Babri Masjid/Ram Temple Commented [H1]: Mandir

It is an historical fact that numerous temples, in hundreds if not thousands, and especially Those most revered by Hindus were destroyed by
bigoted invaders and Mosques were built on Those very sights. The most outstanding, all located at the highly important religious and pilgrimage
centers of North India, were the temples at Kali Shuri/Srinagar, Sun Temple Martand, Mathura, Kurukshetra, Ayodhya, not to
mention unaccountable others.

Mohmud scribe Al Utbi, in his Tarikh-i-Yamini writes about Mathura “In the center of the city there was a huge and magnificent temple which
the people believe was not built by men, but angels. Any description of the temple either in words, or in pictures would fall short and fail to
convey its beauty;. Mahmud carried back to Ghazni three hundred camel loads of treasures and an idol of Lord Brahma and had it fixed in the
center of stairs leading to the main Mosque in Gazni, so that Muslims could step on it before praying to Allaha. This idol was in exhibition in the
Kabul Museum until late 1980 and was destroyed or looted along with most of the Museum treasure after collapse of the Najibullah
Government. Mahmud of Gazni wrote about the temple of Somnath “If any one wishes to construct a building equal to it, he would not be able
to do so without spending a hundred million dinars (equal to several $100 billion now) and would occupy two hundred years, even though the
most able and experienced workman were employed” Yet he went on to destroy it as a religious act. Was it?

These grand, magnificent and beautiful creations, no doubt some of the finest made by the human civilization were destroyed without any
scruples, and with pride. What would one describe such people who claimed to be the torch bearers of Islam? Were they?

After the destruction of Mathura by Mahmud in 1018, in the year 1150 a Gahadavala King built a Vishnu temple, which had been described as
“brilliant white and touching the clouds” Scribe Abdullah, in the reign of Mugal emperor Jehangir, mentions in Tarikh-i-Daudi, the destruction of
Mathura again and its temples by Delhi Sultan Sikander Lodhi, he had also prohibited Hindus from bathing in the river and shaving of heads on
the banks of the river.

In the reign of Jehangir, in 1618, Raja Veer Singh Deva Bundela of Orchha had built a temple at the cost of thirty three lakhs. Mughal Prince Dara
Shiko, elder brother of Aurangzeb and heir to the Mughal throne, whose elimination was managed by Aurangzeb. Dara Shikoh, who was a
Sanskrit and a Persian Scholar, had several Upanishads translated from Sanskrit to Persian and these were translated into Latin, French and
German and reached the western world because of him. His murder was an ironic twist in the history of this country. His rule could have lead to
harmonious relations and saving of millions of lives and the human sufferings that have taken place since then. And continue to do so till date.
He patronized the Temple at Mathura and donated a railing to the temple. The railing was removed by Mathura’s Governor Abdul Nabi Khan on
order from Aurangzeb, who also built the Jama Masjid on the ruins of other destroyed Hindu temples. He was killed during the Jat rebellion in
1669, but the Jama Masjid was not touched.

1
Aurangzeb attacked Mathura in 1669 and destroyed the Keshavadava temple and built the Shahi Eidgah in its place. And the Hindu psyche was
one again hurt and a small section of the Hindu society is unable to get over it.

According to the Islamic Law a Mosque can only be built on a piece of land legally owned by a person who is the legal owner of the land, which is
not disputed and has not been occupied by force. And the land has not been Can this be disputed by any Mushtahid, an Islamic Scholar or the
Babri Masjid committee?

Was Babur a real Muslim? This is his Makala; “Babur ba aish kosh kai alam dubara naist”
Babur: “Engulf in pleasure as life is but once” He denies rebirth and the Day of Judgment.
Babur was a poet as well. It is him who had said “Agar Janat dar zamant us, amin ast amin st, amin ast” for Kabul, which probably was then a
beautiful region lush green and Kabul River running through the mountains. This is why he wished to be buried there and is.

The Holy Quran’s Surat 6, Al–Anam Hyatt 108 States: “Do not disrespect others religions as they would disrespect yours” When the Quran
prohibits even verbal abuse how can it permit physical abuse?

One question which needs an answer from The BMC; Does the Holy Quran sanction destruction of other places of worship? And building
Mosques on those sights? If a Mosque has been built against the tenets of Islam can Namaz be Rava there? In other words: would prayers at
such a place be acceptable? Talk to simple Muslims and the answer is No. And we have the short sighted ones who claim “once a Mosque
always a Mosque” No matter the Mosque was built against the tenets and true spirit of Islam. And which has been the cause of violence,
slaughter, sufferings unaccountable and will continue to do so, unless the educated and genuine Muslim gather the courage to confront the
ones who are unable to open their minds.

Excavation had taken place in the year 2003 by ASI. Its summary report signifies concrete proof of a temple under the Mosque: The excavation
yielded: “Stone and decorated bricks as well as mutilated sculpture of a divine couple and carved architectural features, including foliage
patterns, doorjamb with semi circular shrine pilaster, broke octagonal shaft of black schist pillar, lotus motif, circular shrine having pranjala
(water shute) in the north and 50 pillars bases in association with a Hugh Structure. No doubt that this temple would have been as grand and
magnificent as the others destroyed.

A Hindu Historian has stated that there is no historical evidence that a Ram Mandir existed at this place. But he says nothing where else it
existed. It’s an assumption but excavation is fact. The excavated items are there to see. Can there be any doubt that the Temple was destroyed
and the Babri Mosque built on its place? Let the educated, informed and the simple Muslim say that Namaz is Rava at such a place..

2
Is there any valid argument, religious, moral, ethical or historical for not letting the temple be built at the site where it stood? Should, not the
educated genuine Muslims come together to raise their voice against those who are unable to understand the harm they are causing to the
Muslim community itself. The fact is the temple will be built at the disputed site, even if the Supreme Court gives a verdict against it, but under
strained relations and unhealthy atmosphere and sadness for majority of Muslims, owing to the lack of proper guidance by the present
leadership. On the other side when it done by changing the constitution, there will be celebrations and belligerence and perhaps mocking which
could lead to another cycle of never ending violence, like in the past and continuation of unhealthy attitudes. Following are figures of sufferings
in the past to be carefully studied;

1. Bhagalpur 1989 Official figures 1000 Killed.

2. Mumbai 12/92-1/93. Official figures 699 Killed. Injured 300.
3.Coimbatore 14/12/98 Official figures 58 Killed.
4. Mumbai 12/3/93 Official figures 257 Killed. Injured 713. Sirikrishna com. 900 Killed Injured 2200
5. Godra 27/2/02 Official figure 100 Killed.
6. Gujrat 28/2/02 Official figures 1270 Killed. Injured 2500. Human rights com. 2000 Killed.
7.Mumbai Train Blasts Official figures 209 Killed Injured 700 ( 11/2/2006 )

A sprit of real brotherhood could set in, if the fundamental leadership on both sides open up their minds and realize what exactly the true spirits
of Islam and Hinduism are? Than the simple and the poor, on either the sides will stop to suffer. During riots do the well to do, the educated, the
leaders, the politicians, the intelligence, reporters, Babri Masjid Committee Wala’s, or the VHP leadership suffer? The clear answer is No a big
No. So they don’t know what the pain is, for them what is important is, it’s their prestige, their future and their standing and ego plays its parts.

Fundamental Muslim leadership has not allowed the community to progress; they first did not allow The Supreme Court Judgment concerning
the Shaw Bano Case, where she was supposed to get Rs.160. a month for herself and her children and with their clout and Congress idiotic act
for the sake of power changed the constitution and opened a Pandora’s Box. And because of it today BJP would do the same in case the SC
verdict is against building the Ram Temple at the disputed sight, though it appears a compromise would take place.

The Fundamental leadership is now apposing SC verdict concerning Triple Talak and the Congress and other so called secular parties are with
them, just for Votes. Has the Congress not been responsible for holding the community from progressing? When it is convenient Muslim fall
back on the constitution and when it suits them Koran and Hades is supreme. Then why don’t the Muslims according to Sharia law cut off hands
of those who steel, this they now accept is not humane, probably because it would be 99% men who would suffer. But, Triple Talak which leads
to the suffering of Daughters, Sisters and Mothers cannot be changed. Heads you lose tails I win. This is the result of closed minds and the tragic

3
part is the aware, educated, well to do Muslim population is not bothered, they are happy living in their comfort zone. Its time they wake up and
fulfill their duty towards the community and the country.

Did not in justice take place when Temples were destroyed? Here is an opportunity to undo all the harm done by simply agreeing voluntarily to
temple be built at the place it should be and gain the good will of Hundreds and Hundreds of Millions of Hindus and its long term positive effects
will be there to see forever. The Temple will be built at the disputed site for sure; the community has only to gain so do it gladly.

Progressive Muslim country Egypt shifted a Mosque for construction of the Aswan Dam. Shifting of Mosques has taken place in other countries
like Iran for Road construction, and probably others for the benefits of the people. Is BMC not aware of this? “Once a Mosque always a
Mosque” is absolutely viable if the Mosque has been built under true Islamic spirit not when it is against Islamic tenets. All Mosques build all
over the world by force are not Hallal and Namaz cannot be Rava.

The BMC wants assurances concerning other Mosques, from whom; “VHP”? Are you willing to trust them? Well and Good. But what happens if
there is a change of leadership? Even if a Law is proclaimed concerning protection of other Mosques with times it can be changed. The only
definite assurance the community can get is from the people of the country. Which will come, it will be ensured after the generous act and the
goodwill gained. But, it would require continued efforts from both sides to promote understanding and goodwill and there is no reason why this
cannot happen.

On the other hand VHP keeping in mind Hinduism lofty essence, which is that different religions are different paths to one realization, the One
Ness of all ‘Raistay allag hai Manzil ak’, than they ought to announce that the Mosque will be built in the vicinity of the Temple. No Hindu
literature has every said that it is the only correct path, unlike Judaism, Christianity and Islam; repeatedly it equates all types of worship as equal:

Gita: ‘Worship me in any form and it will reach me’ Rig Veda: As different rivers start from different parts of the world they all lead into the sea,
Oh Lord, whatever path the humane take lead to thee.

Let Muslims carry bricks for the temple and let Hindus carry bricks for the mosque. Let Hindus distribute Laddos to Muslims in Diwali and Muslim
distribute Kajoor and Savia on Ide. Also announce grand construction of a Gurudwara, a Church, a Buddhist Vihara, a Jain Temple a Bahai
Temple, will be built in Aydhoya with gardens and fountains all along with a grand Museum and concert halls. Make it a pilgrimage city, for the
world to visit and reflect the true spirit of the ancient land.

Have to ask the VHP and the like, why did Hindus allow all those grand temples to be destroyed and sit and cry over them now. Mahmood
Gaznavi, came year after year with a small force passing through several Hindu held and ruled territories. Why he was not challenged and

4
defeated by the Hugh Hindu population in the country? Instead he appointed Hindu Vassal’s in conquered areas who paid him tax was this not
Hindu collaboration in the destruction of the temples. Destruction has been part and parcel of History and the world has to move on, instead of
tying it around your neck and becoming paranoid. The destructions took place centuries ago, call it a crime and the price has to be paid by the
poor and the simple today, were they responsible for what happened centuries ago?

The Mongols headed by Hulagu Khan ravished Baghdad; the cradle of Islam culture and rule, committed numerous atrocities and destroyed its
great treasures including its vast libraries and The House of Wisdom, but eventually accepted Islam. This reflects Islam’s strength.

In the pre Islamic era in what is now Zhemen when Jews were in power they prosecuted and killed Christians and destroyed Churches and when
Christians were in power they prosecuted and killed Jews and destroyed Synagogue, they don’t carry this round their neck and now live in peace
with each other. Jaliawalla Bagh massacre, the British don’t apologize yet we live in peace with them. Then why can’t Hindus and Muslims live in
peace with each other and stop being the laughing stock of the world. Should riots not stop once and for ever.

Hindus grievances concerning forced conversions though valid are exaggerated. The fact is that most conversions were by choice especially
of the down trodden. Islam gave them a life of dignity and self respect from the un-human existence many of whom lived as Hindus,
as per its rotten cast system. Others factors were extensive propagation of the positive side of Islam and the open arms welcome
lead to conversions, which the unaware Hindus fail to understand. And the Muslims in general fail to understand Hinduisms richness
and its complete acceptance of all believes. We need to spread awareness.

In Afghanistan during lunch hour, for example in a shop, the owner, guests rich or poor, even a passerby, the helper, the driver eat
from one bowl, yes own bowl. Islam is the least castes society in this world and the least racist and hence very humane, leaving
aside the other side, Alkaida, Daish, A section of Tailaban, ISI, Jus a Mohammady, Lashkar a Taiba, Auranzeb ect.

Aurangzeb wanted to convert, if he could all Hindus to Islam. He began in Kashmir the safest region where the majority were already
Muslim. Mass conversion of Kashmiri Pandits started taking place and they approached Guru Tegh Bahadur for protection. The Guru
felt said and was in deep though, when 9 years old Gobind Singh walked in and enquired why was the Guru perturbed. The Guru
explained to him the forced conversions taking place in Kashmir and said “They can be saved if a great soul can offer himself as
martyrdom” “Than who is greater than you” said the future Saint-Soldier Guru. He told the them to go and tell the Governor in
Kashmir that they would all accept Islam if their Guru Tegh Bahadur could first be persuaded to do so. Aurangzeb ordered arrest of
the Guru and was taken to Delhi, three disciples accompanied him. Before leaving he ordained nine years old Gobind as the new
Guru, as he know his coming feat. Temptations were offered to convert to Islam as well as threats. First tortured than Bhai Mati Das
was sawed alive in two. Bhai Dayala was made to sit in a boiling couldren. Bhai Sati Das was enveloped in cotton pad and then set
on fire like a torch; he was roasted before the eyes of his mentor. None uttered a cry they died chanting His name. At this Aurangzeb

5
offered another alternative to the Guru: “if you are a man of God, you must work a miracle” The Guru would not purchase his release
the way a juggler earned his living. In the afternoon of November 11 th, 1675 he was beheaded in the presence of thousands at the
spot where the Sees Gunj Grudwara stands in Chandni Chowk to this day. It is said the execution was immediately followed by a
storm, the like of which Delhi had never seen before. Under the cover of blinding storm Bhai Jaita picked up Guru’s sacred head and
dashed to Anandpur Sahib. Than Bhai Lakhi Shah a Government contractor who had access to the Kotwali, picked up the remaining
part of The Guru body and reached his House set it on fire along with the Guru’s holy body, where today stands Gurudwara Rakab
Ganj.

Guru Gobind Singhs two teen aged boys were buried alive by the Governer of Sirhind Nawab Nazir Khan as they had refused to
accept Islam. Killing teen aged innocent boys and most Muslims even the educated claim and believe ther were no forced
conversions.

The lack of understanding between common Hindus and Muslim can be removed with efforts to understand each other. Start with affinities and
the similarities between the two religions. Open minds are needed to understand simple realities, which are based on humane experiences and
thoughts profound and magnificent. Upanishads summary:

“The spiritual unity and solidarity of all existence and revealing the character of the supreme power the eternal Self of Being and the Self of the
Universe as same” Where is the difference between the Upanishads thought and the wonderful, illuminating Sufi concept of “Vehdat ul Wajud”
“Present in all things” “Vehdat ul Shahood” “Seen in all Thing” Is it not the same reality expressed in different beautiful words and expressions
by humans of different beliefs?

