GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTION TO CANDIDATES
1. Qualifications for the post of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor is as
per AICTE Gazette Notifications.
2. The required qualifications/experience/age shall be considered as on closing date of
online application.
3. Ph.D degree shall be mandatory qualification for all candidates to be appointed as
Professors and Associate Professors.
4. # Equivalence for Ph.D is based on publication of FIVE International journal papers, each
journal having a cumulative impact index of not less than 2.0, with incumbent as the main
author and all FIVE publications being in the author’s area of specialization.
5. For an incumbent Assistant Professor, experience at the level of Assistant Professor will
be considered equivalent to experience at the level of Associate Professor, provided the
incumbent Assistant Professor has acquired or acquires Ph.D degree in the relevant
discipline.
6. Experience at Diploma Institutions is also considered equivalent to experience in degree
level institutions at appropriate level and as applicable. However, qualifications as above
shall be mandatory.
7. If a class/division is not awarded, minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be
considered equivalent to first class/division. If a Grade Point System is adopted the CGPA
will be converted into equivalent marks as below:
8. Applicant should refer AICTE guidelines for Academic Performance Indicators (API)
before filling the application form.
9. For the post of Professor and Associate Professor, API score is compulsory to be filled up
or else his/her application will not be considered.
10. The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria for the post.
11. Candidates with requisite qualifications acquired from recognized University /
Institutions can only apply.
12. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a
candidate possesses the same does not entitle him/her for being called for Interview.
14. Two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/ recognized by AICTE/ UGC
shall be treated equivalent to master’s degree in Management/ Administration.
15. The period of time taken by the candidates to acquire M.Phil. and /or Ph.D. Degree shall
not be considered as teaching/ research experience to be claimed for the appointment to
the teaching positions. However, the period of active service spent to pursuing Research
Degree i.e. for acquiring Ph.D. degree simultaneously without taking any kind of leave
may be counted as teaching experience for the purpose of direct recruitment/promotion to
the post of Associate Professor and above as per UGC letter D.O. No. F.17-8/2013 (PS),
Dated: 1st March 2016.
16. For all the mentioned teaching posts, the norms of AICTE, UGC, state government and
University will be applicable from time to time.
17. Reservation of posts shall remain as per Government of Gujarat rules.
18. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines
for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

21. If candidate has obtained any degree from other university than should provide
equivalency criteria for conversion of his/her score either in percentage or class.
22. If candidate hold foreign university’s degree, he/she should produce AIU equivalency
certificate at the time of submission of application.
23. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all posts.
24. Candidates belonging to reservation category (SC/ST/SEBC), physically or visually
Handicapped, Ex-serviceman must attach necessary certificate from the competent
authority of the state. SEBC candidate should furnish the current financial year’s “Non
Creamy Layer Certificate ” in the prescribed performa along with his/her application
form, failing which the candidate will not be entitled to get the benefit of reserved
category. SC, ST and SEBC candidates of origin of Gujarat can only avail the benefit of
reservation.
25. The University shall verify the antecedents and documents submitted by a candidate at
any time, at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case if it is detected
that the documents submitted by the candidate are fake or the candidate has undesirable
clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, his/her
services shall be liable to be terminated.
26. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at
any stage even after the issuance of appointment letter, and /or after appointment, the
University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the
candidate.
27. The University reserves the right to call the candidates for interview whereas applicable
to a reasonable number on the basis of skill/ written/screening exam or on the basis of
higher educational qualification and/or experience. No correspondence will be entertained
with the applicants who were not short-listed to be called for interview.
28. Candidates called for written test/interview shall have to appear at their own cost.
29. Applicant must produce original testimonials, certificates and other documents at the time
of interview, if called.
30. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates' previous record and their overall
performance in the interview. Excellent academic background, high quality publications,
potential to get research funding from Government agencies and industries, appropriate
academic professional activities undertaken and a good innovative teaching record would
be some of the important criteria for selection for the teaching positions. Appointed
teachers may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to
their regular teaching and research.
31. Canvassing in any form on behalf of or by any candidate will disqualify him / her from
being considered.
