Daily Journal no.

First day of my Field Study on February 8, 2019 is the day when the students
in Compostella Valley State College conduct their FS 2 and to be deploy in every
School, in our section which is BEED 2C we are deployed at Bankerohan
Elementary School and that day is the first day of our observation with my
Cooperating teacher, In that day we are only deployed and we attended their school
orientation together with my buddy.

In that day we have meet all the teachers in Bankerohan Elementary School
and we are assigned to our cooperating teacher. Our cooperating teacher is ma’am
Campion she is very approachable to us and very smiling to their visitors and
students, I’m confident to go inside their classroom because she is very kind teacher,
during my observation she is started to discuss their topics in a math subject and
they have a nice strategies to their learners or students after the discussion she
gave an activity to their students because of their nice strategies the learners is very
easily to catch up or understand the activity of their teachers and they got perfect
score of their activity or every quizzes.

During their discussion they have a very beautiful and attractive Instructional
Material that gave students motivation and not feel sleepy during their discussion.
On that day , we our proud of ourselves because some staffs says that we are
welcome in their school and also the principal of the school is very kind because they
welcome again of us even if still the first day of our Field Study 2.
Daily Journal no. 2

Second day of my observation on February 15, 2019 I’m very excited to meet
my CT but my Cooperating teacher is absent because she practice in dance
competition, so what I did is I transfer in other classroom advisory I asked Ma’am
Entera for me to be accepted by her to conduct my observation in her classroom.
Luckily she accepted me with my buddy, she is very kind teacher.

During my observation she talked all the pre- service teacher in her
classroom and gave some motivation to us. After she shared her experiences she
start to discuss her lesson to the class and her students listen to her and their
teacher present an Instructional Material that attracts the students to catch up easily
the lesson. She has a strategies that students will not be feel the fears to their
teacher and to listen the topic carefully. I want to have more knowledge because it is
very helpful in my career whenever I’ll be a teacher someday.

This day is very meaningful to me because this study allows me to learn

something to be use in my profession. I am very thankful that we conduct a study to
build our skills and to have determination in teaching young generation. I am so
excited to conduct more studies in any field study.
Daily Journal no. 3

This day is Third Day of my FS 2 and another day to observe my CT and to

have an idea of what are their other strategies that students make behave and listen
but suddenly my CT is absent again, so I’m going back to Ma’am Entera and she
welcome us as a pre-service teacher. On that time I observe my cooperating
teacher about the factor on how to understand the students and what is her strategy
during discussions.

During the discussions of our cooperating teacher she ask question by oral
participating and the students attentively participate because they know the topic
and they listen carefully to the teacher. We know that some of the children listen and
the others are not because it is natural in their behavior but their teacher help them
to change their attitude so that they will listen to the discussion .She did good
strategies so that the learners will build their learning or abilities.

This day is good to me because I have learned on how to handle for the
students will participate the class. I also learned that the behavior of the students are
naturally seen in the school environment and I want to learn how to cope and to
adjust with their behavior. I have learned so much for this day.
Daily Journal no. 4

This day is a new treasure for me as a pre-service teacher to improve my

abilities and knowledge. This is my fourth day of FS 2 at Bankerohan Elementary
School, Montevisa. The teacher discuss her new lesson by assigning student
individually by drawing. This activity it makes their day more encouraging because
some of the students like drawing, these strategy is very helpful for them to be active
and always present to the class. The teacher creatively discuss her lesson which
make me realize that I should follow her strategies.

This day is very memorable to me because I have learned something like the
student has different abilities. I am challenge as a future educator on how to improve
their personal skills. Their diversity makes me realize that I must study well for me to
handle their different attitudes.

I hope that this study will be the way to enhance my abilities to perform some
possibilities in the school environment. I always pray to God that he will help me to
be determined in any challenges of my life. I really want to pursue my dreams so that
I can help in changing the future generation society.
Daily Journal no. 5

In all the days in study gain a lot of learning in life. This study is chance in
developing my abilities in teaching. Fifth day of my observation is another day to
come back at Bankerohan Elementary School. This will be the another chance in
our FS 2 as usual the teacher start her class in singing in their daily song so that the
children didn’t feel asleep during the class discussion. The teachers start her lesson
and the students listen properly because they all know that the teacher will ask a
question to test after the discussion.

When the students learn or know the lessons already, the teacher engage
them in groups activities so that all of them can share their ideas and participate to
the class and after that the teacher let the students present their outputs in front, so
that it will boost their confidents to gain more knowledge.