Koran : There are different paths for human, you tread your path and keep doing good.

Rig Veda: Truth is one Sage’s call it by different names. The One, without a second. Proclaimed 5,000 years ago.

( But also ) The One, behind the many. (Yet, it is the One. the only One)

Rig Veda: As different rivers start from different parts of the world they all lead into the sea,
Oh Lord, whatever path the humane take lead to thee.

Baba Guru Nanak Dev: God is One, but it can take different forms. (Why can’t it)

Gita; Worship me in any way, it will reach me.

6
Gita: Whosoever offers to Me with devotion, a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water, that offering of love, of the pure at heart I accept.

Worshiping of that supreme reality cannot be confined to one particular way which is miss guidance, all forms of worship have one objective,

Would like to end with these lines:

Ketaben e muqadas mei kaghaz ki parastish nahi hoti, nahi rang e Kalam,
Hoti hai parastish unke aqab mei, aun kudarat ki, unko diye hue Naam se;
ALLAH, WAH GURU. PARAMATMA, GOD
Butt- e- sang ya gil, ki parastish nahi hoti,
Hoti hai parastish unke aqab mei, an kudrat ki, unko diye hue Naam se;
ISHWAR. JESUS, BHUDDHA.

Let the aware, sincere and educated Muslim begin and ensure that there is voluntary offer to build the Ram Mandir at the rightful sight and
similar minded Hindus work to have the Musjid in its vicinity. Though the Mandir will be build where it should as we all know. An opportunity to
gain goodwill and harmony or the poor and the simple will be the losers as ever.

This is an important on and needs special attention, properable some deletions or additions and resetting.

If necessary delay the others.

Quote:

The Dream.

They had a dream for which they sacrificed their everything. Homes, farm lands, shops, properties, work, settled living, family and friends, and
were completely uprooted. Some even lost their children, sisters, parents, relative, and friend’s unaccountable lives. They were part of India
their motherland for generations. They dream was ‘Pakistan’ a land of the pure. They were the Muhagirs the up routed. They were the ones who
suffered the most, lost maximum lives lost everything and were in fact in truth responsible for creation of Pakistan. Not the dominant race
amongst them who are the rulers. They lost nothing instead they occupied and became owners of the properties of the Hindus who left or were
killed, which including farm lands, houses, shops, markets ect. And the one who sacrificed the most after migrating to their land of dreams had
to live in tents with meager supplies for a limited period and then had to fetch on their own and most of them had to live in slums except a few
who had money with them or were able to get some from their kith and kin back home in India but that was rare and could not last long.

For several years they all most all lived in precarious conditions as the economy was not handled well and few jobs were available. Education
facilities were lacking for long; they started with labor intensive jobs and became hawkers or vendors. When industry started to develop than
low paid jobs were there. But owing to lack of education politicians exploited them and unfortunately there were internal clashes and a lot of
bloodshed, besides enmity developed between them and a powerful dominant race the Pathans from the North. What had happened to Islam
and their dream of Pakistan? Could they have ever imagined that their own Muslim brothers in the Pakistan they sacrificed to create would
become the cause of their sufferings. Torture, bloodshed, severe injuries, murder became part of daily life and during the worst period the figure
reported was about seven per week by the Police in Karachi. They had no choice but to retaliate to survive, but what happened to the Pakistan
dream why was there so much of sufferings. Because, “Race” is the force in Pakistan, and not Islam.

With sheer grit and hard work economic conditions have improved but still they are at the lower part of the pyramid, if not the bottom. Except
for those who were educated or had arrived with money and opened business, and a lot of them have accepted their fate of misery and penury.

Meeting someone from India made many of them happy. They went out of their way to help whether working as Railway employ, a Hockey
Player of national level, a top level exertive in a business organization, a musician, or the son of a Nawab and even a Police constable. They
would not say so in clear words but did convey in several ways, especially when talking about the good days, that it was a mistake, but did not
say so and not all of them though so.

8
Baluchies, the other simple but brave community who were not willing to accept domination and wanted equal opportunities and rights and
were willing to fight for it. They faced torture, disappearances, and extrajudicial killings. Besides active opponents even if there were slight
suspicions students, lawyers, taxi drivers, farmer, and journalists for sure, including ordinary people, none were spared, picked, tortured,
mutilated and dumped. The Guardian newspaper reported that several Human Rights Groups reported, included Amnesty International, had
documents of “more than Hundred mutilated bodies’ with signs of torture were found dumped” Those murdered after abduction were
estimated at more than 2000. The Gaurdian newspaper had said that civilian killings is Balouchistan are “burried quietly on the inside pages,
clocked in euphemism or, quiet often, not published at all” Journalist Ahmed Rashid wrties that “so many journalists have been killed ib
Balouchistan “that” journalist are too scared” to cover the issue. Estimates of families of abducted Balouchs, as reported by The Baloch Republican party was more
than 10,000. The Frontier Corps and ISI were running the show and ISI has to answer to no one they are the power in themselves is known to all.

That the real sprit of Islam is lacking in Pakistan is evident. The persecution of Shia Muslims, Ahamadis, Christians, Hindus and the Sufis, is well known. The worst suffers
are Shia’s who are mostly attacked when praying in Mosques and they do retaliate in a similar manner but are unable to match the Sunni ferocity. Ahamadis who are a
smaller number are absolutely helpless, they are attacked without a reason; children, women, the elderly and even expectant mothers have not been spared, what a
country? On November 10, 2014 as reported in the City Dawn, A Christian couple, wife was 4 months pregnant working at a Brick Kiln demanded their unpaid due,
argument erupted and the owner suddenly blamed them of blasphemy. Soon a large crowd gathered they were severely brutalized by who ever could get their hands on
them and then burnt alive in the brick kiln. Hindus live in constant fear especially in rural Sind, as per reports about 5000 Hindus are converted yearly by either coercion or
force, several hundred Hindu Girls are abducted and converted to Islam each year. A Pakistan Muslim Leaque politician has stated that abduction of Hindus and Sikhs is a
business in Pakistan, along with conversions of Hindus to Islam..The terrorist’s attack of the Shahbaz Kalandar Shrine and killing of 90 innocent people including several
children and injuring 300 is a chilling reminder as to what could happen to any group of people who may want to practice their beliefs which is not the same as the ruling
majority. Where would Kashmeres who believes in Sufi Shrines and its concepts, fit into the religious intolerance and bigotry in present day Pakistan?

Would like Muslim Brothers in Kashmir and the rest of India to think why never ever in the last about a thousand year not a single Muslim Girl has ever been abducted and
forced to convert to Hinduism. And why there is no Sunni/Shai conflict in India. Why Ahmadias, Bohras, Zorastrians, Bahais, Jews have never been prosecuted in India
before or after partition. Christians have complains now owing to highhandedness of a hand full of people bolstered by the present atmosphere in the country, which will not
last. But covert conversion attempts must come to an end. As far as the conflict between right wing Hindus and fundamentalists Muslims it’s is a long and complex story in
itself, which could be resolved if Muslims take sensible steps concerning Babri Masjid conflict and respect Hindu sentiments about cow slaughter, specially where law is
applicable with regard to cow slaughter.

Keeping the minorities aside, what happened to the majority community who numbered more than the dominant forces? Who had legally won
elections but how the arrogant, dominating forces could agree to hand over power to the people they though and really believed were inferior
to them. When the Pakistanis realized that they could no longer dictate there terms on the people of East Bengal, they decided to subjugate
them by force. Major General Farman Ali had written in his diary “Green Land of East Pakistan will be painted red” Meanwhile non violent
protests had started taking place in Dacca and General Tikka Khan know as the “ Baloch Butcher” was posted in Dacca to teach some lessons to
the people belonging to their one country then. He had come with a mandate from General Yahya Khan, who had said ‘Kill three Million of them
and the rest will eat out of your hand’ Tikka Khan orders to his troops were “I want the land and not the people” This is mentioned in the book
written by General Amir Abdula Khan NIazi “ Betrayal of Pakistan” after their defeat.

9
Army and the Politicians decided to first destroy the cradle of protests in Dacca University. On the night of 25th March, 1971 the Army
commenced operations with full ferocity and unspeakable cruelty against professors, students and intellectuals named in the list already
prepared. Thousands of unaccountable intellectuals mercilessly Murdered. Bhutto, who was part of this conspiracy, staying in the Dacca,
Intercontinental Hotel, saw the rising flames, returned to Karachi next day morning and gave a statement at the Airport “By the Grace of God
Pakistan is saved” That is what he thought that by killing professors, students and intellectuals of Bengal, Pakistan was saved. It was not only the
cruelty of the Army alone, though they broke all human laws, the politicians were with them. Does this not potray the basis inhumane character
of Pakistani leaders then.

Protests took place all over the land and none was spared. Massacre, destruction and rape became common place and within a few days, it
turned into full scale genocide, perpetrated by the army on its own citizens, rare in History. Millions were butchered. These are Historical facts
know all over the world and those who do not believe this should go to Dacca and talk to the people and the Government there.

There have been genocides all through history but there is probably never ever a countries ruling power have committed such atrocities on their
own people having the same faith. What a shame? They crossed all limits used rape as an instrument to teach them a lesson; it cannot happen
without sanction from the top. General Niazi the Commander, who replaced Tikka Khan, had said ‘you cannot expect a man to live, fight and die
in East Pakistan and go to Jhelum for sex would you?’ Susan Bronwmiller a writer who travelled all over Bangladesh wrote in her book, “Against
our will: Men, Women and Rape” observed that “Between One to Two Million women were raped over a period of nine months, Girls of eight
and Grand Mothers of seventy five had been sexually exploited, assaulted, they abducted tens of hundreds and held them by force in their
Military barracks for nightly use” Have you heard of such decadent, barbaric, un human, behavior in the recent history of the world?

Over a Million refugees fled to India and were increasing by the day and would never have stopped if India just took no steps to stop it. India
started helping and training the Mukti Bhani ( To check proper name ), which was mostly formed by the deserted Troops from the units of East
Pakistan Rifles and the East Bengal Regiment lead by Colonel “Tiger” Osmani. They became a force to reckon with. India with consent of world
leaders except USA, prepared to end the genocide and peace to return and so that the Million of refugees return to their home lands as India
could not bear the burden of such large numbers of refugees which would have continued to increase, we have more than enough people of our
own.

Meanwhile their drunkard Commander in Chief, who was known to drink half a bottle of his favorite Scotch Whiskey Black Dog every evening,
must have drunk a Bottle the night before 3rd December 1971 and ordered a pre-emptive air strike against some forward Indian Air basis in
Punjab, Rajasthan and J&K but could cause no harm. Instead of using his own brains he copied the action from Israeli who had destroyed most
of Egyptian Air Force, in a similar attack. On 6th December 1971, India opened front both in the Easy and the West part of Pakistan.. Their
Generals, who use to claim that their one soldier was equal to ten Indian soldiers, were proved the other way. They lost the war in just 13 days,
just 13 days. And the entire Army Brass with 93,000 soldiers surrenders officially, this also a rare historical event. The main reason they lost the
war in 13 days was because they could not match the brilliance, dedication and knowledge of our Generals. They used their brains to commit

10
genocide but none for warfare. All warfare starts in the minds of the senior and this factor is very important in winning battles. But, will they
ever acknowledge this fact?

What is the strength of the Indian Army, not only proper training at all levels but the procedure of selection. The best of the best reach the top,
no political backing or selection because of connections, its merit based on knowledge, mental and moral strength, intelligence and past
performance that counts. Who was the Indian Army Commander in chief; General ( Later Field Marshal ) Sam Mankshah a Parsi, The Chief of
Staff ; Lieutenant General . J.R. Jacob a Jew, yes a Jew, and The Commander on the field Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora a Sikh. Soldiers
from all over India not just a few regions, unlike Pakistan the Army of which comprises mainly of its ruling ‘Race’ We have Hindus, Muslims,
Sikhs, Parses, Christens, Buddhists, Tribal’s in the Army and this is our strength. Besides valor, bravery and disciple of our soldiers, let’s talk about
morals, ethics and manliness of our Army. India did not disarm the 93,000 Pakistani soldiers, because they had surrendered to a nation who
keeps its word. If India had disarmed their soldiers, each and every one of them would have been slaughtered by the people of Bangladesh, who
had suffered like no other race in modern history. I am sure the Bengali gentlemen would never have touched any women from Pakistan, leave
aside rape. But these Baigarat Pakistani Generals give orders to their soldiers to torture and mutilate our soldiers captured alive and even
mutilate our dead soldiers, this is the mentality of the Pakistan Army. While when Pakistan refuse to accept bodies of their so claimed no state
actors, India buried them with honor and proper Islamic rights. This is the difference between us and the cowards. These are the people from
whom some leaders in Kashmir seek directions from.

The situation in Kashmir is complex most of the people have been alienated but there are plenty who wish violence to end. Severe mistakes have
been committed by the administration and the use of pellet guns has caused lifelong sufferings and the worst part being the children who have
been hit and have lost their eyesight partially and what a tragedy for those who have lost their eyesight for ever. The J&K Police has their own
version as to why it took place and when they feel that their lives are in danger than they do react with force, it happens all over the world. This
is not to absolve the Security forces of the tragedies which took place at Lal Chowk, Sopore, Gawkadal and Bijbehara, which should have been
handled with restrain and these were no less than blatant Human right violations by the security forces and the worst part is no proper
investigations took place to punish defaulters. The wonder is why other methods of control like Rubber Bullets, water cannon, tear gas shells
were not used?.

Recently security forces have shown restrain against stone palters even after being hit but some day someone may lose its cool and react and
then there will be hue and cry.

You have crowds gathering to protect the armed who are fighting the security forces who may kill or get killed. But, where was Kashmiri
conscious when over 350 Hindus over a period of two years were mercilessly slaughters, woman, children, mothers, sisters, daughters and the
elderly, even expectant mothers and babies were not spared. All living as neighbor’s for generations, whom the Muslims once considered, to be
as their Sisters, Brothers, Daughter in Laws and even Mothers. This massacre was even worse than what happened in Bangladesh, there the
security forces killed mostly men, not children, babies or mothers. What had happened to Kashmiriat and the Kashmiri conscious? And note, not

11
one Kashmiri Muslim was harmed in the rest of India, not one even slapped, even by those who had lost their children in Kashmir. Here is the
difference.

Neither was there any condemnation of these heinous crimes by any Muslim organization in India. And how they grieve when even one of them
is killed, which is not being justified, and the cover it gets by our hypocritical press, hypocritical politicians and the hypocritical liberals. How
many politicians, journalists, writers and liberals visited families of slaughtered Kashmiri Hindus? What had happened to the conscious of the
intellectuals who are now crying hoarse about present atmosphere in the country and the few killings that have taken place? Basically, there is a
deep psychological problem in the Hindu mind in this regard to be discussed at some other forum.

The first slaughter of Hindus, men, women, children and babies took place at Wandhama on 25/1/1998 was executed by LeT men, it could not
have happened without the sanction/knowledge of ISI, and the Hurriat. In fact one of them was the real promoter of hatred against Hindus and
should be hanged for the slaughter of Hindus. That was the time to hit Pakistan hard and take proper action against the Hurriat as the slaughter
of Hindus had their sanction, otherwise why Kashmir was not closed even for a day. Why no hartal announced, had any Kashmiri Pandit harmed
any Muslim anywhere? Did they even pelt a stone? Action against Pakistan not because Hindus were killed, it should have come because it was
cold blooded murder of the innocent of the country. If proper action had been taken at that time the story would have been different in Kashmir
today, besides saving of unaccountable lives. But, we had cowards ruling at the centre. In fact India should have hit Pakistan on its first
supported terror attack. Instead we went around telling the world look what Pakistan is doing to us and looking for sympathy. Now, make it
clear to them one more wrong step and you will get it real hard and be prepared to do it and you will see the results. That’s what history teaches
you.

