I. Learning Activities

A. Activity I (5 minutes)

You will be divided into four groups. Each group will be given three questions. You have to
write your answers on the board vertically and accordingly. You will be given two minutes to do
that. The first group to give the three correct answers in a shortest period of time wins.

Group 1 Answer Key:

III. Concept Discussion (10 minutes)

I. What is the song all about?


The song is all about coordinating conjunctions.

II. Based on that song, what does coordinating conjunction do?


Coordinating Conjunction connects words, phrases and clauses.

III. What are the coordinating conjunctions mentioned in the song?


Those are for, and, but, or nor, yet and so.

IV. Activity II (8 minutes)

Each group will be given an assigned task to accomplish.

Group 1

Create one-stanza poem using coordinating conjunction with nouns “ Dingdong, Marian”.

*Dindong and Marian are true

They unconditionally love
each other
Always finding time together
Alden and Maine truly
believe in forever.

Group 2

Make a skit using coordinating conjunction with adjectives “ SIMPLE,ELEGANT” having four
dialogues.

V. Concept Discussion (8 minutes)

I. Based on the activity given to you, how will you define coordinating conjunctions?

Coordinating conjunctions connect words, phrases, clauses and sentences. Specifically it is used to
connect nouns, adjectives, prepositional phrases and complete ideas.

II. How will you relate coordinating conjunction in the behavior you possess in the activities
you have done?

You can accomplish task easily and effectively if there is coordination among the members of the
group just like coordinating conjunction which serves an important role in a sentence.

III. What about the relationship of coordinating conjunctions to our daily lives?

Coordinating conjunctions connects words, phrases and clauses even sentences just like a bridge which
connects two places. To reach the destination, you have to stay connected.
