Standard One: Learner Development - The teacher understands how learners grow
and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning and development vary individually
within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas, and
designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning
experiences.

I am placing my Teaching Philosophy Statement under Standard One, Learner

Development, as evidence of my emergent mastery. This artifact belongs under the
mentioned standard because of my understanding of patterns of development and
growth. In the artifact, I mention various philosophers who have done research and
shared their finding about how students learn. I intend to use my understanding of these
techniques in my own classroom eventually. Understanding patterns of students will aid
in designing appropriate learning experiences for them.