Peace has to return to Kashmir, its people have suffered since long hope sense will prevail and Pakistan ensure there are no more terror attacks,
Hurriat plays its part in a mature manner and tell Pakistan to stop terror attacks and the countries are able to sit and talk.

The aware, the experienced, the educated especially the young should think with an open mind what is best for the people of Kashmir. End of
the day what do people require besides peaceful atmosphere, opportunities for work and possibilities of better standard of life. Can Humans just
survive on religious rhetoric? Have there been any restricting in Kashmir on practice of religion? Does Pakistan provide a better environment for
living; has Pakistan treated its minorities better? Would Pakistan provide better education facilities and better opportunities for work and
progress? At present it’s in a precarious economic situation living from hand to mouth with help from friends and the future does not look
bright. Even the benefits of CPEC projects are not clear, though Pakistan will benefit from Infrastructure development in Punjab and Sind but the
Karakoram Highway from China border to Gwadar port about 3000kg, will not benefit Pakistan. There will hardly be ant traffic on this road it is
being built from transportation of manufactured goods in China for exports to Africa and the Middle East. When this project was planned China
export were constantly increasing, now it’s different story. Cost o production is rising in China other countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia
are producing goods at lesser costs than China, the expected volume of exports via this route will not be as expected. What benefits has Pakistan
received from Gwader Port. Not one shipment of Pakistani manufactured goods has been exported through this Port. Economically it’s a white
elephant already, this is why further development has been stopped. Still let’s hope Pakistan is able to pull itself out of the present mess.

.

India is doing well and will continue to do well no matter which ever government is in power the rate of development will continue to remain in
the 7% + region and it could improve with continued reforms. Unless there is some unexpected negative development, like an Oil shock or the
like. Sooner or later India will be the third largest economy in the world. There will be much better opportunities than in Pakistan, no doubt. The
Kashmiri youth has to qualify itself for the future job prospective, there will be opportunities in IT, AI, Engineering, Finance, Pharma, Chemicals,
Statistics, Accounting, Industry, Corporate, Education, Business, Catering sky is the limit, but you will have to qualify with good educational
performance and compete and with hard work there will be no stopping. Thousands of Thousands of Kashmiri Restaurants could flourish all over
India; the young should take the initiative. Study how by selling just Chicken Biryani unaccountable youth are doing well. The vast choice of
Kashmiri food could be a real success, if cooked and served well. Why there are no Kashmiri actors in Bollywood. Kashmir has enough talent but
you need to take the plunge and the risk. Start taking part in Theatre in Schools and Colleges and you will know where you stand. This is not a
joke take the plunge. Sports are another field Kashmiris could do well but real hard work is required.

Young people might feel there will be discrimination in India, ask those who are already employed, if you are qualified there is no discrimination.
The overall atmosphere may not be healthy at present in certain parts owing to the conflict in Kashmir but it will change if the Kashmere’s them
self make an attempt and try to understand why some people in India behave in a negative manner? When you study in India and express pro-
Pakistani attitude and clap for the Pakistani Team, don’t expect people to pat you on the back. In that case better go to study in Pakistan. On the
other hand the atmosphere in India will change when negative statements by Kashmiri leader’s starts to change and attacks on Indians in
Kashmir don’t take place and of course violence ends. Similar scenario took place after Bandrawala and the type were defeated.

Also think what will happen to the Kashmir economy if Indians stop visiting Kashmir and stop buying its products, there is inter dependence and
breaking such economic relations is easier said than done. If it happens who will suffer more? Not the Politicians, not the well to do but the poor
who have already suffered enough and who have no voice in this conflict and suffer quietly, these people interests and survival should not be
forgotten.

Let’s complete the story about other wars with Pakistan. In 1965 Pakistan at first started sending Pakistani Soldiers and Officers in thousand
guised as local Mujiadins in to the Akhnoor sector of Kahssmir, in the months of July and August, to create an uprising, which never happened,
and then foolishly attacked India on the First of September, in that region. Indian Army while defending Akhnoor had struck them in Punjab and
started their advance towards Lahore. The Pakistan Army counter attacked at Khem Karan west of Amritsar, with their full force heavily armed
with the most modern equipment given to them free of cost by USA, which included few 100 Patton Tanks, the most advanced and powerful in
the world then and India had no match to such advanced equipment. But Indian Army leadership used their brains. The Indian Army first
blunted the attack and then started withdrawing in what is known as “D” formation. Means part of the Army moved backwards, part to the right
and part to the left and Pakistanis though the Indian Army was running away and perused them. When the Pakistani Army was stretched, India
counter attack from the three side and not only 70 Patton Tanks had been destroyed but most of their other equipment as well. The Pakistan
Generals must have run to the Toilets as they had planned to reach Delhi with their Patton Tanks. As mentioned earlier once again India proved

13
that an important factor in war is knowledge and intellect. Pakistan had also captured some land near Aknoor sector but overall it was a
complete defeat. When Pakistan realized that they would be routed and Lahore might fall to the Indian forces, they ran to their supporter USA
and probably other powers asking them to request India to stop the war. As India had already destroyed their Tanks, Guns, Vehicles and other
arms and had defeated their objective to capture Kashmir, it agreed to Cease Fire.

I had visited Pakistan soon after this war, the propaganda by the Army was so strong that most people really believed that Pakistan had really
thrashed India, in spite of the fact that they could not get anywhere near to their objective of annexing Kashmir.

PM Attal Bihari Bajpai, who understood Kashmeres better than anybody else, invited himself to Pakistan, went to the Munnar ( to enter details )
and in spite of this great friendly gesture, they foolishly captured the Heights at Kargil, because their Army does want peace between India and
Pakistan, as their relevance will not be there anymore and the Luxury they live in and the money they make would end. They were up in the
mountains well prepared, well armed, well dressed even to the extent of having special winter Shoes from Switzerland, while our soldiers had to
run up the mountains to defeat them, 450 brave India Soldiers were martyred but the heights were liberated. Yes, Air Force was used but
ultimately it’s the ground forces that destroy the enemy and capture land. Another betrayal, another defeat and yet they keeping fooling their
people by proclaiming victory in some way or the other.

PM Modi also invited himself to Pakistan extending the hand of friendship soon after came the attack at Phankhot, which de railed any hoeps of
talks between the two countries. Once again the Pakistan Government propaganda set up and the Press and projected that this attack was stage
managed by India. The Pakistan army somehow or the other blocks any rapprochement.

Pakistan Army has created such fear psychosis in the minds of its people and makes them believe that India is nothing but their enemy and
would finish Pakistan if it gets an opportunity. No lie could be bigger than this. The fact is that if peace is established Pakistan’s Army would lose
its importance. How can they let this happen, who wants to lose power, lavish living, status, authority and a good retired life? Pakistan Army is
the 7th largest in the world; it is one of the main causes of Pakistan’s backwardness and poverty. It is not us who are saying this, the world knows
it. The world famous Magazine from London The Economist, published an article few months back on Pakistan; ‘Praetorian penury’ and clearly
says “Pakistan’s army is to blame for the poverty of the country’s 208m citizens” and adds; Since the foundation of Pakistan in 1947, the army
has not just defended state ideology but defined it, in two destructive ways. The country exists to safeguard Islam, not a tolerant, prosperous
citizenry. And the army, believing the country to be surrounded by enemies, promotes a doctrine of persecution and paranoia” Interestingly and
rightly it describes them as whisky-swilling generals.

The Army runs a business empire; it has about 50 commercial entities worth $20 Billion having Industrial Plants, Banks, hosiery factories, Petrol
Pumps ect. And it stands today, as the biggest conglomerate of all business in Pakistan. And the benefits mostly are shared amongst the
officer class. Besides it has eight Housing building societies in each major towns where prime land are allotted to officers highly subsidized
rates. In 2007 the protesting Lawyers in a slogan said “AE watan ke sajeele Genrailo: saaray ruqbey tumhare liye hain” O’ handsome
generals of the homeland, all the plots (for Homes) are just for you.

14
These facts have been confirmed by their own respected journalist Ayesh Siddiqa, who was working in their Defense and Accounts services, in
her Book “Military Inc” says:

“Milbus is military capital that perpetuates the military’s political predatory style… military’s economic predatoriness increases in totalitarian
system. The military’s economic predatoriness especially inside its national boundaries, is both a cause and effect of a feudal authoritarian and
non-democratic, political system”

Four wars have taken place between the countries and Pakistan lost all of them and in three thoroughly. In three of them Pakistan was the
attacker and in the forth India was obliged to go to war owing to the genocide that was taking place in east Bengal and the refugees that had
poured into India. Besides, except for US, all other countries of the world were with India and supported it; none criticized India, even its all
weather friend China did not side with it. The paranoia created by the Army is absolutely false. Unless provoked, India will never attack Pakistan.
India and its people want to live in peace with Pakistan same as a large section in Pakistan wants. On the other hand the fact is India cannot
attack Pakistan as it knows it could lead to a nuclear catastrophe, than why must Pakistan support a large white elephant? It has become too
powerful and none can ever raise questions in this regards. The present Government is rather obliged to the Army Brass for having helped it to
come to power. The only hope is the intelligentsia but they are probably cautious and aware of what the army is capable off.

Pakistan’s is the only Army in the world, which promotes terrorism. Every nation in the world knows that the terrorist organizations like Lashkar
a Taiba , Jus a Mohammedy, Haqqanies and the Kashmiri outfit are supported and trained by the Army and their notorious child ISI. On
29/10/2005 two days before Diwali in a terrorist attack three blasts took place in three different parts of Delhi killing 62 innocent people and
injuring 210. One blast in Sarojni Nagar market killed mostly Children and Woman shopping for Diwali. In retaliation, it’s not difficult for India to
have Pakistanis themselves commit terrorist attacks in Pakistan and kill Children and Woman shopping for Ide, but our conscious would never
permit such inhumane barbarous act. It was shocking to watch Pakistan’s High Commissioner talking with glee on TV about bleeding India,
obviously through terrorisms. On the one hand they deny Pakistan has anything to do with it and say the terrorists are non state actors on the
other hand they gloat and express happiness for bleeding India. This is what Pakistan’s mind set is and they do not realize the harm it has
brought on itself by facilitating terrorism in India and other countries. Several thousand people have already lost their lives in the country,
including over 350 School Children, what a horrible occasion. Has not Pakistan lost prestige and standing in the rest of the world but they do not
realize this, how they can fool themselves is beyond comprehension. It appears they think that they have been able to fool the world by
declaring the terrorist they have reared as non state players. Is this not naïve? Unless, terrorisms stops meaningful talks will not begin, the
sooner Pakistan realizes this, the better.

Nothing is impossible in this world if there is the vision and determination. Should not the educated, open minded religious leaders, intellectuals,
scholars and sane politicians, on both the sides make an attempt for the sake of their suffering people, in both the countries to seriously work to
find ways to usher peace in. One think is sure Pakistan must realize that if they are really serious about peace than terrorism in all forms has to
stop and for sure. It is strange that Pakistan does not realize that it gone nowhere with its very negative approach of bleeding India, which has
lead to destruction of thousands of innocent lives, including children, woman, elderly people and it seems to enjoy it. Passing the buck or

15
blaming it on non state players is a joke and if Pakistan thinks that it has got away with it than it’s a mistake. Has this not lowered its prestige in
the eyes of the rest of the world, except perhaps China, and is Pakistan not isolated. Unless the Pakistan Government with support from the
educated Pakistani public, who one can assume are keen to live in peace with India, deal with the Army and convince them that it would be
better for the country to give up terrorism and adopt peaceful means to achieve what they wish to. Has terrorisms not caused enough harm to
the Pakistan society as well and what has Pakistan achieved from terrorism? Or for that matter by bleeding India, even if this continues India will
bear it and react as it thinks is appropriate and violence and stalemate will continue. It also runs the risk of increased hostilities, war and real
heavy destruction? Should not the intelligentsia realize its responsibilities and work to change the environment so that genuine cooperation can
begin? The circumstances and the time are ripe to initiate a new chapter bearing in the mind who are the ones who are suffering owing this
conflict. Not the well to do, not the educated, not the Army officers, the bureaucrat and least of all the politicians, but the common simple
people on the street on both side of the borderits time their sufferings come to an end.

Pakistan has to realize that India will not attack Pakistan ever unless provoked and is obliged to defend. And in my view China will never attack
India to capture any territory, they withdrew voluntarily from NEFA for the purpose to deflate the situation, they will not take any aggressive
action un less provoked. On the Western side India and china should settle the boarder once and for all let all enmities end. Than all the three sit
down and work to reduce the quantum of their armed forces, even a beginning of 10% reduction would be a good start. Use the money for
Poverty alleviation or development.

Time for India and Pakistan educated to get together and start with people to people contact along with performances of Music, dramatics by
Groups or individuals from one country in the other and eventually Cricket.

Unfortunate Children.

Children a subject I could not hold myself from writing about. Our present educational system mane object is just to turn them into money
making machines MMM or 3M. What else are they getting from the present educational system? Is life’s main aim is to get rich and nothing else.
One grand old person J.D. Tytler started a School after clearing some unoccupied land opposite Nizamu Din Haulia, with few thousand Rupees in
his pocket. He himself picked up the ax and the shovel with the laborers to clear the land. Bought some Tents and started with Delhi Public
School. But he cleared more space, compared to what was required for the Tents for a play field bigger than a football field because he knew the
importance of Sports as well as Arts in life. Every child in the school was on the play field for 45 minutes every day throughout the year except
when exams were, held or rains made it difficult to play. For whatever reason he had to leave DPS and he started another School in Kailash
Colony and named it Summer Fields School, also in tents, where I joined and the school later shifted to rooms build with mud bricks and
thatched straw roofs similar to the ones in the villages in Bengal then. After a few years these roofs could not hold Rain waters and whenever
there was a down pour and the Students got wet ‘Chutti’ was declared and all of us would rejoice. The Play ground area was more than double
than the built up area. Besides a proper football field, which was also used for playing Hockey, there were badminton courts on one side of the
football field and Cricket Net on the other side a Basketball court in the north of the football field. Every day the First period was for sports for
the three senior classes, which was the most important reason I was eager to get to school every day.

