Mid--Year Academic Reflection

Seniors
You have finished your senior fall semester and are only a few months away from graduation!
Having had nearly four years of high school, take some time to reflect on your experience.

When I was a freshman I started off rocky like I didn’t know what I was doing half of the time. I
would procrastinate on doing my assignments, which made my grades go down. I was good in all
of classes expect two. Algebra 1 and History were the two most difficult classes for me to pass. I
had to retake Algebra 1 but I passed History. I learned as a student that making time for your
school work is important because it can affect you later on badly like of what happen to me. As a
student I learned how to become more responsible with being on top of things and preparing
myself for college. When I was in Geometry, it was so easy for me to pass that class because the
grading was mainly focused on the notebooks we had. Also my friends helped me out which
made a big impact on my grade. One of the biggest challenges for me was being in Algebra 2
during my senior year because the criteria was very confusing. I felt like that class mentally tried
to challenge me which frustrated me. To be honest I didn’t learn anything in that class but it’s
also my fault for not trying to seek out help. I just wanted to try hard on my own but I learned
that working in groups with my fellow classmates makes a difference. The second biggest
challenge during my senior year was trying to pass my Economics vocab and tests. When I
would study for the vocab test days before I would forget the answers, when I start the test.
Learning about the demand and supply still didn’t make sense to me but I’m passing the class so
far. One of the most rewarding experiences I have had academically was getting good scores on
my time capsule assignments because while doing the assignments I learned more about myself
as a person. A second most rewarding experience that I have had academically was getting a
good grade in a group project because my communication skills have improved.
Portfolio 2018-19

What I need to do during my last semester to accomplish my goals was maintaining my gpo
above a 2.0. I had make time for my essays that my English 4 make us do. I had to ask for help to
finish my community service hours since I was behind. I had to communicate with my teachers
to help me with my homework assignments. I asked my teacher and my counselor for help to
help learn about college are expecting from students. Without the help from my teachers,
counsellor, and friends I wouldn’t had made it this far and for that I’m grateful.
