First of all, I would like to say thanks to almighty Allah SWT who has given us
strong, mercies and blessing, so we can attend to this program without any
obstacle. Secondly, Sholawat and Salutation be upon our prophet Muhammad
SAW, who has brought us from the darkness to the lightness with full of
cleverness.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Before I start to deliver my speech, I would like to introduce myself. My name is
Niva Sayyida Rohana. I am eleventh grader of Minhajuth Thullab vocational high
school of Pekalongan. I am standing here to deliver my speech entitled “The
Impacts of Technology Development for Our Life”.

Well, Ladies and gentlemen,
The technology development in this era is one of the steps that are made by each
country in the world. The technology development is known as the most
important things which have benefits. One of the benefits that are most visible is
to make us easy in doing communication and work. Both of them are considered
to have value and represent the demands of development era. One of the examples
of the technology developments results in this era is the existence of smartphones
as a tool that makes easy for humans to communicate or work.

Smartphones are technologies that have been developed in this era that provide
convenience in the field of communication and work. However, behind the
benefits that smartphones have, smartphones also have some of negative effects
for it users.

Firstly, smartphone users will be more often faced with their smartphone than
communicating directly with their friends. They will lose their social life that is
because they prefer to the online world that offered by smartphones. Then, people
especially students will be more often rely on smartphone for doing everything.
They will look for information from internet rather than looking for books. People
prefer to learn all of the knowledge from internet rather than experts. In fact, that
is very wrong. One of the examples, when we learn about religion, studying it is
not enough if we just only open Google and search the answers that we have no
knowledge if it is true or not. About it, we should ask to the experts like kiyai or
ustadz who have knowledge in that field. If we only study the religion knowledge
through internet, it is feared that we will lost.

Furthermore, the development of technology in this era, such as the emergence of

the smartphones, it will endanger user, especially for children and teenagers. With
the services that smartphones have, children and teenagers will find it easier to
open negative sites on the internet through their smartphones.

Besides that, if someone is already addicted to the smartphone, he/she will use
most of his/her time to play the smartphone and will be restless if he/she doesn’t
play the smartphone. Then, if he/she uses smartphone in the driving situation, it
will endanger users and the others. Worse, addiction to use smartphone can lead to
criminal acts such as online gambling or even stealing.

Closing
In my opinion, talking about the impacts of technology development is not only
talking about the positive impacts but also we should think about the negative
impacts that it has. We should anticipate the negative impacts of it. We need to
manage our self in order to keep our life from the negative impacts. While, for
parents are recommended to keep and control the children in using smartphone.
The last but not least, we should be smarter to use smartphone. Don’t let our
smartphone be smarter than us! 
