I have also left the Class rosters packet and Daily Participation Grade sheets.
Please mark them appropriately.

I have prepared lesson plans and/or activities for the classes. Any necessary
handouts and lessons are located on the podium in front of the class. I trust
that you will find everything in order and that things go well. If there are any
problems or concerns, please contact me or leave me a note. All students know
what is expected when I am gone. Hopefully things will run smoothly.

I normally give DAILY PARTICIPATON GRADES up to 5 points per day IF the student is
on task and not messing around. I know this is somewhat subjective, yet feel very
strongly that work ethics, being on task and following through with expectations
is critical for success in the future. Please feel free to evaluate the students
and give them the grade that you feel represents the effort they put forth during
the period.

I also ask that you let me know which students were absent each day as well.

Please leave me any necessary notes or

comments on this lesson plan sheet or
attach another paper if necessary.

SAE (1st Hour) 7:50- 8:40

No students!!

INTRODUCTION TO AG SCIENCE CLASS (2nd Hour) 8:44 – 9:33

Students will be working on an Arc Welding assignment available in their Google

Classrooms. Students need to work diligently to complete the assignment and submit
it by the end of the day.

Once completed with that, students may work on making corrections on their past
safety tests. These are due Friday and can be turned in on Google Classroom. There
are some students who have no corrections to make, so they may work on other
homework after completing all these things.

I would appreciate it if you are able to tell me who all completed their work and
worked on other homework. Please list them below:

Students who finished all work:

FUNDAMENTALS OF AG SCIENCE CLASS (3rd Hour) 9:37 -10:26

Students need to complete a MIG welding safety test located on their Google
Classroom. Please make sure they are not talking to each other or looking at each
other’s computers. They are good kids and should be no problem.

After completing their test they should also make sure that their AET records are
up to date. They should be updating (completing)their AET Plan, printing it,
signing it and turning it in. There is also a list of things to enter on the board
by the doorway in pink writing.

(Some of the students did not participate in any of those events, so please stress
that they need to complete the planning portion on the AET, print it, sign it, and
turn it in)

They can work on homework once they are completed with all these tasks... very few
should finish.

Students who finished all work:

AG SCIENCE/AG BUSINESS CLASS (4th Hour) 10:30 – 11:19

Students can work on their Proficiency Application on AET, their national

scholarship application, or any other degree application or their record books.
The deadlines are almost here so it is on them to complete everything in a timely
manner.

Bryndon has some work to do in the shop and greenhouse. He is not applying for the
things listed above so he has received instruction on what he should be doing.
Digging holes in the greenhouse, or working on cutting and drilling metal for
table legs.

They should not run out of work to do.

AG MECHANICS CLASS (5th Hour) 11:23 – 12:13

Students can work on their Proficiency Application on AET, their national

scholarship application, or any other degree application or their record books.
The deadlines are almost here so it is on them to complete everything in a timely
manner.

Bryndon, and possibly Jacob, have some work to do in the shop and greenhouse. He
is not applying for the things listed above so he has received instruction on what
he should be doing. Digging holes in the greenhouse, or working on cutting and
drilling metal for table legs.

They should not run out of work to do.

Other students can help in the shop and greenhouse as they finish with
applications and as they choose so.
SECONDARY LUNCH 12:13 – 12:43

All HS Students eat together this year. I have duty in the Quad area which is the
open area with the picnic tables just outside the cafeteria. If it is cold outside
do not feel the need to be outside with the kids. I usually watch through the
window to keep an eye on them. Please monitor that students are behaving
appropriately, take their trays back and pick up after themselves. Things normally
go pretty well for me.

PLANNING PERIOD (6th hour) 12:43 – 1:33

There will be no students during this time.

MS WOOD SHOP (7th hour) 1:37 - 2:26

B group.
Everyone should be present to my knowledge.

This group can prove to be a challenge as it seems that many don’t want to listen
to instructions and get/stay on task. Hopefully, they will do okay for you.

NO ONE SHOULD BE IN THE SHOP!!

Each student should be working on their individual chair design. I have loaded
the expectations on their Google Classroom. Please ask them to go there and get
their assignment. They have worked on this assignment before so you may need to
hand back their designs from the podium.

Please remind them to:

 Make the design fill up the page
 Include what paints or stains they want to use and where
 Remember to include details about background and design colors/stains

They should work toward printing a final copy out to turn in.

If someone chooses to mess around and not get on task send them to Mr. Book and
leave me a message as well.

Please make a list of students who give you trouble:

HS SHOP (8th Hour) 2:30 – 3:20

Gus is a new student this semester in this class and is working on his safety
exams. He should be able to continue with taking them.

Several will attempt to “need to go to the bathroom”. I would suggest NOT letting
them OR give the 3 minutes and they are expected to be back. Tell them they will
be given detention if they can’t make it back in that amount of time.

All students have passed their safety tests and are cleared to go into the shop.
They all have their individual project plans and things to work on.
They have done well thus far and should be good to go. Those that are a little
insecure about using some of the tools will ask for assistance.

IF YOU DON’T FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH THEM IN THE SHOP ON POWER TOOLS DON’T TAKE
THEM. I AM PERFECTLY FINE IF YOU DON’T FEEL SAFE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND THE
STUDENTS KNOW THAT I DON’T ALLOW MESSING AROUND IN THE SHOP!! If they don’t go
into the shop they should go get homework to work on. However, make sure that
everyone is either in the shop or in the classroom. No one should be in the other
area so that it is easier for you to supervise.

Please see that everyone assists in shop clean-up.

Alex Hishinuma and Brynden Wilson should be your “go-to” guys. They are both
pretty good in the shop and working with others.

Please check to see that all computers are shut off at the end of the day.
ALL doors (including the overhead door and all exterior shop doors) should be
checked to see that they are tightly closed and locked.
The door between the hallway and shop should be locked and closed.
The door between the hallway and classroom should be locked and closed as well.

Hopefully everything should go well. If not please do not hesitate to use the
Detention List and inform me of any problems. Please leave me any necessary notes
or comments on THIS lesson plan sheet or attach another sheet of paper if
needed. I know that subbing is not always easy and certainly appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Mr. Rockie Ernst

Mr. Jacob Walter