Every year in the winters we had a Sports day and preparations for the Sports day started a month earlier for practice. The Football field was
turned into an athletic field with proper track markings in oval shape, like in a stadium but only enough for a 200 meters run, for a 400 meters
run two rounds were required. !00 meter run was in the middle of the field from one end to the other. High Jump and hop skip and jump areas
were created where the Cricket Net was, a complete stadium. For entire one month we were on the field more than an hour every one
practicing the sport one wanted to participate into. It included Shot Put, Boxing and Marching which consumed a lot of time as students from
class 7th upwards had to be included, the highest class was 11th as the School prepared Students for Senior Cambridge examinations aliened with
Cambridge University. The entire school was divided into four Houses: Everest, Kanchenjunga, Nanga Parbat and Nanda Devi which would
compete with each other, having students from all classes. To beat each other and get the winner’s trophy would be the objective. Students ran
around the ground practicing, jumping, throwing and marching it was a wonderful sight. Marching was practices a lot as it had the highest marks
owing to largest number of participants. Certain events like High Jump, Hop Skip and Jump, Boxing and Putting were held a day or two before
the main Sports day. I was not good in short distance running but did get a cup or two in High Jump and one in Boxing. I am short but was stout
and reached the final against a taller class fellow with long arms; we were friends and still are. During practices when we are not supposed to go
all out against each other, I could get him occasionally so did he. But on the final day he did not let me get near him and thrashed me well,
though I was able to land two strong punches which surprised him. The consolation was, I won the second cup and kept it with me for a long
time. The Sports day began with March past the Chief Guest standing on a pedestal and saluting, there was always a Band from one of the Army
units playing while we marched and everyone felt euphoric. The Band was the last to March past the Chief Gusts after which the athletic events
began. It lasted about two hours and the last event would be teachers running, Male and Females separately, and what an event for the younger
students who clapped all the way and we would yell Buck up Mam Buck up. A very happy day of the year, in our lives a day of exhilaration. And
today’s Unfortunate Children never get to experience such a day.

17
Besides Sports day we had inter House matches in Cricket and Hockey. And played inter School matches on invitation, we would travel to
Modern School at Barakhamba Road and Government School Kalkaji to play Hockey Matches and invited Saint Anthony School and Raisana
Bengali School to play Football matches. Basket Ball matches we played with The American School. Almost every Saturday we went to School for
games.

It was not just our School who were Sports enthusiasts every school, especially Public Schools had a Sports day, than Delhi Olympics, where all
Delhi Schools competed with each other. And those who topped the events in Delhi participated in an all India event. Our School had one athlete
who always one the 100 meter hurdle, one of the most fascinating event, and he would represent Delhi in the All India event and even win
medals. Besides the Delhi Olympic another even held amongst the four Public Schools, Modern, DPS, St. Stephens and SFS were really races.
100m x 4, 200x4, 440x4 and 100m+200m+400m+800m all within few hours. Two of our School students ran all four and I ran 400m in the third
race and 800 in the fourth, I was not bad in long distance running never felt tired and we all ran without much practice as we were invited just
few days before the event and were told tomorrow we run. The year I participated if I remember correctly, we were second in the first race, and
were third in the second race, without any preparation, and forth in the last two races. But the experience was great only those who participate
in such events can experience the serene relaxed feeling.

Our Sports Teacher was the Caption of India Basketball team in the first Asiad held in Delhi and a Hockey enthusiast. School buses picked us up
all over Delhi and we played Hockey matches regularly. Besides the Sports teacher playing with us our mathematics teacher was a Hockey player
and would join us whenever possible and he was a good runner and ran so fast that sometimes the ball was left behind. We entered Delhi School
Hockey Championships, which were held at the Shivaji Stadium in Cnaught Place. In the quarter finals we beat, If I remember correctly, Hard
Court Butler School and in the Semi finals we had to face Khalsa School Karol Bagh who always reached the finals. To their shock we drew the
match, it was rare for a Public School to reach Semi Finals and then hold Khalsa School, and it was in the papers: ‘Summer Fields holds Khalsa
School’. On the second round with the Khalsa School we felt intimidated by very large numbers of supporters from their School but we were
ready to face the challenge with two School Teacher one Peon and two extra players. Some times after the game started we felt we were also
being cheered loudly, boys from DAV School traditional Khalsa rivals had turned up to cheer us and they did it enthusiastically. They attacked
with speed and we matched them, we had two really tough backers, one a Khalsa, who were difficult to beat and the sports teacher had taught
them, if you are unable to hold the Ball hold the attacker and one of them literally did this. In this second match when he realized he had been
beaten he just dropped his stick and caught the Khalsa player by his hands in front of the goal and did not let hit theball. This infuriated them
and a penalty shot was given in their favor. In those days a penalty shot was similar to football, few yards from the goal the player was allowed
to hit or scoop at the Goal. The person, probably their Caption, who was held by our team mate took the shot and missed the goal, probably
because he was so upset he must have lost his cool and the noise created by our DAV supports must have added to his discomfort. This match as
well ended in a draw.

After every Match got over the Sports teacher would take us to the famous Madras Hotel just behind the stadium, which was famous for Dosas
and we would all have 4/5 Masala Dosas each along with the Maths Teacher. Shivaji Stadium had two Hockey Fields on our third encounter day,
the main field a senior league match was scheduled and we were allotted the second field. This field was not well maintained and had holes in it.

18
Our Sports Teacher had been informed, probably by DAV School Sports teacher, that Khalsa School had brought in tough players from Punjab
who would try to hit our team boys on the legs. Five from our team players, including the two tough backs, were to join The National Defence
Academy at Ponay in a few days and our Sports Teacher did not want to take change and let them get hurt and he refused to let us play on the
second field and asked for the match to be postponed The management refused, for whatever reason, and said play or Khalsa would get a walk
over, in spite of some of us pleading the teacher to let us play and need not worry about tour getting hurt he refused and Khalsa got a walk over.
It was one of the most disappointing days of school life. That day we refused to eat Dosas.

As our entire class spent good bit of time enjoying life studies took a back seat, but not for all, but none of us were dull and did well in
exams. One class fellow never carried any Book to school, would usually carry a note book and shared the book of the class fellow who
sat next to him but he was attentive in class. He would tell us he rarely opened his books at home except before exams, which was the
case with me as well, though I carried books to the class but was not attentive. In school we were told that if you want to do well in your
Senior Cambridge Board examination than read the News Paper daily and the recommended paper was The Statesman, which I read
daily, while in School. Our class was made to sit for a special round of tests to check how we were preparing for the coming Board
exams. The result, except for one boy who later joined IIT Madras all of us, including the Girls, were asked to repeat the class for
another year as none of us would be able to do well in the Boards as per the results of these special tests. We were told better to get a
First Class a year later than a third Class a year earlier. Seven of my class fellows decided better to join the Army, which included a
Politicians Son, A Rich Dabba owner Brother, A teacher Son and a Kashmiri Pandits Son, five of them were selected, I was foolish and
decided to repeat the eleventh class and even after an extra year in the same class, passed with a child class certificate. Even at this the
School principal was surprised that I had made it.

This habit of playing gets into your systym. In Kabul where I lived and worked, I would go to an artificial lake near Kabul when eve possible and
swim from one end to the other and return without resting and when the lake was full it was more than 500 meters each side. It’s much lighter
to swim in a lake and much more pleasurable than swimming in a pool. Go out and try and feel that wonder full up lift. Tennis became my
favorite sport and I beat all the Indian players at a tournament in the embassy and won a Bottle of Shiva Regal. Playing Tennis was a different
experience altogether. The court I played was in the middle of a hill top surrounded by trees and plants and a well maintained court by a Five
Star Hotel. The Court care taker who started as a Ball picker was a good player and I would play with him whenever it was possible. The reason
one gets addicted to sports is because of the pleasure it gives, not just feeling healthy and good, it makes you feel relaxed up lifted and the mind
gets in to a state, which I would describe, as a state of non conflict or tranquil. Sports are in fact live art, every goal, every pass, every save is a
piece of art. No other activity in life gives you ‘Top of the World’ feeling which come from a good game.

The reason I have named this article “Unfortunate Children” because the children in this commercial age are just guided and educated to turn
into money making machines, 3M. Making a living is a basic and a must requirement but it should not be, the be all and the end all. Parents have
time and money for this purpose but hardly any for what makes them alive and live a wonderful life which is their due. It should start when the
child is two years old and made to run around inside the house itself, if outdoor is not possible. Play hide and seek, throw ball, football. Later

19
pillow fighting, Kushti and the best of all swimming at least thrice a week and watch the child grow healthy and happy. Children will eat any
food, including raw tomatoes if it has had a fill of activity and fun. Give them their dues and they will grow healthy and happy.

This School also had a large Music Room and two Music teachers. In class 8th, I started to sing but could not continue, don’t remember why, but
the few days of just singing Surgam lay the stepping stone of listening to classic music, a heritage not being passed on to our children another
wonderful aspect of life not available for the ‘Unfortunate Children’ Listening to any Music is pleasurable so is reading poetry. But the poetry
from Shakespeare, Upanishads, Tagore or Mirza Ghalib is different from what we get from films. If you start eating junk food in child hood you
cannot relish eating healthy food later in life. Same is the case with music. Harmonious or the feeling of Joy comes from listening to Classical
Music, Indian or Western. And Live Music takes you to a different world altogether. Music as they say is bridge to eternity, but the bridge
foundation has to be strong.

The perpetual War.

Japan was a fantastic country to do business and probably still is. The day started at 9am and ended at Mid Night. After dinner at 9pm I would
visit the designing section of exporting company to sit in quite with all the space and work on the next 3 months prints to be produced and
supplied. This arrangement suited me as well because I could get back to work and family earlier back home and save expenses as well. In Japan
every export exertive has to clear his desk before leaving office no matter how late it gets. If necessary they would work even after mid night
and stay overnight in a Hotel provided by the company. Terry cotton shirts and undergarments, easy to scrub and wash (but not twist) and hang,
would be clean and dry the next day morning. Hotels provided Kimonos to sleep, shaving sets, Tooth paste and Tooth brush. They arrived the
next day as fresh as ever. This man’s job was tough, because visitors like me would come from all over the world and his work was time
consuming, but he never complained. Korean also worked had like them if need be and the Chinese I had worked with in Taipei did the same
then. I am sure the Chinese in the mainland do the same, if not better. White color efficiency is no less important than workers efficiency in
generating exports. We had become friends he had even invited me to his house and I had home cooked food which was one of the best meals
of my life. Well educated wife, not working than, with a one and a half year old boy you just could not sit still, he kept us busy. In the center of
the table there was a bowl with water being heated from below. A plate of vegetables all kinds on can think off and a few non-vegs and a bowl
of salad. With Chopsticks you pick up the Vegetable put it into the boiling water let it boil as long as you like, pick it up dip it in a homemade
sauce or two and eat. I had tough I will not be able to eat what all had been served but it finished before I realized it and I was not feeling full by
any sense. In the end you drank the soup taken from the bowl. It ended with a delicious pear. Japanese have the healthiest and the simplest
food ever, this is one very important reason they remain active throughout their lives and live so long.

One night, it was Saturday, our work lasted until 2am, as was I was to leave the next day, I was a work horse and never felt tired. He was almost
exhausted; I knew his salary was only $200 per month, without much though, I asked him. Why do you have to work so hard at such a meager
salary? You have a young and a charming wife a lovely a child as can be and you give them very little time. He looked at me with stern face and
said “We have to beat America”

I was like stunned for a while and realized that Japan was still at war, but a different kind. This opened up my eyes and it dawned that perhaps
many Japanese or most of them have this thought in his mind, at least than. That the country comes first and when the country wins everyone
wins. This is why you saw efficiency everywhere, in the factories you could feel the dedication and the discipline workers went about their work,
at a speed which I have never seen in India. No one got distracted it was Robert like. Behind the discipline and dedication was the motivation to
achieve what Japan was wanting to. There was no conflict what so ever between the workers and management and I never heard of any labor
unrest or a strike of my 25 years of business there. Except once in the Eighties I saw workers, mostly elderly, marching in a single file on the foot
path, holding red flags and some with red head bands. They stopped in one single file on the red light quietly and no one broke any law.

Not one shipment amongst a few hundred an year was ever delayed from Japan, Korea or Taipei. Neither sub standard goods were ever
received from any of these countries.

21
A small specialized textile company employing about 400 hundred people went bankrupt. Proprietor had become a friend I went to meet him he
was not his jovial self, neither sad but calm and cool. I told him he should not worry as he was talented besides experienced an I am sure he
would be able to start again and do well. He laughed and said “I am not worried about my self. I am worried about my staff. I have found Jobs
for about 220 of them with friends and acquaintances about 80 have found Jobs on their own or have started some work; I am a bit worried
about the rest as it is taking time”

In India the worker has been brain washed by the socialist since independence that they are misused by employer. Most employer do not
misuses worker. In fact when business is good and profitable every employer wants to keep the worker happy if for no other reason but too be
able to retain them. Why is the cost of production higher in India compared to other developing countries, especially Asian? Because compared
to other Asian countries the relationship between the workers and the industrialists is on the average not as healthy as it should be, which
breads inefficiency. Ignorance, lack of awareness and knowledge of the Politicians and vote bank petty politics, lead to the deterioration of
worker employer relationship and hence inefficiency. And unrealistic and over lapping Labor Laws., No doubt greedy industrialists were a major
cause of such laws being set but these are the types who get away with them anyhow, owing to corruption and also avoid paying taxes or pay
none at all and the laws abiding ones suffer. High Taxation, license and permit raj,red tape and corruption completed the circle and made India a
high cost production economy. Can this be reversed, why not if there is a will and sincere efforts? Bold steps are required. For once let petty
politics be kept aside and the uneducated, unaware, self seeking Parliamentarians realize that there is a perpetual war and India must bring in
the changes required to be able to do well and counted in this perpetual war. But will the close minded politicians ever open up.

But wars are not won if there is no discipline in the ranks, no motivation, no will to sacrifice. The fact is it’s the foot soldier that is the back bone
of the Army and has to sacrifice the most; this is the unjust part of it but that is the reality. But, no doubt if the leadership is inefficient and
corrupt than the foot soldiers sacrifice goes down the drain.

First of all the Socialist and the Union leaders have to understand the negative role they have played in this game and change their attitude
Union leaders must understand that workers will only benefit when the companies are making profits and their endure should be to reduce
friction and not let it boil over, yet they have to maintain the balance between the worker interests and the company. The Government also
needs to professionalize its Labor Ministry personal so that they play their part well between the Unions and the industrialists to reach
settlements amicably. Special attention is required to industries which cater to the export market, which should never be allowed to close or
slow down even for short periods. Here the unions and the workers have to be made aware that they can play a very important role in the
development of the country as it is exports which can lift up the country by providing more employment and eliminate poverty. They are the
modern foot soldiers fighting India’s war, which is an absolute fact. When more and more people get employed wages will rise, workers and
Unions will not have to fight for it. This has been proved time and again and the present scenario in China is a living example.

Another important factor is missing in our working force is “Motivation” Japan were motivated to beat America, Koreans also had a grudge
against the Japanese owing to the occupation and miss treatment and would say we have to beat the Japanese. They are match to them in my
spheres and companies like Samsung, Hundai and several others are at the top of the ladder because and motivation and discipline is paart of

22
their culture as well. I was not taken aback but amused when a Chinese Export Manager in Taipei and a friend told in late sixties that one day
Chinese will beat the Japanese. As main land China was still in turmoil, he must have read my face and said “don’t laugh, one day this will come
true” I was yet not convinced, but it has become a reality. I am sure the Chinese main land worker besides being disciplined, hard working and
efficient, the characteristics destroyed in India, were motivated to beat the world and they have.

At the cost of repetition; Socialists and Unionists please note; China the extreme left country opened up started with low wages, bad living
conditions and no unions. But when employment spread and more and more people got employed, wages started to increase; poverty almost
vanished at the speed which no body though was possible. They took the bottoms up concept not top down concept which was unwittingly
imposed here. India will never be able to generate Jobs as required unless this unhealthy industrial atmosphere is changed once and for all. Not
only to be competitive for the exports markets but to be competitive enough to beat imports coming into the country. We should not be
importing TV and hosts of other products but producing them large scale and hence economically and exporting them. The local captive market
itself is a jumping board for large scale and hence economical production but it is not being used properly for various reasons. India, will be the
third largest Car market in the world, producing reasonable quantities, why next to nothing is exported? Yes, Japanese Koreans and the rest
would prefer to export from their home base for several reasons but if India starts producing competitively these companies will start exporting
from here. The Govt. has to take certain steps and the workforce made to realize their responsibilities of bringing efficiency and lowing end
product costs so that exports start to begin and production expands and more of their brothers find jobs. What the Unions could say to the
industrialists OK we will co-operate on wages and work hard provided you commit to export certain percentage of the product. Eventually, they
will all be happy when exports start picking up and more and more workers getting employed.

