Dear Members,
Club Officers I want to start by thanking Farid Khouri and his committee on a wonderful and educational evening in April
Mike Caravakis as they hosted The Teachers Exchange Event. It was well attended, and everyone had a great time while

Our House Committee has moved along with improvements around the club, including fixing the plaster

Vice President We are proud to announce the 46th Annual Lebanon-American Club Scholarship Awards to be presented to a
Club member's son or daughter on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at the Amber Room Colonnade. The graduating
Stacey Glynn recipients will be recognized for academic achievement, fine character, and leadership ability. Scholarships
Secretary will be awarded to individuals who plan to pursue higher education and who demonstrate their ability to
achieve academic success. This year so far we have 4 applicants. Invitation have been mailed to members
Randa Antous with deadline for reservations and program book submissions of May 22nd. See page 5 for details as well.

Newsletter The Annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 27, 2019 in downtown Danbury. This will

Hope all had a Holy and Pleasant Easter Season. Activities at the Club as well as our Lebanese and Arab
communities are in high gear with plenty of events either going on or scheduled for future dates. Be sure to read
your Club emails as well as periodically checking the Club website for events, dates and times. Most of these
events, if not all, are posted in this newsletter so read and note carefully. Be sure to note deadlines for responses for
in some cases late responses may incur additional charges for the events. We would like your opinions on the
success or shortcomings of some of the events you attend. Your input can only help those in charge in making each
and every event better.
Mark your calendars for this year’s Lebanon Day, this year’s honorees are the Connecticut and surrounding areas’
Beirut Veterans who served during the early 1980’s in the peace keeping effort. There will be recognition from
local, state, club and even the Lebanese Government honoring these Veterans. Peter DeLucia, one of our own Club
members, is one of the Beirut Vet s to be honored. Check the calendar on the back page and the insert on the
following page (s) for the date and time as well as the cost for the luncheon afterwards at the Club.
Finally, there are still some outstanding Newsletter Ad subscriptions that have not been paid, please do so as soon as
possible, it’s getting late.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, May 21 at 7 pm. Lisa offered to bring desserts and Randa will bring
soda for our next meeting. Hope to see everyone there. This will be our last meeting until September
The Teacher Exchange dinner was on Tues., April 23. It was a lovely evening. The Ladies Auxiliary
donated $300 to this enrichment program.
The Jericho Partnership Prayer Breakfast will be held on May 1st at the Amber Room from 7 am until 9
am. The club has reserved a table. Betty, Ruth, Sandy, Lisa and possibly Mary will attend the breakfast.

The Middle Eastern Buffet benefiting the Scholarship fund will be held Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30 PM.
