Castro 3
know that neither all the money in the world or the materials things make people happy
In addition Lyubomirsky, talks about the fountain of happiness can be found in how
you behave, what goals you set every day of your life how it is more important to be happy
now that all the events we have in our lives because we will not depend on a party to be
happy and we will not depend on what we have to know the happiness the happiness always
have to be with us, has to be like our shadow wherever he goes with us,” the average of
happiness of your identical twin is a much more powerful clue to your happiness today than
all the fact and events of your life!”(Lyubomirsky 188”). Although This is important because
if we say that happiness is like our twin you are recognizing that it is the other half of our life
and that it is the most powerful thing that we can always take care of regardless of the factors
However Brooks argue that suffering is needed to change and grow, but happiness
makes you think at the best in good things makes people optimistic in this life also makes
you see that you have good benefits if you are happy, “happiness wants you to think about
maximizing your benefits suffering”(Brooks 284). This is significant for humans because
suffering sometimes bad things that we pass through teach how can we be more powerful,
and this lead people to be happy to overcome not matter what we go through if we are
happy always, people do not know the suffering because happiness makes people a positive
person, are always aware that everything will pass and that good things will come, not to
flood you in suffering nor does it hurt, your alone always leads you to good things.

Other people can argue that happiness does not exist and that it is only a momentary
thing. They can also say that suffering is something that is always there and will never
leave. It is something that happiness cannot fill because happiness only wants you to think
about your benefits. but a person who feels pain cannot think of their benefits when pain
and everything else is stronger also happiness does not make you think that it can happen
after happiness does not prepare you for the bad moments that come does not make you
conscious of everything the bad thing that one day can happen.” Happiness wants you to
think about maximizing your benefits” ( brooks 284). This is important because when
human think only in good things, something that can happen in people life is that people are
not prepared for everything that comes to them and this proves that they never believe
again in happiness; again Other people think that happiness does not exist because
everything is too good and in the real life nothing is as happiness wants you to think
because bad things are coming the soon as possible. In Lyubomirsky article argue that
happiness is a state of mind and is something that people cannot have control about;
Lyubomirsky explains that because you are happy that does not mean that happiness will
not change clear that if it is going to change because it is something in the moment no for
the rest of life. “ but just because you happiness set point cannot be change does mean that
your happiness level cannot be changed” (Lyubomirsky 190). This is important because he
explain The fact that you are happy does not mean that your level does not change and this
says that if a person is happy right now and something bad happens, he will stop being
happy and will not believe in happiness because he was already there and it is not a sure
In conclusion this articles explain how happiness is the best way to live, happiness
offer to us that if we want to have a good life a life of love and peace you do not need to
have money or have many things because this things one day will be there and the other
day this things are gone and the day we just have suffering and despair does, It does not
matter how badly you went there in life or what happened because to have that life that we
want you only need to have happiness, you do not need events or stuff because the only
thing that you always have to carry at any moment is the other half in others
words happiness, and everything will change because everything else passes to an
insignificant term when it recognizes happiness as the other half of our lives. As a person,
you know the true life that is full of a few things but your heart, mind and soul have it all.
Also the authors explain how happiness help to understand the value of life.
