Subject: For Your Information: Acceptance of Credit Card Payment for


SLOCPI VUL Funds

We are pleased to announce that starting April 29, 2019, all existing clients of Sun Life of Canada
(Philippines), Inc. (SLOCPI) may now pay their insurance premiums for Variable Unit Linked
products (VUL) through credit card.

This is available for regular pay peso VUL of up to PHP100,000 premium per modal payment via
the following schemes:
1. Over-the-counter at Sun Life’s Client Service Centers (CSC) for new business payment
2. Phone Call for new business payment
3. Auto- Charge Arrangement (ACA) for renewal premium payment

See attached Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for your reference.

Meanwhile, payments for traditional products may still be made through credit card.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
(Acceptance of Credit Card Payment for SLOCPI VUL Funds)

1. What are the VUL products that can be paid via credit card?
Only regular pay Peso VUL products can be paid via credit card.

2. Is there a limit on the amount of premium allowed?


Yes, we only accept payment of up to PHP100,000 per modal payment (monthly, quarterly, semi-
annually, or annually). Monthly mode will only be available after the initial new business payment. If
premium exceeds the limit, client may pay through other payment channels (you may visit
bit.ly/empoweredsunlifer for details).

3. What type of credit card is acceptable?


We accept Visa and Mastercard-powered credit cards.

4. How can I pay using my credit card?


You may pay through the following schemes:

3. Auto-Charge Renewal Payment Fill out the ACA enrolment form and submit to

frequency (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually,

5. Why can’t I pay my renewal premium via Over-the-counter or eMOTO?
We opened the credit card facility for VUL products to make it easy for our valued clients to do business
with us. However, since VUL is an insurance product with investments linked to it, we don’t want our
clients to appear to be investing from credit. Thus, we see the need for Sun Life to trigger the charging
of premiums based on the policy due date rather than client paying anytime.

6. Is Extra Top up allowed?


No. Only regular premium (annual basic premium, rider premium and extra rating premium) and
regularly billed top up are allowed.

7. Can I pay using my Visa or Mastercard-powered debit card?


No, only credit card is allowed. You may use your savings/checking account to pay cash, check, or
online bills payment (you may visit bit.ly/empoweredsunlifer for details).