Another subject to be looked into is Small Scale Industry. There is hardly any small scale Industry in China, Japan, Korea ect because they plan
production keeping in view the world as their market and not just the local region. Came to know a small scale industrialist in Baroda producing
reasonably good quality Speck and Goggles. The prices were not competitive enough for large scale exports. He was exporting small
consignments which China was not interested in. He had two companies and two units side by side but one was closed, all production took place
in one of the Units but Billing took place in both names. Why, to save 5% Excise duty? This could develop into a large scale industry and compete
with the Chinese on the world Scale and generating exports Hundreds of Millions of Dollars on yearly basis. China exports over a Billion Dollars
worth of Socks all over the world produced in several large scale units. Here in India this Industry is restricted to small scale. The ones who are
producing quality produce help them to scale up and reduce production costs, employ more people and generate exports as well as pay tax. The
ones who are not efficient let them perish, do not support inefficiency. Will this be acceptable because such restructuring will be pain full? But
for long term benefits it has to be done, we need some brave people to do it in industries which could be successful in the export market for
selected industries. Let Small Scale cover the space, as it doing so for non export items. Small scale play its part in the economy no doubt and
has to exist and prosper. Another idea; Allow entrepreneurs and workers to settle wages, say in rural areas, do not impose minimum wages.
Employment in the poverty stricken areas can only be generated if wages are low. That would be the biggest attraction for entrepreneurs to
invest. Workers who remain unemployed or under employed would be willing to work for less in their own surrounding rather than keep
dreaming for non available jobs in the cities. Who sets the wages for Handi Craft producers, the market, if the Government is foolish enough to
set minimum wages for workers it would kill a lot of the industry. Brave leaders like Bihar’s CM, Mumta Bannerji, and Orisas CM, should take the

23
plunge and watch how employment start to generates eventually One Industry which can only flourish and employ Millions of Millions and
which has potential of Billions of Dollars worth of export is manufacturing of Shoes and Garments. But, wages have to be low and the work force
motivated to compete in the world market. Another success story next door is the Garment Manufacturing in Bangladesh and shoes
manufacturing in Vietnam. Started with low wages motivated work force and the changes are evident. But ease of doing business and less red
tape; low interest rates have to be there to make it a success. If Bangladesh can do it why not West Bengal? If Vietnam can do it why not Bihar?
If Indonesia can do it why not Orrisa.

Instead, of the recently announced NYAY free give away to gain votes to the unemployed poor, somehow channel that money to Industry to set
up production where these poor people live. It will not drain the economy; neither will it make people lazy and addictive. It could be one time
Grant for purchase of equipment or a lone free of interest to obtain land for a period of five years which cannot be sold or converted to be used
for non industrial purpose. This will cost much less than NYAY, but it would not get votes. But would petty politics the scourage the curse of India
would let this happen. Rahgul Gandhi has one aim, to become the Prime Ministry of India he does not care how or probable he and his cronies
do not understand what is really good and bad for the country as they are the brain behind him.

There is always hesitation in reducing corporate taxation; no matter who so ever is in opposition will yell and try to stop it. But, what happens
when a Godrej or a Bajaj gets to make more money with lower tax. Does he start to eat more? Neither is it kept to take it with him after life. If
not all, most of it is invested in the enterprise, to expand activity. This reduces interest requirement hence cost of production. This is the way
capitalism works. In the end an enlightened entrepreneur’s great pleasure in not making money, but the success of his enterprise. Even if it
keeps breaking even but keeps running, sleep is better. Does not all Private Industry belong to the national itself? In a way entrepreneurs who
stay invested become care takers. Whatever the reasons, is it not a fact that its private enterprise which built nations, yet the immature, the
unaware keep pointing fingers at them and always talk about exploitation. Should it not stop? They should get their due respect, for generating
wealth, and employment. Instead of getting respect they are the whipping boys of idiotic, self centered, stupid politicians even at the highest
level. They are the Generals in this perpetual war and workers are the troops. But the due respect is not there.

One field the big houses have failed the country is the export market. Those who are marketing say gents clothing they are happy making money
in the country and do not take the necessary risk and make the required effort to study the export potential of Gents Clothing and Shoes of good
quality, all over the world. Besides China, Indonesia, Thailand, Turkey and others generate several Billions and Billions of exports in these items.
Have to be blunt, I contacted ITC and wanted supplies of Toiletries for exports. It took three months to get to the right person who arranged
samples and quoted prices. I travelled abroad came back and wrote to the person involved, if the company is willing to compete in the world
market than give me a price which covers basic material cost, logistics, and whatever is the minimum over head cost, which in fact should be
absorbed by the company, especially in the beginning, to get started. There will be no marketing, advertising, sales or even administration cost
as 100% advance payment will be arranged with the order. He came back pleased but said we will not be able quote on the basis you have
suggested but will try the best. I told him let’s see what your offer is give me he best to begin with with least bit of profit which you can increase
gradually and told him the beginning will be small and you will surprised have big this can become and I knew it would have been Hundreds of
containers every month if what I had suggested was accepted. He had said give me a few weeks OK. I started calling him after more than two

24
weeks. He was a busy person it was difficult to catch him but every time I could he asked for more time. No replies to mails either after three
moths I gave up. A quotation from Japan would have come the next day, Indonesia 2/3 days, China 4/5 days and they would peruse me. Big
industry is not putting the efforts to develop exports they are happy with the safe home market, why bother.

Indian Capitalists, except a few like Premji and the Zoroastrians the most patriotic community in the country, who will save all his life and then
contribute to charity. Except for few others like Shiv Nadar who have done well, the rest have failed the nation concerning philanthropy. The big
fat Hindu rich like the Ambanis, Birlas, Adanis, Damani, Dilip Sanghvi, Uday Kotak, Burmans, Jindals, M.Parekh, V. Lal and a host of others have
done little or nothing, for the poor in the country. We talk about life being an illusion and non attachment especially to wealth but we cling to it
like no other community in the world does. Trust Sunil Mittal ji and Achariji sooner or later will start with their commitment to philanthropy.

Another community which has not given back to this country for what they have become are the working professionals, working in and outside
the country. Who received subsidized education at the cost of the poor which still continues. As per information it cost the country a Crore of
Rupees at the AIIMS for a Doctors education because of which they do so well in life and its time they pay back the country by contributing to
the education institutes which gave them all. Similarly the IIT’s and all other institutions who have educated the professionals should get back
their dues. Even Schools which provided good subsidies education like the DAV chain should be supported by each and every ex student. So that
this great institution can open more Schools and educate more Children. Each and every Indian who have studded in any institution where
education has been subsidized should pay back on its own. This would include almost every middle class educated person holding Jobs or in
business should pay back. This is how some of the great world institution survive and grow. Some Indian and also those living abroad have
contributed in Millions of Dollars to the institutions they have studied abroad, but have never heard they did it for the Indian Institutes or the
Schools they received subsidized education at in India. Why has the great tradition of “Dan” vanished because Money, Money, Money has
become our religion. Time this class wakes up and begins to pay back the institutions which made their lives. By first contributing a lump sum
and than a monthly contribution and then reap the pleasure and the happiness it brings. If you believe in after life than this is what that will go
with you and you will start to sleep better and realize that you are doing something worth wile in life. Are there any professionals whose
children do not do well? You have paid for their education they can look after themselves now you look after your own happiness and your own
hereafter and also cultivate this habit of giving in your children which is one of the greatest pleasures of life.

All such Institutions, Universities, Colleges and Schools which provided subsidized education should open special accounts in well recognized
Banks or two and distribute this information through their ex students by getting in touch with who so ever they can establish contact with and
ask them to spread the word. This could really become a storm if handled well because it is basic human nature to help and the students will do
it. The IIT’s could get together and put an ad in the papers and provide account details for such contributions.

The Indians living abroad beside contribution to the institutions which made their lives could also form NGO’s and open specialized education
institution in each state, lead by the teaching community, especially those who have retired. These organizations could run like private
enterprises charging whatever the cost and some more from those who can pay and then give scholarships and loans to those who are brilliant
but need help. Some students should also be picked up from the weaker section of the society from small towns and rural areas who have done

25
well in schools and give them an extra years coaching and then make them complete their education. Each community in US and UK, like
Punjabis, Gujratis, Bengalis, Tamilians ect open one or more institutions in the states they belong to or where ever they have been educated.
The objective is to contribute towards elimination of the shameful poverty in the country and stop having further stunted children. Better late
than never and before it is too late as the best Karam in life is to give and help as well as the greatest pleasure. One Buddhist Monk I asked
“What is Nirvana” he said “Peaceful Death” It will come if you give and serve.

Another community which has done nothing for the poor or the masses from whom they make Billions and Billions is the Film industry. Form an
NGO make it run by the respected and the wise open Cancer Hospitals all over the country equip them with the most modern Medical devices
and run them well. Have sections for all economic categories, charge the well to do what it costs and some more, including those who are
insured and the rest charge as per their income, the poor should be treated free. To begin with bulk contributions should be made to build
Hospitals and than regular contribution to help run them. Find time to visit these places or any place where people are suffering and experience
what you will get. It’s uplifting like no other experience, just do it and start this week end. Amitabji, Amar Khan, and Javed Sahib take the first
step and Akshay Kumar and many others like Meghna Gulzar will be there to join you without asking. God Bless All.

Rajan Sahib is world known professional reputed economist I call myself a street economist so my understanding is limited and my questions
may be stupid. But, I am sure there will be no offence. Do not high interest rates make investments difficult and costly? Does this not lead to
fewer Jobs? And increase in the cost of production. High cost of production means more imports and reduced exports means less Jobs. Am I
wrong? Practical street experience; Inflation did not increase with reduction in interest rather it decreased. Wright or wrong?. Hosing and
Infrastructure development increases or decreases with lower interest rates. More Jobs, or fewer? China 4.35%, Malaysia 3.25%, Singapore
1.8% projected 1.55%. How can industry and exports compete with these countries. Interest rates must come down especially for Industry and
Exports if not for Infrastructure and Housing. They can remain high for trading, personal or any other types of loans. Here you need know
professional reputed economists.

India has the Maximum Gazetted Holidays which should be reduced for the sake of the poor they have suffered enough. The economy would
benefit so would they? The necessary ones are Independence day, Republic day, Holi, Diwali, Id ul Zuha, Id ul Fitr, Christmas day, Budh Purnima .
Mahavir Jayanti. Guru Nanaks Birth Day. Holidays such as Maha Shivratri, Janamashtami, Good Friday, Id e Milad, Muharram, Ram Navami and
Easter Sunday should not be there. However, Governments can have special provision for its employees especially minorities so that they can
take the day off if they so wish. Reason, have omitted Mahatam Gandhis Jayanti because he would have said dedicate this day working benefits
to the Harijans but educational institutions should have the day off. Christians being the most educated community should state that they
would have no objection if Good Friday and Easter Sunday are not Holiday but Christians should have the right to not go to work on this day.
Assume Muslims would have no objection about Id e Milad and Muharram as they should take the day off if they so wish. J&K will remain closed
being Muslim majority state. The Majority community would have to be magnums for the sake of the country and who so ever wants to take a
day off should have the right to do so. Solution the Government should declare an extra day of choice off for all employees. Hope petty politics
will not stop this badly required change and let the Parliament pass a resolution in its first section and prove that it cares for the poor. Imagine
the GDP growth over the years. Drop by drop it becomes a river.

26
Will there be any brave people around to bring the changes required for the country, trust the opposition which ever, stop with petty politics for
the Three Hundred Million people and Millions of stunted children and many more on the border line who do not get two square meal a day, like
us, start seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, they have suffered enough.

27
Past Present Future.

Manmohan Singh the most successful Prime Minister of the country had studied at Cambridge and Oxford and taught at Punjab University and The
Delhi School of Economics. He worked for United Nation Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Was adviser to the Ministry of Foreign
Trade, Chief Economic advisor in the Ministry of Finance, Governor of Reserve Bank of India and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission.
Then he became The Secretary General of The South Commission, an Independent economic policy think tank headquartered in Geneva.
On return from Geneva he held the post as adviser to the Prime Minister of India V.P.Singh and then became Chairman of the University Grants
Commission. Narashima Rao brought him as the Finance Minister and he was the one who started with structural reforms, in spite of opposition, and
liberalization of the Indian economy began. As the Prime Minister besides his overall achievements The Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme
(MEAGRA), Right to information act, Rural Health Mission and establishment of Unique Authority Mission were outstanding endeavors.
PM Manmohan Singh had inherited a well running ship from Bhaipai who had put the India economy in good shape without any corruption scandals at
the top, but MS carried it further and ran it like never before for the first five years of his rule. In his second run The Congress Corruption Cancer
caught up with him and the Government faced number of corruption charges with regards to the 2010 Common Wealth Games, 2G spectrum
allocation case and the allocation of the coal blocks. It led to indecisiveness and policy paralyses set in and the economy started to slow down. Yet, over
all his rule and Bajpai’s rule, though he had neglected the poor, could be rated the best since independence. Another PM who had performed well for
having set the ball of reform rolling was Narashima Rao, all three from non Gandhi clan.
The contribution of our first PM Pandit Jawahlal Nehru to the independent struggle and the non violent movement needs no comments. His
outstanding contribution is part of its golden history and no praise would be enough. Besides he was a Statesman, Scholar and a writer of repute and
architect of Modern India. His contribution to the framing of the Constitution was tremendous and so was setting India to a path of democracy. The
people of the country respected and loved him only next to Mahatma Gandhi. He could be credited as a leading figure of the non-aligned movement,
which became a force to reckon with in the worlds political scenario and became a third and a balancing force between the than two super powers.
India standing in the world especially in developing countries was enhanced owing his policies. His standing abroad was a matter of pride for most
Indians and added to his popularity.
Yet there were blunders he committed which has cost India dearly. The first big political mistake he made was to announce plebiscite in Kashmir. He
had first mentioned this in a meeting with Lord Mount Baton in the presence of Sardar Patel, who had immediately objected to it and had said J&K is
part of India and holding plebiscite is not warranted. It appears Lord Mount Baton must have persuaded him to go ahead with it and he did so without
informing Sardar Patel. Before leaving for the All India Radio Station he had sent a note to SP and probable saw to it that he gets it when it is too late.
On receipt of the note SP tried to call him at All India Radio, but the studio door had been closed by then. Announcing the plebiscite was a real mistake
but the bigger mistake was not having held the plebiscite after having announced it to the world. This hit his prestige and the countries in the world.
With Sheik Abdulla on the side J&K would have without doubt voted to stay with India and today this Sub continent would have been a force to reckon
with in this world. For argument sake even if J&K had voted to leave India, which was highly improbable, it would have been easier to accept it then
with popular JLN at the helm. It would have saved unaccountable lives besides the costly four wars and other conflicts and would have lead to
numerous benefits especially economical which would have been Hugh. There would have been no two enemies to face today at this tremendous cost.
India and Pakistan would have lived like brothers in peace, prosperity and much less poverty on both side.

