RINGKASAN (SUMMARY)

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a 2030 agenda that

becomes a global framework for sustainable development. One of the sustainable
development goals is to ensure a education and promote prosperity for all people
of all ages. However, Indonesia still has major challenges in solving various
problems in the increasingly complex field of education.

The amount of Physics material students must learn and the demands of an
educational curriculum that requires students to study other subjects can lead to a
lack of mastery of the material. In addition, the time given by schools to study
Physics material is very limited. Mastery of material certainly influences students'
ability to solve Physics problems. The mastery of material that is still low causes
low ability of students to answer questions related to concepts or problems of
physics so that the value of student physics in Palu City is low. Therefore, we
need a media that can realize interactive physics learning and in accordance with
the characteristics of students in this milenial era.

Effective learning media is a learning media that can include absorption

through vision and hearing, one of which is video-based learning media. This
statement is supported by Edgar Dale which states that the ability of human
absorption is 1% in smell, 2.5% in taste, 3.5% in touch, 11% in hearing, and 82%
in vision .

Video is an effective learning media to help the learning process of

students both individually and in groups. Through video students can easily access
virtually the information contained in the video. Videos also add a new dimension
to learning. This is because the characteristics of video technology that can
present moving images accompanied by audio accompany them, so that the level
of retention (absorption and memory) of students towards learning material can
increase significantly if the process of obtaining information is initially greater
through the sense of hearing and vision.
Video Blog (VLOG) is a medium that is currently popular with most
people in the current millennial era. It’s undeniable that children from adults like
to use VLOG. The majority of adolescents (students) currently like to do or make
bilingual VLOG (Video Blogging). VLOG bilingual development is based on
several things.

First, the demand for English as an international language. English is

widely taught in various countries in the world. According to Richards and
Rodger, many residents in various countries use English as a means of
communication in various important international meetings. Mastery of English
becomes very important because almost all global information sources in various
aspects of life use this language.

Second, the trend that puts forward the application of STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math) in the world of education today. The STEM
approach aims to overcome problems in the real world by guiding students'
mindsets like thinking engineers and scientists. Through this STEM, students are
led to become problem solvers, inventors, innovators, build independence, logical
thinking, technology literacy, and are able to connect STEM education to the
world of work. STEM education applies problem-solving based learning that
deliberately places scientific inquiry and the application of mathematics in the
context of designing technology as a form of problem solving. Scientific
investigations are rare in technology education and technology design activities
rarely occur in science classes. But in everyday life, design and scientific inquiry
are routinely applied simultaneously as technical solutions to real world problems.

Therefore, the authors chose to develop learning media in the form of

bilingual VOG (video blogging) which encourages the use of English and also
includes the STEM approach as described previously. So that students are
expected to be interested in participating in physics learning assisted by learning
media that fits their needs in era 4.0 and uses the media they enjoy.
