Adjusting life as a law student can be difficult.

In addition to new academic

problems, law school often require a different skill as it follows a Socratic method
where there are no lectures or explanations, and you have to be always ready for
recitations. Students are expected to be prepared. Time management is very
important. Law school is not as simple as one plus one equals two, because if that
is the case, then why students are experiencing some difficulties with studying at
one time or another. One of my professors said that law school is like a mistress, it
seeks more of your time, your attention as well as effort. There is nothing more
disastrous than the life of a law student. Learning how to effectively study can be
one of the most difficult skills to learn it requires effort. Understanding course
content can be a challenge. Students commonly have to work harder and stay more
focused to understand course content and perform well

Homesickness has a negative effect in studying especially like me who is far from
home. Poor sleep habits can also be a problem as it will leave you ineffective in
your studies. Sleep deprivation can have negative effects both in one’s physical
and mental health. Some of the students are tempted to skip classes whenever they
feel not ready or did not study their lessons. But I think these problems can be
overcome with time, patience, and persistence. Academic difficulties are often
combinations of problems with the course content, the techniques used
to process the information, and/or personal motivation. Students often struggle to
balance academic demands with work, personal responsibilities and social
experiences.

Limited motivation is a major concern. If you don't have clear goals and an
understanding of why you want to be in law school, your motivation may be
lacking. Like me, until now I still have no definite reason why I am studying in law
school. Unmotivated student like me is less inclined to stay up late to study.
Additionally, struggling students who lack motivation may quickly develop a
feeling of helplessness once they experience failure on test or recitations. Without
sufficient internal drive to achieve, getting through the sheer volume of school load
needed can feel impossible. Being tired and stressed with too much school loads
can affect your motivation. Then you may be interested in other things such as
social Medias. Feeling unmotivated can make every subject boring and students
will not enjoy it for some other reason. I think worrying about failing the subjects
can also be a problem. These causes will lead to procrastination.
Procrastination, the habit of putting tasks off to the last possible minute, can be a
major problem in one’s school life. Working productively can be hard. Often we
procrastinate because we feel too physically and/or emotionally drained to study.

Law School often recommends that students spend six to eight hours of studying.
Sometimes you will find yourself falling behind because you overslept because
you were too disorganized. There are too many distractions. Social media, friends,
phone, television, video games and outings all have a part to play in wreaking
havoc on students’ ability to focus on studying. Even when you’ve eliminated
distractions, concentration can still be a major issue. It’s not just possible but
common to lose focus and experience a dramatic drop in productivity. Sometimes
it’s difficult to remember all the information necessary.

The question is how to overcome these academic problems and how to improve my
study habits?

One of the simplest ways to reduce stress is to take more time for play. Exercise
helps to raise your energy levels and overcome laziness. When your energy is high,
tasks will seem to get easier, and you’ll be less resistant to taking action. I have
read an article which said that the right diet helps, too; for example, eating very
sugary foods for breakfast will cause a temporary sugar rush that will make you
feel active initially, but will soon wear off, leaving you lethargic and unable to
motivate yourself. Finding your purpose is a powerful way to defeat
procrastination problems because you won’t procrastinate on what you love to
do. You need self-discipline. The solution in poor time management habits is to
diagnose the bad habit that’s hurting you and devise a new habit to replace it. I
should be more organized, plans every activities I should do and getting into the
right mindset. A positive mental attitude will go a long way towards helping you
get back on track, whatever study problems you’re experiencing.

Limiting my socialising to weekends, and consider installing a browser app that

stops you going on Facebook, instagram, youtube, twitter or my other favourite
sites for certain periods of time may help too. I think the library would be a good
place to study, where peace and quiet is guaranteed, just avoid using the free wi-fi
too much. The best things I can do is either put my phone on silent, turn off the
alerts and flip it over so that i can’t even SEE them, or just turn the thing off! If it
helps, place the phone out of sight so that you’re not even tempted to check your
messages. If I am unable to concentrate because I have something on my mind, I
just need to try to clear my head before I start my readings, so it will not hinder my
productivity. Also breaking the task down into smaller, w

ill make any task more manageable. Mental exercises can help me in memorizing
necessary information.

Long study makes room for counter productivity; your mind wanders, you feel
sleepy, you become bored, and you’re easily distracted. The most important thing I
can think about how to improve my study habits is to have a balance life. I should
study hard as well as enjoy life. Taking a break from stress and taking care of
myself can help me to develop a good study habits. When you complete a
successful study session, make certain that you reward yourself with fun
activities. Studies said that Plants in general have a natural, comforting effect and
in their presence, humans tend to have a higher pain tolerance and faster recoveries
from hospitalizations. Music, also improves brain function, can help you focus and
also eases pain.