Another important matter which cannot be ignored was India’s act in Goa, Due and Daman. The PM had gained respect in the World due to the non
violent struggle for independence. Its independence was the beginning of the end of the British Raj in almost all over the world, especially in Africa

28
where he was highly regarded. In all other parts of the world he developed good relation with Governments. But his prestige was hurt in the west when
he took Military action in Goa, after having openly declared that force will not be used to liberate Goa, he did it to win elections. Though there were no
casualties as the Portuguese were neither prepared nor willing to fight. It was not a non violent act as 30,000 troops were involved and Bullets were
fired. It affected his and the countries standing in the West as India had not kept its commitment to non violence. It was a minor issue but it broke a
principle.

The other very serious mistake was the weird, inexcusable, unwarranted political decision he took to let go The Security Council seat and let China
occupy it. What a setback it has been for India if not a real tragedy. He was more of a dreamer than a practical wise ruler who should have kept
sentiments and latent ambitions aside for the sake of the country. He was warned by the than Defense Minister Baldev Singh that China was building
roads inside Indian Territories, but was ignored. When the road was completed in about 1957 and border posts placed inside Aksai Chin by China
India protested and decided to look for a diplomatic solution. There were mixed signals from the Chinese side, in 1965 Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai
stated that he had no claim over India controlled territory but later argued that Aksai Chin was already under Chinese jurisdiction and that the
McCartney-Mac Donald line was the line China could accept. Zhou had also argued that as the boundary was un demarcated and had never been
defined by treaty between any Chinese or Indian Government, the Indian Government could not define Aksai Chin’s borders. Had China accepted the
Mc Mohan line in the east and the Johnson line in the west as official border between the two countries in any forum even during the British rule? It’s
better to study facts before judgments are passed.

It was in 1834 when Raja Ghulab Singh a Dogra as a General of the Sikh Army captured Ladhak, after an unsuccessful attempt in to Tibet a treaty was
signed in 1842 with Tibet agreeing to stick to the “old established frontiers” which were not defined. When the British took over J&K after the defeat of
the Sikh Army in 1846, they installed Ghulab Singh as Maharaja under their suzerainty. British commissioners contacted Chinese officials to negotiate
the border who did not show any interest. The British Commissioners fixed the southern boundary at Pongong Lake which is about 75 Km north east of
Leh and regarded the area north of it till the Karakoram Pass as terra incognita. Thought the Maharaja established a post at Shaidulla about 140km
north of Leh in the region of the Karakoram pass and retained it for 20 years, it was occupied by the forces of Yakub Beg in 1867.

During this period W.H. Johnson of Survey of India was commissioned to survey the Aksai Chin region, which is the size of Switzerland, the major
northern part of it is a desert of salt flats not habitable, situated 5000 meters (16,000 feet) above sea level with extreme weather. The boundary of
Kashmir that he drew stretched from Sanju Pass to the eastern edge of the Chang Chenmo valley, including the entire Aksai Chin region. Some senior
British officials did not agree with this proclamation as they felt it was far fetched and the boundary line was described as ‘patently absurd’ and
extended further north than the Indian claim. No steps to establish posts or assert control on the ground were taken. This border line is referred to as
the Johnson Line, which India claimed as its non negotiable legitimate boundary.

A 1878 British Map showing trade routes between Ladhak and Tarim Baisn market the border preferred by British India Government including Aksai
Chin and narrowed down to Yarkand River. A Map provided in 1893 by a senior officer Hung Ta-Chen at St. Petersburg was presented to the British
consulate at Kashgar showed the boundary of Xinjang up to Raska. In the east it was similar to the Johnson line, placing Aksai Chin in the Kashmir
territory.

But in 1892 the British settled on the policy that their preferred boundary of Kashmir was the “Indus Watershed” the water parting from which water
flows into the Indus River system on the one side and into the Tarim Baisn on the other. A boundary alignment along this water parting was defined by
Viceroy Lord Elgin and communicated to London. The British Government in due course proposed it to China via its envoy Sir Claude
MacDonald in 1899. This boundary which came to be called Macautney- MacDonald line, cede to China the Aksai Chin plains in the northeast and
Trans Karakoram Track in the North. This is the boundary line China offered to accept in 1958, but was not acceptable to India. This boundary line

29
almost divides Aksai Chin slightly less than half and the better rich habitable part, with abundant water resources, is in this region which China was
willing to concede to India in 1958/59

The McMohan Line. In 1826 when the Manipur and Assam became part of India following the First Anglo-Burmese War of 1824-1826, India gained a
common border with China in the east. The Agent of North East Frontier Major J. Jenkins reported that the Tawang was part of Tibet. In 1872, four
monastic officials from Tibet arrived in Tawang and supervised a boundary settlement with Major R. Graham, NEFA official, which included the
Tawang Tract as part of Tibet. Thus in the last half of the 19th century, it was clear that the British treated the Tawang Tract as part of Tibet. This
boundary was confirmed in a June 1, 1921 note from the British General Staff in India, stating that the “present boundary” demarcated is south of
Tawang, running westwards along the foothills from near Ugalguri to the southern Bhutanese border. A 1908 map of The province of Eastern Bengal
and Assam prepared for the Foreign Department of the Government of India, showed the international boundary from Bhutan continuing to the Baroi
River, following the Himalayas foothill alignment. In 1913, representatives of the UK, China and Tibet attended a conference in Simla regarding the
borders between Tibet, China and British India. Whilst all three representatives initialed the agreement, Beijing later objected to the proposed
boundary between the regions of Outer Tibet and Inner Tibet, and did not ratify it. The details of the Indo-Tibetan boundary were not revealed to
China at the time. The foreign secretary of the British Indian government Henry McMohan who had drawn up the proposal, decided to bypass the
Chinese (although instructed not to by his superiors) and settle the border bilaterally by negotiating directly with Tibet. According to later Indian
claims, this border was intended to run through the highest ridges of the Himalays as the areas south of the Himalayas were traditionally Indian. The
McMahon Line lay south of the boundary India claims. India's held the view, and rightly so, that the Himalayas were the ancient boundaries of
the Indian subcontinent and thus should be the modern boundaries of India, while it is the position of the Chinese government that the disputed area in
the Himalayas have been geographically and culturally part of Tibet since ancient times.

Months after the Simla Agreement, China set up boundary markers south of the McMahon Line. T. O'Callaghan, an official in the Eastern Sector of
the North East Frontier, relocated all these markers to a location slightly south of the McMahon Line, and then visited Rima to confirm with Tibetan
officials that there was no Chinese influence in the area. China took the position that the Tibetan government should not have been allowed to make
such a treaty, rejecting Tibet's claims of independent rule. For its part, Tibet did not object to any section of the McMahon Line excepting the
demarcation of the trading town of Tawang, which the Line placed under British-Indian jurisdiction. Up until World War II, Tibetan officials were
allowed to administer Tawang with complete authority. Due to the increased threat of Japanese and Chinese expansion during this period, British
Indian troops secured the town as part of the defense of India's eastern border.

In the 1950s, India began patrolling the region. It found that, at multiple locations, the highest ridges actually fell north of the McMahon Line. Given
India's historic position that the original intent of the line was to separate the two nations by the highest mountains in the world, in these locations India
extended its forward posts northward to the ridges, regarding this move as compliant with the original border proposal, although the Simla Convention
did not explicitly state this intention.

After a calm study of the above mentioned facts if is obvious the Aksai Chin was at best a disputed territory. Neither the British India Government nor
the India Government after independence had any written agreement with the China in this regards. China was willing to sit and negotiate and had
already offered the better part of the area to India in a friendly manner by offering to accept the Macartney-Macdonald line in 1958. Instead of
handling this issue in a wise statesman like manner India without going into the merits of the case and without much though refused to negotiate, in fact
in an arrogant manner. India had no concrete papers in hand to stake its claim. George N. Patterson a Scottish engineer also known as Khampa Gyau
(bearded Khampa) was the Diplomatic representative of The Tibetian resistance movement and could never be China sympathizer had said; when the
Indian Government finally produced a report detailing the alleged proof of India’s claim to the disputed area, “the quality of the Indian evidence was
very poor, including some very dubious sources indeed” India was no doubt on a week wicket but refused to understand and accept this fact.

30
On a careful sturdy of facts about The MacMohan line, although Chinas representative initialed the agreement in Simla, Beijing later objected to the
proposed boundary and did not ratify it. In 1954, Prime Minister Nehru wrote a memo calling for India's borders to be clearly defined and
demarcated; in line with previous Indian philosophy, Indian maps showed a border that, in some places, lay north of the McMahon Line. Chinese
Premier Zhou Enlai, in November 1956, again repeated Chinese assurances that the People's Republic had no claims on Indian Territory, although
official Chinese maps showed 120,000 square km (6,000 sq ml) of territory claimed by India as Chinese. Was this done on purpose to keep India in the
dark or China had not yet sat down and studied records in detail and the not yet surveyed the ground situation. Anyhow, no written confirmation was
exchanged.

In 1954, China and India signed the treaty of Five Principals of Peaceful Coexistance and the Hindi-Chini bhai bhai slogan came in to existence, by
which the two nations agreed to abide in settling their disputes peacefully. India presented a frontier map which was taken by China and some sources
align that it was accepted by them, probably verbally. As no treaty was signed. In 1956 China quietly started building a road and placing border posts in
Aksai Chin, where India had none. India was claiming the territory but had never set a foot on it. India found out after the road was completed,
protested against these moves and decided to look for a diplomatic solution to ensure a stable Sino-Indian border.

In 1960 based on an agreement between Nehru and Zhou Enlai meeting were held to resolve the issue. China had already offered to
recognize the Macartney-MaCdonald line in 1958 which gave India about half the disputed area and the part with plenty of water
resources and which is productive and habitable compared to the Northern area better part of which is not productive but desert of salt
flats and not very habitable. Indian claim of its northern border as the Johnson line which The British Indian Government had itself
negated it by promoting the MaCertney-McDonald Line. In fact neither British nor Indian Government had ever set up even a post on the
Northern end of Aksai Chin and perhaps no Indian had ever traversed it. The Northern part was easily accessible to the Chinese but
access from India, which meant negotiating the Karakoram Mountains, was much more difficult. China had already build a road in the
region which was statically very important for China to control restive Tibet, how could India imagine that China would give up that
territory, unless India was able to take it by force, which would have been a pipe dream, and even if successful then it would have had
pay through it nose to keep its hold on it by force, it would have been a real tough task with its harsh weather and tremendous cost
many fold more than Saichin both in humane and monitory costs. On one hand in the east India was claiming Himalaya ranges as its
natural border and in the west the claim was beyond the Himalaya’s range of the Karakoram Mountains. Geographically as well the
region behind this Himalayan range is better aligned with China. China took India’s hard stand in this case to thwart China complete
control of Tibet. China was offended though incorrectly, with India granting Political Asylum to the Dalai Lama, India should have
assured China that it had no such intentions. If India had done its home work and accepted that both in theory and ground reality India
was not on a strong wicket talking should have continue and India should have settled with whatever best could be obtained, and not
create another enemy on its back when there already was one in the front. Any Medieval King would have had better sense.

China was for sure ready to negotiate with India and maintain the friendly relations developed since India was one of the first Governments to
recognize People Republic of China (PRC) government and the India gift of the Security Council seat to them must have had its positive effect. China
did change their stand after perhaps studding documents and the ground reality of no India presence in Aksai Chin. Were they not on a strong wicket
when they decided to occupy Aksai Chin and started building the Road to connect Tibet with the rest of China. Are we willing to asses matters with
open minds and decide who was responsible for breaking this trust between the two. There were several reasons China wanted an agreement with
India; to ensure its non interference in Tibet, which was a false fear in their minds. Other reason was it difficult relations with other powers like Japan,
America and even Russia who was with India before the war and pressure on China from the Nationalists based in Taipei/Taiwan who were planning
to invade the main land and Chinas equipment and forces were locked there. China must have wanted to avoid a clash as to be able to concentrate on

31
what eve domestic problems they were facing in the country.Only after the Americans had assured China that the Nationalists would not invade the
main land, it started moving equipment towards the Indian border, as The Indian Forward Policy had begun.

The readiness of China to negotiate was probably taken as weakness by India otherwise here was an opportunity to make a deal much beneficial to the
country. In the east India was asking for the border line to be the high Himalayan peaks beyond the MacMohan Line being its natural borders, which
China was not willing to accept at that point. In the West India wanted its borders beyond the high Himalayan range of the Karakoram Mountains, was
it logical? China would have accepted India’s claims in the east for giving up Northern parts of Aksai Chin in the west which had already been left by
The British Indian Government for China by the M&M line. That China after occupying NEFA withdrew from it voluntarily on its own. Does this not
prove that they were willing to accept India’s sovereign rule in the east. As per information China had unofficially indicate to do so, in case India was
willing to settle the matter on the other side. Now the story is different altogether.

India should have made an agreement with then willing China which would have had tremendous unaccountable benefits for the country. This was
another serious blunder by JLN after the one in Kashmir for not holding plebiscite after having announced it to the world. Gifting the Security Council
seat and let China take it was no less blunder. But there was no one to question the PM or he was not willing to listen. Neither were there any open
minded stalwarts in the opposition who could have raised his voice against confrontation with China after having studded facts and figures of History.
It was surely the herd’s mentality following leaders who were acting emotionally and not wisely.

In the beginning of 1961 the PM appointed Lt.Gen. B.M. Kaul, personally know to the PM, both being from closely knit Hindu community from
Kashmir, and started with his so called “Forward Policy” Was this not another serious mistake once again the concept of non violence was thrown to
the winds. India started sending border patrols in to the disputed area. Eventually 60 outposts including 43 north of the McMohan Line were
established. This was the beginning of the conflict. Initially China resisted contact and withdrew when confronted and this was assumed as weakness on
their part. Was this done on purpose to make the India Army feel that they don’t have the courage to face them or China was not prepared to fight
than owing to pre occupations in the main land, especially with the opposition from the Nationalists in Taipa/Taiwan and was waiting for right time to
attack. In September 1962 when Indian troops were ordered to “expel the Chinese” from Thag La, should not the Commanding Officer or the
Commander in Chief had informed the Political class that the Army needs time to prepare for this. Would the Government have stopped the Army
from bringing in more personal and equipment if they wanted to? Instead, Maj. General J.S. Dhillon expressed the opinion that “experience in
Ladhak” shown that a few rounds fired at the Chinese would cause them to run away. Besides, Brigadier D. K. Patil had stated that war with China in
the near future could be ruled out. The only sensible voice came from Lt. General Throat who had told Defense Minster Krishna Menon that China
could attack India and had forwarded a plan how India should prepare for it. But he was brushed aside by him as he thought it was too alarmist as his
thinking was colored owing to his leftist Ideology In spite of this warning no intelligence reports were gathered about Chinese Army movements
behind the lines. It took several months to move equipment to the border from China Mainland and also from stations in and near Tibet. On what basis
the PM assumed that China would not retaliate is baffling. But, the shocking factor was the attitude of the top Army Brass. Every soldier is taught to be
prepared for counter attack and never take your enemy to be weak. Besides, the politicians, did not the Army top Brass let its foot soldiers and the
country down? This comment may raise hue and cry as the Army is almost sacrosanct in India. But, truth must be expressed without fear for the sake
of the country and its people.

