1. Description of the electronic calculating and indicating device
1.1 Description
Properties of this electronic calculating and indicating device, mentioned or not, shall not be in conflict with the
Legislation.
This Evaluation Certificate is the positive result of the applied voluntary, modular approach for a component of a
measuring system, as described in WELMEC 8.8.
The complete measuring instrument must be covered by the proper conformity certificates.
This evaluation certificate refers to an electronic calculating and indicating device, Europump R500, intended for
processing the signals from measurement transducers, to be used as a part of a liquid measuring system, in particular
LPG.
The electronic calculating and indicating device is designed to work with Coriolis meters, via mode‐bus
communication, and PD meters, via shaft encoders, and is capable of handling signals representing mass
measurement.

Signals from the associated measurement instruments are converted, stored and transmitted during measurement.
After a delivery is completed, data can be transmitted, unaltered, to a printing device.
The electronic calculating and indicating device is intended to work in an interruptible measuring system. If an error
occurs during delivery, an error message is flashed on the display of the device, and a command to stop delivery is
sent to the delivery system.

1.3 Main standards of reference
‐ OIML R 117‐1: “Dynamic measuring systems for liquids other than water”
‐ Welmec 7.2: “Software Guide” – 2015
1.4 Software
The software fulfills the applicable parts P, T, and S of WELMEC 7.2.
Approved software version is B3.04D (checksum F46643AD, as calculated with CRC 32 algorithm).
This checksum is checked every time the power is turned on and showed on the main screen.

1.5 Essential characteristics
Other than the characteristics reported on the first page of this Evaluation Certificate:
‐ The electronic calculating and indicating device is intended for discontinuous applications (batch applications) in
an interruptible system
‐ The unit of indication is kg (kilogram) or lb (Pound) for mass and L (liter) or gal (us gallon) for volume. Volume is
calculated by the mass meter as well, using its own input for temperature, pressure and density, and its own
conversion method
‐ The unit price of the liquid delivered can be stored in the electronic calculating and indicating device, and it is
used for displaying the amount of the delivery
‐ Legal metrological controlled parameters may be changed only after breaking the seals that prevent the opening
of the case of the device on the rear part and pressing the W&M Calibration button. Any changes in legal
parameters are stored in memory
‐ In case of alarms, the electronic calculating and indicating device stops the measurement, provided the relevant
pumps and/or valves are connected to the device
‐ The electronic calculating and indicating device can store a limited number of transactions. If this is enough for a
period that is accepted by the responsible organization, like a notified body, a printer is not required. If the
storage capacity is not enough for that period than an approved printer is demanded, and each transaction shall
be printed immediately after the end of the delivery
‐ If a printer or logging computer is connected, it communicates either via RS‐232, RS‐485, Wifi or RFID
connections
1.6 Essential shapes
1.6.1 Printed ticket
In application where volume conversion is performed, and a printer is connected, at least the following items are
printed on the ticket:
‐ A unique print‐identification
‐ The volume or mass at metering condition, expressed in SI units
‐ The converted volume, expressed in SI units
‐ An identification of the measured liquid

In application where no volume conversion is performed, and a printer is connected, at least the following items are
printed on the ticket:
‐ A unique print‐identification
‐ The volume or mass at metering condition, expressed in SI units
‐ An identification of the measured liquid
1.6.2 Inscription
‐ The name of the manufacturer is placed on every constituent part of the electronic calculating and indicating
device
‐ The id‐code of this Evaluation Certificate is placed on every constituent part of the electronic calculating and
indicating device
1.7 Seals
For changing the W&M parameters, they must be manually written via the keypad, after pressing the W&M
calibration button.
In order to prevent any unauthorized change to the calibration parameters, the access to the W&M calibration button
is protected by a metallic seal, that blocks the rear part of the case of the electronic calculating and indicating device.

1.8 Integrated equipment and functions not subject to MID requirements
The electronic calculating and indicating device may be connected with any other optional device not essential, which
bears the CE mark in conformity to the applicable directives and which has been approved in the scope of a “EU‐type”
or design Certificate, or for whom has been released a “Test Certificate” by a Notified Body under the directive
2009/23/EC, 2004/22/EC, 2014/31/EU or 2014/32/EU. A peripheral device without a “Test Certificate” or without
reference to a “EU‐type” or design Certificate may be nevertheless installed as long as it only gets data.
2. Condition for conformity assessment
‐ If the electronic calculating and indicating device is applied to a measuring system the seals shall be applied as
described in par. 1.7(Pict. 4 and 5)
‐ Third parties are not allowed to use this document and the companion documentation folder without a written
permission of the owner of this document
3. Test report
An overview of the performed tests is reported in Kiwa Cermet Italia test report no. 1700656ARI.
