ANALYZING EVIDENCE

12
Instructions
Examine the evidence on the following slides
and indicate whether or not a chemical
reaction has occurred. You must state the
specific evidence that led to your conclusion.

13
Is this due to a chemical
reaction? Why or Why not?

Answer: It is chemical. Because as time pass

rust
with rain and sun, it makes the iron rusty and dirty and

you won’t be able to change it back.

Over time, these iron

chains rusted.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS
THE FOLLOWING EQUATION REPRESENTS THE
PROCESS OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS IN PLANTS.

6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light C6H12O6 + 6 O2

In words, this equations tells us that 6 molecules of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and 6 molecules of
Water (H2O) combine in the presence of light to form 1 molecule of Glucose (C6H12O6) and 6
molecules of Oxygen (O2).

Is this a chemical Answer: yes. Because it changes into sugar.

Why not?
15
Boiling water
When water boils, it changes
states from liquid to gas.

Answer: yes it is because the liquid evaporates and becomes gas

Is this a chemical and you can’t capture gas to make it back into water.

reaction? Why or You can turn liquid to solid.
why not?

Making ICE-CREAM
The word ice-cream perfectly describes the process by which ice cream is made.
Cream, which is a liquid like milk, is surrounded by ice and churned until the cream
becomes the semi-solid treat you enjoy in the summer!!