The Chinese had started stockpiling ammunition and gathering forces as far back as August 1962, while India was sleeping. Mules and Yaks were used
for transportation why was India not able to deduct these moves, a few local informers would have done this job. Is there any answer?

The Indian Soldier, besides being not equipped as well as the Chinese and much less in number, were made to carry 35kg over the long trek in Thag La,
which severely slowed down progress besides fatigue setting in yet all of them fought valiantly at every point of conflict whether in the NEFA area in the

32
East or Asksai Chin in the West, and laid down their lives for the sake of the country. On several occasion they fought to the last man running out of
ammunition and even rations, who is to blame for this? Was it impossible to bring in more equipment and troops by land and Air when it was
absolutely clear that war had begun? And it lasted for 29 days. In the Western sector, China already controlled most of the disputed territory, there
forces quickly swept the region of remaining India Troops, though the small contingents, under equipped, under clothed, over helmed by 4 times its
numbers and without any back up support fought valiantly till the last and were either killed or taken prisoners. Indian bodies were found in the Ice,
frozen with weapons in hand.

With just four days of fighting by 24th, October, The PLA (Peoples Liberation Army) had entered territory previously administered by India, majority
of their forces had advanced about 16km south of the control lines prior to the conflict. Followed by three weeks lull Zhou ordered the troops to stop
advancing as he attempted to once again negotiate with Nehru; Zhou sent Nehru a letter, proposing;-

1. A negotiated settlement of the boundary

2. That both sides disengage, and withdraw 20 km, from present lines of actual
control. 3. A Chinese withdrawal north of NEFA.
4. That China and India not cross lines of present line of
control in Aksai Chin.

Nehru’s 27th October reply though expressing interest in restoration of peace asked for the impossible, a return to the “boundary prior to 8 Septembers
1962” Yet Zhou’s in his letter of 4th November in reply repeated his 1959 offer to return to the McMohan line in NEFA and MacDonald Line in Aksai
Chin. False pride and false hopes and false thinking lead to bad decisions. India should have realized that it would be rather very difficult to
push back China and then hold on to the territory and whether it was really possible to do so at all, there was no rational thinking. China had once
again offered to negotiate instead of refusing to do so without much though India should have started to talk, listen and tell try to explain your point of
view and had there been take and give attitude a settlement could have been reached. Even if India had decided not to reach an agreement with China
except on its own terms, negotiations should have begun say on Nov. 14th and these could have easily been dragged for another 15/20 days if not more
for the Chinese to smell the rat and time should have been utilized to be prepared well for the next round of hostilities. Instead of just banking on moral
support from the West why some latest arms were not acquired even paid by cash or Gold, if required. India should have started looking for the right
type of arms on 20th October itself and started with Air Lifting within days and also arranged shipments by sea.

PM Nehru wrote back to Zhou On 14th November (his Birthday) again rejecting his proposal. The same day in the Eastern sector Indian troops
attacked Chinese forces from a defensive position of Se La and inflicted heave causalities The PLA counterattacked and instead by road as expected,
they approached by a mountain trail and cut off a main road and isolated 10,000 Indian troops. Rather than assault high ground stationed forces at Se
La, they captured Thembang which was the supply route to Se La. Was this not owing to lack of proper home work by the India officers class once
again, don’t think they lacked brains.? The PLA than penetrated close to the outskirts of Tezpur, Assam a major frontier town nearly 50km from
NEFA, The local Government ordered the evacuation of the civilian population in Tezpur to the south of the Brahmaputra River. Was this not an
horrible defeat even when there was time to prepair and lack of forces and being under Armed could no longer be an excuse. Except for a slightly
superior Machine Gun did China have much superior arms than India to fight in those mountainous areas? There were mistakes galore and the poor
soldiers had to pay with their lives even when it was possible to preserve lives, fight well and win.

In the Western front PLA forces launched heave infantry attacks on 18th Novemeber. India was again found under staffed and with hardly any better
equipment and no logistic support and no communications, eventually lost on all fronts, Whether it was Gurung Hill, or Rezand La which was held by
only 123 India Soldiers, where Major Shaitan Singh of the Kumaon Regiment who had lead bravely in the First Battle of Rezang La. was killed, but the

33
Chinese also suffered some heavy casualties. Some India troops were forced to withdraw to high mountain position. Indian sources believed that their
troops were just coming to grips and finally called for more troops, when it was already late. Why step for reinforcement did not start on 20th October
itself and it appears not much movement took place, even during the 20 days of lull, to reinforce the western sector with troops and supplies. If this was
the case than surely the troops in this sector were left to be slaughtered.

Another baffling matter which has to be mentioned here is why India did not use the Air Force to thwart the Chinese attack, being superior in power,
besides there were no Air Strips long enough for China to use near the conflict zonen. Neithr did China have enough fuel to last beyond a few days. This
was confirmed by the Chinese after the war was over. We lost on all fronts.

When China had achieved its objective and had captured the entire area they wanted to and as not to shed further blood, a unilateral cease fire was
declared on 19th Novembe, 1962. China had stated that the Indian troops wanted to continue to fight until the bitter end.

PM Zhou Enlai unilateral declared cease fire on 19th November, which read:
1. Beginning from 21/11/1962, the Chinese frontier guards will cease fire along the entire Sino-Indian Border.
2. Beginning from 1st December, 1962, the Chinese frontier gaurds will withdraw to positions 20 Km behind the line of actual
control which existed between China and India on 7th Nov.1959. In the eastern sector, although the Chinese frontier guards have so far been fighting
on Chienese territory north of the traditional customary line, they are prepared to withdraw from their present positions to the North of the illegal
McMohan Line, and to withdraw 20km back from that line.

3. In the middle and western sectors, the Chinese frontier guards will withdraw 20km from the line of actual control.

Why China took these steps is difficult to comprehend, was it to prove to the world that China had no intensions to grab territories by force or they
feared that the advancing US war ship might help India to start with Air attacks. Or it was the desire to still remain friends. However, India gained lost
territory though not the legal rights, which China may want to, trade for legal acceptance of their sovereignty in the West.

The non-aligned gather in Colombo on December 10th 1962 of Sri Lanka, Ghana, Egypt, Indonesia, Burma and Cambodia did not condemn China, in
spite of India standing with the non-aligned countries. Why, because, probably, after studding facts put forward by both sides, they must have thought
that China was not in the wrong. Yet, India was not willing to understand and felt disheartened at this verdict. India’s prestige in the non aligned
countries must have taken a beating.

Can it not be acceptable that China really did not want to attack India and had hoped there will be a break through somehow? Even as late as October
14 an editorial in People’s Daily had said “At this critical moment we still want to appeal Once more to Mr. Nehru: better rein in at the edge of the
precipice and do not use the lives of India troops as stakes in your gamble” There is no reason why the Indian Charge de Affairs had not brought this to
the notice of the Government in Delhi. India turned a willing friend into an enemy at a cost and prestige which cannot be weighed, all because of folly of
a man the masses greatly trusted and admired.

In fact India needed a settlement more than China, bearing in mind that an enemy had been created on one of the sides and simple historical lesson
dictated, not to generate another bigger enemy on the other side, even if a price has to be paid. It appears none of our leaders had ever heard of
Chinakya. With some wise thinking and long term historical perspectives and the tremendous benefits it would have incurred , India should have
reached an agreement with China instead of provoking war and having lost a lot. There would have been an India/China Axis with a force to reckon
with in the world and not a Pakistan/China Axis which has become a force to reckon with for India. Did we require visionaries to comprehend this?

34
It must be mentioned here that the Chinese buried the India Soldiers with proper honor and dignity, unlike the Pakistani who mutilate alive and dead
India Soldiers before returning them to India. In spite of the fact that India saved 93,000 Pakistani soldiers from slaughter by the people of Bangladesh
for having committed genocide and slaughtered Millions of their own people. None of them would have been left alive by the Bangladeshis for obvious
reasons.

In 1993 and 1996 the two sides signed the Sino-Indian Bilateral Peace and Tranquility Accord, agreements to maintain peace and tranquility along the
Line of actual control. Several meeting of Sino-Indian Joint Working Groups (SIJWG) and more of an expert group have taken place to determine
where the LoAC lies, but little progress has occurred. Is it not time that leadership in both the countries instead of just making statements of co-
operation seriously sit down and courageously settle this issue once and for all and ensure proper permanent peace between the two countries? The
world would take note of it and both the countries would benefit tremendously for centuries to come.

At present there is a one big if with regards to relations with China, it blind support of its all weather friend all other help it extends is
probably viable but not its blind support with regards to its support of terrorism. China is harming both Pakistan and itself by this
support. Pakistan is unable to understand the harm it has caused itself by supporting terrorism. What has terrorism achieved for
Pakistan? Isolation in the international arena, ask any common person on the street say in UK about Pakistan and most react with
negative attributes, if not out right abuse. Has Pakistan itself not paid and is paying a heave cost owing to this culture. If China is
Pakistan true friend it should put some sense in Pakistanis heads to realize its folly and work towards its elimination. The trouble is, it’s
not going to be easy as the Hydra which Pakistan reared has spread its wing deep into its society and has become so strong that the
Government will need time, courage and tack to tame this Hydra. Only China can put some sense into Pakistani heads in this regards
instead of supporting it. Let’s see how Chinas maturity plays its part and helps a friend who is unable to understand the harm it has
caused itself.

On the other hand real steps should be taken to improve relations between the two countries. Let’s begin with Kushti and Kabadi festivals between the
two and Bhutnies Armies personal on the day Dhoklam issue was settled, followed by Athletics, Football, Volleyball and other supports matches across
the borders for the world to see and follow. When joint war exercises take place why not sports, let the soldiers also feel that we care for them and wish
that no more wars take place.

The PM failed the country on several occasions but his achievements cannot be undermined either. The most important of them all was
his vision to enhance education in the country and to establish Institutions for higher education. He also laid the foundation of Atomic
research and had asked Dr. Homi J Bhabha to work on it even before independence, because that he knew would be an important factor
in the overall progress of the country. And later gave him full authority to establish and run Atom Energy Commission of India and the
fine result are here to see today. The Tata institute of Fundamental Research was established as a research institutes. In 1957, a talent
search and scholarship program was begun to find talented young students to train for work in nuclear power.

As he was a passionate advocate of education, on a visit to the US he happened to meet President John F. Kenendy on his birthday, who respected him
a lot for the part he had played in the Independence of the country and the non violent movement, had asked him what he wanted as his Birthday gift.
He had asked for assistance for establishment of a best possible Technical Institute in India. And Kharagpur was established in the year 1951 and the
IIT Institution was born. At the end of the plan period in 1956, five Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) were started as major technical
institutions. The University Grants Commission (UGC) was set up to take care of funding and take measures to strengthen the higher education in the
country. Now there are a total of 23 IIT’s in the country. But, education in these higher institutes as well as other universities were subsidized for the

35
well to do middle class and not much was left for not the well to do and hardly anything for the rural poor. And this lacuna still continues and the rural
poor continue to suffer even after 74 years of independence.

However, besides the establishments of the IIT’s, India Institute of management and The All India Institute of Medical Sciences was also established
during his reign, the benefits of which the country would reap forever, which are tremendous.

The First Five-Year Plan launched by him did lead to the first phase of development in the country after independence. It strongly supported
agriculture production and also launched the industrialization of the country. It built a particular system of mixed economy, with a great role for the
public sector as well as a growing private sector. Energy and Social Services received its due share and infrastructure especial construction of several
Dams including Bhakra, Hirakund, Mettur Dam, Demodar Valley dam. had begun. Hydroelectric Power station was also sanctioned, though Road
construction did not receive its proper due.

But, the most important requirement with regards to health care was neglected; it should have been a basic thrust for a healthy India and a balanced
population. Where the rural India couple would have been happy with two/three children who they could be sure would survive.

Although, large scale Industries were established by the Government itself especially The Bokaro and Bhila Steel Plants. And in other sectors like coal
but running them efficiently became a problem with big state control which lead to complex system of regulations leading to red tape and corruption.
Even private enterprise was burdened with controls and licensing systems and un necessary over lapping labor laws, which lead to un healthy labor
management relations in several industries which increased the cost of production and stifled enterprise. The policy of import substitution, though well
meant was hit by quotas and tariffs. The license and permit raj, import restrictions and exchange controls which subsidized imports and made export
costly added to economic inefficiency and along with high income tax rates corruption reared its head. However, India GDP between 1950-1951 was
3.9% and between 1964-1965 was 4%, but average GDP growth during his reign was about 3%, which it was much more in progressive countries in
Europe and the Far East as India share of world trade fell from 1.4% in 1951 to 1960 to 0.5% during 1981-1990, The world was moving at a fast speed
and India was being left behind.

Another short coming his lack of not taking firm actions against corruption and those who broke laws he left India a soft state. Which lead to
inefficiency in Government offices including the Police and the Courts. Keeping Government employees salaries low was another reason for corruption
rearing its head.

But credit also must go to him for carrying on with the Congress culture of secularism and trying to carry along all sections of the
society including minorities. But, his grooming Indra Gandhi to eventually become heir apparent was determantle for the country, the
harmful effects of which may not be apparent but are deep and tragic. He had at first refused to induct her into the cabinet indicating he
would not allow hereditary succession as he had played a major part in removing all ruling Maharajas from the states and merged them
into democratic India, but in the end he failed the country.

His legacy is best expressed by Historian Ramchnadra Guha who wrote “Had Nehru retired in1958 he would be remembered as not just India’s best
Prime Minister but as one of the great statesman of the modern world. Left behind disputed legacy “either adored or reviled for India progress or lack
of It”.

Indira Gandhi turned out to be a master Politician she out maneuvered all opposition inside the party and outside of it, though the Janta Party
committed hara-kiri and she came back to power after the Emergency scenario, because of their idiocy, but it gave birth to the BJP. She was able to

36
decimate the Congress old guard who were part of the real Grand old robust institution with tradition of internal democracy. By nature she was
headstrong and was not ready to accept decent. There was unprecedented centralization of power. She removed every independent Chief Ministry and
mostly had yes men around her. She even brought in a pliable V.V. Giri as the President in place of self respecting and independent minded Congress
stalwart Neelam Sanjiva Reddy official Congress candidate. This lead to sycophants finding space in the party. For which the country unknowingly is
paying a heavy price. She had people around her like Congress President D.K. Baraooah who proclaimed “Indira is India and India is Indira”

In the pursuant of complete power she even made unethical important judicial appointments. She by past three outstanding senior Judges ( Justice
Shelat, Hegde and Grover ) and appointed a compliable A.N. Roy of her own choice as the Chief Justice. Emergency was imposed when The Allahbad
High Court ruled against her for electoral malpractices, using Government resources for campaigning and excessive use of money, but had rejected
charges of bribery against her. Justice H R Khanna was punished for being the lone judge opposing the suspense of the fundamental right of life during
Emergency. Justice M H Beg who concurred with her became the CJI and on retirement was made the director of National Herald, than wholly owned
by the Congress party.

Two organizations who opposed her openly during emergence were SPGC in Amritsar and the RSS.

Shortly after the declaration of the Emergency, the Sikh leadership convened meetings in Amritsar where they resolved to oppose the "fascist tendency
of the Congress" The first mass protest in the country, known as the "Campaign to Save Democracy" was organized by the Akali Dal and launched in
Amritsar, 9 July. A statement to the press recalled the historic Sikh struggle for freedom under the Mughals, then under the British, and voiced concern
that what had been fought for and achieved was being lost. The police were out in force for the demonstration and arrested the protestors, including
the Shiromani Akali Dal and Shromani Gurudwara Prabandak Committee. (SGPC) leaders.

