Orchard Valley Iloilo Farm opened its gates in the year 1999 bringing sweet-scented air at Barangay
Tigum, Pavia Iloilo. A farm that is accessible in the city is a source of nurtured to perfection all-organic
vegetables, fruits, dairy, poultry products and even honey. The farm is humbly divided into an orchard
for a variety of fruit trees, a vegetable plantation, an area for vermicomposting (the use of earthworms
to convert organic waste into fertilizer), a wide pasture land for livestock and a wide colony of coconut
trees.

The farm boasts its credibility as the only certified organic farm in Iloilo. Certified by the Negros Island
Certification Services (NICERT), the first organic certifying body accredited in the Philippines, and duly
recognized as a Private Organic Agriculture Extension Service Provider by the Department of Agriculture.
Orchard Valley Farm passed the standards of the accreditors and now paving its way to officially supply
the best farm products in Iloilo.

A RESPONSIBILITY FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Between the thick forest and the rushing water of Pavia River is a valley of bountiful resources that
answer to the basic needs of the people of Iloilo. Orchard Valley does not only advocate eating healthy,
wellness, and going organic but also purposed to be the major factor for ecological sustainability.

Preserve. The Farm’s advocacy is to take responsibility for the protection of our ecosystem. In organic
farming, feed the soil so it will, in turn, feed the plants. Thus, Orchard Valley engaged in
vermicomposting, a process of producing organic compost from waste materials by utilizing worm
species. The organic compost produced is then made as organic fertilizer for the plants in the farm. Why
preserve? When chemical fertilizers are applied to the soil, this kills off the microbiotics. Nature
provided our soil with microbiotics, which makes the soil fertile and can be considered as a natural
fertilizer. No chemical fertilizer also means healthier soil; a healthy soil means a clean and healthy
ecosystem.

Replenish and enhance. Orchard Valley’s organic farmers believe strongly in working with nature and
not against it. They thrive for stability, ensures crops which do not have any harmful residues and
enterprises methods which are sustainable and maintain harmony with nature. A vision and a mission

AN ORCHARD OF LEARNINGS AND A VALLEY OF EXPERIENCE

As a purveyor of all-organic food in Iloilo, the farm takes part in conveying the craft of organic farming.
That includes everyone even the young ones are Orchard Valley’s reason for passion to contribute
learnings. It took a significant leap in committing to share knowledge, skills, and attitude of being a
professional grower. The farm made all these possible by offering various technical and vocational
training courses. Professional programs such as coffee making and a flagship course and training
program in organic agriculture that covers fundamental topics on organic planting. Those include topics
are vermicomposting, livestock management and other relevant topics as trained by the excellent
agriculturists of Orchard Valley. Farm tours and visits are also scheduled in the farm. Various activities
such as fruit and egg picking, high-grade cow milking, planting, and many more are prepared
wholeheartedly by the organizers of the farm.

With the abundant nature products, Orchard Valley maintained in being consistent in providing value
and unrefined goods of nature. As involved-producers of mother earth, aiming sustainability is essential
