History of the •In 1972 a Warrant Officer Company from Fort
Wolters Military Base moved the sign one

Mountain to the east side of Bald Mountain,
Mineral Wells where it remains today.
•Currently, it is lighted with flood lights at its
base.
The sign looks great
when viewed from a
distance. However, up
close it becomes evident
the sign needs work.

IT UP.

Reinforce and ensure structural integrity of the sign.


Apply fresh coats of reflective paint to the sign.


Install LED lights and control to change colors for
holidays and special occasions.


Apply dark paint to sign supports and add dark
windscreen behind sign to enhance visibility.
