 NDT LEVEL I /LEVEL II EXAMINATION INFORMATIONS
1. Scope of certification Program
The certification programs are conducted by ISNT to evaluate and certify the technical competence of the
personnel engaged in Non Destructive Testing and Evaluation, based on BIS and ASNT certification
schemes.
2. Education and Experience Requirements
Personnel considered for certification examination and certification shall have sufficient education, training
and experience as specified in the certification schemes they are requesting. The requirements of
educational qualification, experience and training for these certification schemes for respective NDT
methods are clearly mentioned in ISNT course calendar.
3. Examination Pattern
The examination consists of three parts, viz.
(a) Written Theory General (Closed book),
(b) Written Specific (specification will be provided),
(c) Hands on Practical in which the proficiency of equipment set up, calibration, testing and evaluation of
given specimen to be shown.
The candidate shall score minimum specified in the individual examinations in addition to the aggregate of
all the three examinations specified by the certification scheme to qualify in the examination.
4. Communication
All the communication related to the examination, such as information about the results will be issued only
in writing from ISNT to the individual or Individual’s Organization and at any cost telephonic or other
communication methods will not be entertained. All correspondence in connection with the examination
should be addressed to the address given in this application format
5. Re Examination
If applicant is not successful in the examination, the same will be intimated by ISNT in writing. The
candidate wish to retake the examination can submit a fresh examination application with all required
information and enclosures along with required examination fee, for the forth coming examination at
his/her convenience. The training undergone for the first examination appeared is considered valid for
further examinations in that method.
6. ISNT Liability
a) The certificate issued for the successful candidates by the Examination Board is only a recognition of
the technical competence of the individual based on the examination performance and does not bind
ISNT for any liability implicit or explicit arising out of the incompetence of the individual during the
actual work of the certified individual.
b) The issued certificate is for the competence of the examination conducted and the employer shall
conduct further examination as required to verify the suitability for their job requirement as specified
in the certificate issued.
c) ISNT reserves the right to alter the “rules and regulations” of the examination, to suit the improved
practice that may be decided time to time by the Examination board.
d) The decision by ISNT is final and binding regarding all matters related to examination.
