Class assignment: Visit to the garden

Aim: “to enhance the scientific skills of the child”

Objectives: Children will be able to observe the plants, and will


take interest in nature, they will find differences in plants,
trees, and grass .They will see how leaves are different in
shape and sizes.

Resources: magnifying glass , real plants and trees

Methodology:

Tell children to open page 36.Discuss about garden. Take them


out for the visit of plants and trees. Tell them that about grass,
plant, tree, and bushes.discuss about shapes, colors, and sizes of
leaves.
Ask children to observe the plants and trees and tell them to find
out similiraties and differences. use magnifying glass.

Objectives: children will be able to see the details of the leaves


like veins, shape, stem.

Resources: paper, leaves, colors, pencils

Class assignment: trace out the leaves in copy. See pg no.37

Methodology:

Teacher will show the children how to place , hold and then rub
the pencil or color on the leaf, show print to the children. Let them
do this independently.

Tell them to write few points about leaves in the copy also.

Objectives: “children will be able to understand the names of the


main parts of a plant. Stem, root, flower, bud, leaves

Class assignment: introduction to the main parts of the plant.pg

Resources: real plant, class room display

Methodology:

First write down the date on page no.26.Teacher will show real
plant to the children and she will discuss the names of the parts.
Teacher will also tell their functions.

Root: “roots fix the plant firmly to the ground and also take in
water and mineral salt from the ground.
Stem: “the stem supports the plant as it grows. it holds the roots,
leaves, buds and fowers in place. It also takes water and food to
all parts of plant

Leaves: “leaves of different plant are of different shapes, sizes


and colors. Leaves make food for the plants.

Flowers: flowers have different shape ,sizes, color and scent.


Some flowers are large while others are small that we can hardly
see them. flowers make seeds and new plants grow from these
seeds.

Methodology:

Teacher will draw plant on the board and she will label it also
by asking from children. Tell children to do the same in their
books on pg 27.