In this day I appreciated the students because they attaintively participated

the class and the teacher was happy that her student was learning by her own
hands. All the hardship was fulfilled with so much learning. She is a good model to
me as a future educator. I want to follow her steps so that I will be effective teacher
someday.
Daily Journal no. 6

This day is the last day of our field Study 2 in Bankerohan Elementary School,
Montevista. Before going to school I did all my household chores and take care my
daughter so that when the schedule of my last day in FS 2 will not be interrupted.
When I am in the school we directly log in to their monitoring book which is
mandatory to their school and after that we directly proceed to my cooperating
teacher, but suddenly she is not around again so I go back to ma’am Entera to
please her that I will be entering her classroom again for an observation. Luckily she
allowed me again.

My task for my last day of observation is to observe my buddy’s

communication skill as well as my cooperating teacher. When I start to observe my
buddy communication skills I observe that she is not totally good in oral
communication and she is so shy when talking to our cooperating teacher but she is
good in written communication. When it comes to my cooperating teacher she
possess all the characteristics and she is good in delivering the lesson to her
students and I really like her strategies in teaching.

This day is so sad because this is our last day to meet my cooperating teacher
and students. I will be missing this kind of environment because it builds me as a
strong individual in pursuing my dreams. I am so thankful to our almighty God for
giving as a chance to be mood and to be a strong individual.

Reflective journal entries

Regarding in the general atmosphere of classroom are good enough for the
learners to learn. It is conducive to their learning. The school uses advance
instructional materials like audio and visual presentation and the teacher is well
trained and professional in handling the school environment. They are also a child
friendly environment because the students are respective and morally trained.

There was a distributing and collecting of materials for instruction, the best
example of this is when the teacher distribute the books, and provide some
instructions to the students. The teacher properly disposed the resources accurately
and collect it after usage. I really like their discipline in taking care of important things
that provides good education.

The teacher has a class schedule for each subject to economize the time and
energy for teaching and learning to their students.

a. Roll call of attendance

 The teacher regularly monitor the attendance of his/her students to
make sure that the students are safety and will not be behind in their
class.
b. Distribution and collection of resource materials and devices such as;
examination papers (quizzes, activity sheets).
 In collecting and distributing their resources they appropriately
disposed and collected the examination papers and some written
activities.
c. Use of resources and materials such as books, apparatus, equipment, etc.
 They carefully use their important materials inside their school they
covered the books and used it properly and the apparatus are well
organized and accessible for the students.
d. Asking and answering questions posed by the teacher or by other students
 They have interaction between the students and the teacher because
they both give value for some information and insight in their thoughts
and opinions.
e. Proper behavior in entering and leaving the classroom
 The students are well trained by the teachers because the teacher
teaches them on how to be respectful to anyone, especially when they
are in the school campus.

My concept on disciplining and maintaining a well manage classroom is to make

pupils behave and listen and they have punishment like reading in front of class if the
pupils are not listening. I will make sure that they will be learning in my disciplinary
actions because this is very important for them to be a good person.

The routine activities that contribute to maintain classroom management is to

have proper sitting arrangement, have a proper segregation of garbage and also
motivate or teach the pupils to have a good moral in any situation.

As I observed the classroom courtesy that could helped maintain the harmonious
relations between pupils and teachers are; the student/pupil must be polite, behave
and following the instructions of the teacher and the teacher must also know their
pupils of what her/his students are. The teacher must know what strategy to handle
the class in any situation and he/she could response the need of their pupils too.

The teacher must be positively responded the learners question. The teacher
respect every questions given by her students. She is very careful in answering the
question because there is a tendency that the students lost their confidence if the is
sharp mouthed in answering the questions. The students respond to the teachers
questions is very respectful and attentively answer the question even if there is no
assurance if there answer is right or wrong.

The two misbehavior I’ve observed from the student/pupil are:

1. Talking while the teacher is discussed in front of them.

2. Quarrel with their classmates.

When the teacher saw that misbehavior of their pupil she do some punishment
like; standing in front after a few minutes and clean the classroom after the class
they cannot go home if they did not do the punishment.

Some pupils are not friendly in the class and make noisy inside the classroom
during discussion. The behavior of the pupils are depends on the situation. If the
pupils are all present is it the time of noisy and if some of the pupils are not around
or absent is it not so noisy.
