CLEANING AND DISINFECTION POLICY

Clinell Universal Sanitising Wipes are effective against

99.999% of germs and they act as a disinfectant and
detergent wipe for hands, surfaces and equipment. The
wipes are not effective against spores (for example C-
Difficile) so if there is a case on the unit (more likely with
staff or parents / visitors), tristal or anti-sporicidal Clinell
red wipes should be used for cleaning (obtain from ISS /
stores).

Please ensure that 60 seconds is given for the wipes to

work. If after this time detergent is still visible, then the
item can be dried.

Once the item is clean, complete and attach a new yellow

decontamination label.

Follow the guidelines set out in this policy when cleaning

equipment on the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.
