real-world and mathematical problems.

total is given.
 SWBAT use math to compare and understand which choice is more beneficial to choose
as they spend money on short term and long term things.

Differentiation: how to adapt this lesson for

 English learners: I would offer definitions and allow them to take out their dictionaries to
translate in their own language if needed
 Striving Readers: I would allow them to reword the definition for better understanding
and explanation
 Students with Special needs: I would give them simple terms and define it part by part
 Advanced students: I would have them reword the definition and find examples that are
similar
