SENIOR PROJECT SELF-EVALUATION

Directions: Utilize this worksheet to help evaluate yourself and your project. Be as complete and
descriptive as possible. This self-evaluation should give the scoring team and your teacher a clear
picture of what you accomplished in your project.

Name - Jewel Lee Project Start Date – January 30, 2019

Title of Project - License and Registration, Please? Project Completion Date - April 9th, 2019

1. In 40 words or more describe who your project benefited and how. In other words, what was the
impact of your project? Be specific.

My project benefited students in drivers-ed by providing more instruction and a demonstration on what
happens during a traffic stop. The class taught was also able to go through it from an officer's perspective
as well as what their own perspective would be when they are pulled over. I believe it was able to educate
new drivers as well as coach them on how to go about a traffic stop and when to recognize when it’s going
wrong.

2. In at least 40 words explain how the project challenged you. How was this a stretch for you? Be
honest. If it was not really a stretch for you, explain why you chose not to take the opportunity to
challenge yourself.

I have never went and put something together for a class that wasn't my own. I was challenged because I
had to find a teacher and decide how I was going to actually do a traffic stop simulation, being that my
project idea was born before anything else was even thought up so I had to work backwards.

3. List and then describe 5-8 fundamental ideas/concepts/skills of your project, which you
learned/enhanced during your project. If you cannot think of 5-8, just list and describe what you
can.
● Patience
● Scheduling
● Time management
● Problem-solving
● Communication

4. List and describe 4-8 problems/obstacles/issues you encountered in your project, and briefly
describe how you solved each. If you cannot think of 4-8, just list and describe what you can. If
you did not solve the problem, then tell why.
● I had a problem with scheduling- it was difficult to figure out when i was going to do the
project.
● An issue that I was mostly communicating by email- weren't any face to face interaction.
● I had to wait sometimes days just to get a response back.
● I felt discouraged about doing the project when I found out that the students were doing
health instead of drivers ed- i felt it was pointless to do as they wouldn't care that much
because they are no longer learning about drivers ed.
● I also had to find a new class when I worked out a time that's convenient for everyone else to
arrive to as the teacher I was going to do didn't have a class in that time frame.

5. List all people who helped you on the project and briefly describe the help given.
● Mrs. V helped me through the project by giving me ideas and assistance.
● Maya helped me with my survey and listen to me rant
● Kyree helped me go talk to coach Domanski
● Domanski for letting me use his class
● Hudson for allowing me to use her class and being receptive to the idea of my project.
● Officer Perry for attending and being willing to work with me on it in the past, present, and in the
future.
● And Officer Hall for coming and facilitating the project.

6. How does your completed project compare to the picture you had in mind when you started the
project? Explain the reason behind any changes from your proposal.
I was actually very pleased with how my project turned out. I originally wanted to go in front of the
student board and tell them about what I did and persuade them into doing this in all classes but with
the late scheduling of my project it didn’t really work out. However, I am glad I was able to have a
traffic stop be taught in class.

7. If given the opportunity, explain what you would have done differently now that you speak from
experience?
I would have done my project at an earlier date and done more for a “What happens now” standpoint.
I feel like i could’ve done more.

8. Beyond the project itself, what did you learn about yourself? What did you get out of the experience
in terms of personal growth?

I learned that this is an issue I really feel strongly about. I also learned that I don’t enjoy feeling
“Unsatisfied”- I am unsatisfied in the sense that I feel like I can do more.

9. Reflecting on the total amount of time and effort that you put into this opportunity, and reflecting
on the overall quality of the final product, what grade would you give yourself on the project? Be
honest with yourself! Justify the evaluation of your grade in at least 25 words.
Grade: B+

Justification: I feel like it is a great idea and a really good topic I just think I should’ve done more
advocating for it. It is something that really can happen if the right people are passionate enough to
do it.