The question is not whether Indira Gandhi should continue to be prime minister or not. The point is whether democracy in this country is to survive or
not.

According to Amnesty International, 140,000 people had been arrested without trial during the twenty months of Gandhi's Emergency. Jasjit Singh
Grewal estimates that 40,000 of them came from India's two percent Sikh minority.

She had feared the RSS owing to its potential and had banned it. Police clamped down on the organization and thousands of its workers were
imprisoned. The RSS defied the ban and thousands participated in Satyagraha against the ban and against the curtailment of fundamental rights.
Later, when there was no letup by the Police, the volunteers formed underground movements for the restoration of democracy. Literature that was
censored in the media was clandestinely published and distributed on a large scale and funds were collected for the movement. Networks were
established between leaders of different political parties in the jail and outside for the co-ordination of the movement. Some RSS leader admired her,
though not openly, as they thought that the country needed some discipline.

The Economist described the movement as "the only non-left revolutionary force in the world". It said that the movement was "dominated by tens
of thousands of RSS cadres, though more and more young recruits are coming". Talking about its objectives it said "its platform at the moment has
only one plank: to bring democracy back to India"

37
Times of India, was brave enough to write an obituary which read:

“Democracy beloved husband of Truth, loving father of liberty, brother of faith, hope of justice, expired on 26th June”
In the conclusion of his Making of India's Constitution, Justice Khanna wrote:

If the Indian constitution is our heritage bequeathed to us by our founding fathers, no less are we, the people of India, the trustees and custodians of the
values which pulsate within its provisions! A constitution is not a parchment of paper, it is a way of life and has to be lived up to. Eternal vigilance is the
price of liberty and in the final analysis; its only keepers are the people. Imbecility of men, history teaches us, always invites the impudence of power.

The excesses which took place during emergency are known but one which needs mention was the Forced Sterilizations, by Sunjay Ghandhi, which
produced the slogan amongst the people “Indira hatao In…Bacho” which eventually killed the family planning program in the country, and played a
part in her defeat, having lost Muslim votes. Though her 20 point program had lead to increased efficiency in the Government functioning, increased
manufacturing and agriculture productivity, exports increased creditably so did foreign exchange reserve. Inflation dropped from 20% in 1972/73 to -
0.1% in 1974. Had it continued could have achieved which China did with authoritarian rule, there were possibilities. Many people had hoped that on
her return she would rule with a strong hand and were disappointed when she did not.

Her big economic achievement was of ushering in the Green Revolution stepping stones of which were laid by her father. Although statistics about
economic progress during her rule are not really specifics they vary between less than 3% and up to 5% and on the average it appears the figure could
be around 3.5% These figures would have be much better if she had reformist policies. She nationalized Banks without consulting the than Finance
Minister Morarji Desai. With the Nationalization of the Banks corrupt and inefficiency set in owing to low salaries and no rewards for hard and sincere
work. It was a common rumor that to have a worth wile loan approved in the Public Sector Banks the cost is 1% of the value of the loan. This may not
have been true in all cases or with all Branches but it did exist too much an extent, either directly or through professional touts. On the higher level a
telephone call was required to move cases which as per rumors again also involved entertainment charges. The end result being Lakhs and Lakhs of
Crores, of tax payer’s money having gone down the drain as non paying assets, which began during the Congress rule. Which was the cause of ruin of
the Public Sector Bank’s? And its adverse effects on the economy cannot be discounted.

She laid stress on state run enterprises and kept pouring in money even when several of them kept reporting loss year after year. Why she could not
perceive that whether in Europe or in the Far East private enterprises were driving economies and the world most advanced country the US had
developed owing to private enterprise. During the Labor Party rule in the UK with strong Unionisms the British economy had gone down the drain,
come Thacher and UK once again became the fastest growing economy in Europe. Similar it was Reagan’s rightist policies which once again revived the
US stalling economy. Some Americans really started thinking that US era of world leader ship would start to end if Japan, Germany and other
countries continue to grow and US keeps lacking behind. China had not woken up yet.

No doubt she felt for the poor, like her father, and was in a hurry to achieve her objective but her methods were not appropriate. She probably felt that
the workers do not get their dues and ushered in complex Labor Laws along with Political rhetoric unhealthy relations developed between the workers
and factory managements, which gave birth to radical Union leaders. One of who was Datta Samant a Doctor by profession, who treated factory
workers and could feel their pain but could only look to one side of the picture. He was responsible for closer of about 350 factories of Textiles, Garment
and Yarn Industry in and around Mumbai, employing 300,000 workers. Some of the demands were genuine but some farfetched and he had refused to
compromise.

38
Although Samant had links with the Congress, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi considered him a serious political threat. Samant's control of the mill
workers made Gandhi and other Congress leaders feared that his influence would spread to the port and dock workers and make him the most
powerful union leader in India's commercial capital. Thus the government took a firm stance of rejecting Samant's demands, and refusing to budge
despite the severe economic losses suffered by the city, the industry and most of all the poor workers.

As the strike progressed through the months, Samant's militancy in the face of government obstinacy led to the failure of any attempts at negotiation
and resolution. Disunity, mainly due to Shiv-sena trying to break the strike and dissatisfaction over the strike soon became apparent, and some textile
mill moved to other destinations, the weaker ones went bankrupt. After a prolonged and destabilizing confrontation, the strike collapsed with Samant
and his allies not having obtained any concessions. Although Samant remained popular with a large block of union activists, his clout and control over
Mumbai trade unions disappeared. He was in the end Murders, why and by whom has remained a mystery, though rivalry in Union control was
probably the reason as it all related to power and money.

Actually in this political power struggle it were the poor workers who lost everything, none had expected that the strike would last that long and
eventually they would be left unemployed. Imagine their sufferings. The Mill owners also suffered as some kept paying white color workers for months
expected the strike to get over, besides bearing their expenses, while no income was being generated. Many of them owned money to the Banks and
interest clock does not stop. Some had to sell their property and machinery cheap as prices had gone down, Only those who were able to hold on to their
property did well as with time prices kept on increasing and Housing projects were developed.

In this game of Chess, neither the politicians nor the union leaders suffered in any way but the loss to the economy and hence the country was
substantial. Most were family owned business carrying the experience over generations, including those who shifted from West Bengal and Punjab and
the variety of products produced were vast, which included cotton, silk, rayon (artificial silk), synthetics like Nylon, Bemberg and polyester and their
blends. Not only for sale in Indiaonly, but for exports as well. Fabrics were exported to the Middle East, Africa, Europe and even Central Asia. Indian
Fabrics exported to Afghanistan, found their way to countries in its North like Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and even Pakistan. This
prolonged strike disrupted supplies and those importing from India went to other countries and never came back.

This was the period Textile, Garments and Yarn factories were closing in Japan and production was shifting to Korea and other Asian countries and
finally China which had started opening up in 1978. This was the time the Indian Government should have gone in for a kill and provided facilities for
these industries to expand and each one of these mostly small scale units could have become large scale and could have employed in Millions and
Millions, not only factory workers but white color workers as well. This is not theoretical assumption; I was involved in this trade based in Kabul,
importing from Japan in the sixties and seventies, then shifting to Korea at first, then Taiwan/Taipei, Indonesia Hong kong and Thailand as well. I was
working as an agent and the sales were in Millions of Dollars a year. The moneyed Afghans were not literate than and needed people like us do indulge
in Import business. The volume of business was high because in Afghanistan there were no exchange controls and customs duties were low. So products
coming there were taken to the neighboring countries, especially Pakistan and including India owing to the prices, quality and design ect, of the fabrics
carried in person by couriers. This is when India lost the race because the Political leadership was unaware of the potential of this Industry and neither
were they seriously bothered about how really to improve the condition of the poor in the country. When this industry was closing in Japan India
should have jumped on the opportunity and worked hard to persuade Japanese to invest in India, instead of other countries. Or encouraged India Mill
owners to collaborate with the Japanese obtain their knowhow and expand production in India. It was not only Textiles, Yarns and Garments but
stationary, shoes and general merchandise items to be produced in India which could have really solved the unemployment problem and eliminate
poverty as it happened in China. Because of unawareness, lack of knowledge about world trade and manufacturing practices, dirty politics and the

39
creation of unhealthy relationship between the working people and industry and incorrect economic policies like very high taxation lead to rather slow
progress. In short what was missing was a brilliant open minded leader.

Had Indira Gandhi ushered in policies for private enterprise to flourish with sensible Labor laws in her time, India would have progressed much faster.
Labor laws did protect the employed, rather over protect the employed but it did nothing for the unemployed. If you don’t allow replacing the
inefficient worker inefficiency will set in. Instead she formulated populist policies to meet her Political needs. K. Datta Ray described her as a master of
rhetoric often more posture than policy” Unemployment stood over 9%over nine year period between, 1971 to 1980 and declined to 8.3% in 1983.
Rural distress, poverty reduction and especially rural health did not receive the funding needed. This was the time when developing countries especially
in the far East and China, the tigers and the dragon, besides Europe were moving at a fast space, but the elephant was moving on its own leisurely pace
not enough to reduce poverty and unemployment.

No steps were taken to rein in corruption or formulate policies to eliminate the causes of corruption, she even justified it by saying it existed all over the
world. She dismissed criticism on the way her Congress party raised election campaign money, saying all parties used the same methods, though it was
the Congress who began with it. This only increased corruption and generation of black money. She had no scruples giving tickets to criminals as long
as they could win elections for her. No other power centre was tolerated, the intelligent and the independent minded stopped joining the Congress as it
basic democratic culture was destroyed and the High Command culture had set in. This was unfortunate for the country.

Sanjay Gandhi and she were accused of corruption for having signed a contract for $200 Million with a little know firm Kuo Oil Co. based in Hong
Kong for future deliveries based on current prices, which is never the norm in oil business. The Government had lost Rs.13 Crores, which was a lot of
money then. It’s difficult to prove that money was laundered but such accusations do not prop up unless there are reasons. Why make a contract with
little know small Oil co. and binds your hands on price. There is a serious question mark.

Liberation of Bangladesh was her greatest achievement not only good for India but more so for the simple people of the country where genocide had
taken place at the hands of its once own countrymen. Besides being suave and astute she eventually lost the game to the shrewd Zulfaikar Ali, who took
away 93,000 prisoners, the Land they had lost and left her a piece of paper worth nothing. How could she believe that he or other Pakistan leaders
would be sincere and stick to spirit of the written agreement? After having held the Prisoners for long years some concrete understand should have
been reached concerning Kashmir before letting them go.

Was operation Blue Star not another mistake? Later the innovative and sensible Police Commissioner was able to push out the Militants by cutting out
electricity and water supply and stopped delivery of edibles into the region where Militants were hiding, who eventually surrendered. The community
who had been in the forefront in the defense of the country was deeply heart and claimed she did it to win elections. This operation lead to her own
tragic death.. Which triggered the first ever violent conflict in the 5000 years of History of harmonious living in entire India, between its various ways of
lives and ideologies, which included Bhudhists, Jains, Zorastrians and numerous different tribal believes and ways of lives. Including a small number of
Jews, who were prosecuted all over the world except in this country?

However, the slaughter of innocent Sikhs is a Black Spot in the religious history of this country, though violence was perpetuated by the Congress
followers, which included a Christian leader and not the Hindus in general, some of whom went out of their way to protect
Sikhs.

The attempt is not to portray her negatively as a person, as mentioned earlier, her concerns about the state of the poor and the downtrodden were
genuine and probably painful. She able to reduce poverty to some extend and would have done much better with the right policies. It has to be noted
that she inherited a difficult economic situation after the 1965 war and managed the oil shocks well during her reign.

Credit goes to her for contributing and carrying further the vision of her father concerning the nuclear program. She saw China’s continued nuclear
tests as intimidation, though those tests were not India specific. In 1974 India successfully conducted an underground nuclear test and became an
independent nuclear power, though it generated a nuclear arms race with Pakistan, which has actually cost India dearly.

The strong charter she was, made her adhere to her principles as she stood up to the American leadership and refused to go along with them and
condemned their actions in Vietnam, especially the killing of innocent people by continuous bombing. Bravely proclaimed that “India does not tilt but
stands up right” She was known as the “Iron Lady of India”. It was not for no reason that she was voted “Women of the Millennium” in an on line poll
organized by the BBC. God bless her soul.

Her death was a tragedy so was Rajiv Gandhi’s becoming the Prime Minister a tragedy for the country. No Political experience, no grinding, no proven
track record, no working experience, no knowledge of foreign affairs, defense, or nitty gritty of economic policies. Dropped from the Air, on to the
Prime Ministers seat, he did not even have to walk. His Mother had ensured that no outstand leader of strength was left in the Congress and the sailing
was easy as cousin Arun Nehru had been well placed to steer the ship. Many Kashmiri Pundits do think that they are a step above. Was he over all
knowledgeable or brilliant to have become the PM? Poor Arun Nehru was later dumped and he had joined the BJP and eventually faded away, proved
he was not capable.

Rajiv Gandhi a nice and a simple person wanted to live a simple life with his lovable family but was made the PM of the country, just because his
Mother was the PM. The overall lack of experience and other shortcomings lead to the hurried unbalanced signing of the treaty with Sir Lanka and its
horrid and very tragic application. The Army was sent to kill its own Children, who fought bravely and because it was an immoral act the Army could
not succeed to crush the Tamil Tigers. And was made to return without achieving it objective, this was its second defeat at the hands of the family, the
first one took place when our first PM left our soldiers facing the Chinese poorly armed and outnumbered.

Instead of sending the Army to kill its own children the matter should have been settled through negotiations. Because the unbalanced and immature
treaty with Sri Lanka and the stupid way it was implemented not only Tamils of Sri Lanka suffered heavily but it lead to the tragic death of the simple
man Himself. Later it also lead to extreme suffering of the Tamils of Sri Lanka including genocide and still those brave people are suffering and India is
helpless in this regards. They did commit a mistake by not respecting the Norway accord but the inhuman treatment was not warranted. Assume, the
right steps being taken by the Siri Lankan Government will continue and Justice will take place. Who is to blame for all this except blind heredity
politics? Power was handed over to the undeserving and inexperienced and who had not proved himself in any field as a Prime Minister candidate
should have. The tragedy continues because the Sri Lankan people since that time do not trust India. Let’s take this opportunity to tell our Sir Lankan
Brothers that India has no intensions to interfere in their internal matters but when our legitimate security interests are ignored, which is your security
as well and you will realize this sooner or later. The people of Sri Lanka will eventually realize that India is their best friend as our destiny is linked, we
are one people. Should not the Sri Lankan people forget about the past and embrace each other. If the ones who have suffered for whatever reason are
embraced, the same hard working, sincere people will stand shoulder to shoulder to re-build the country if given an opportunity and achieve its
greatness. Let us not forget our common cultural heritage. Bhagwan Bhuddha the great son of India is the bond between us, which will not

41
diminish. No Hindu can ever pass a Buddhist temple without bowing his head; we are one and will remain so for ever.

India is on the path of unprecedented progress, the fastest growing amongst the large economies of the world and with the grace of the
All Mighty India should be the third largest economy in the world in a matter of decades. This can benefit Sri Lanka in several ways, lets
walk together.

His immaturity was again exposed the way the Bofors deal was signed and then badly handled. Legally it could not be proved that he took the money as
the person through whom the transaction took place managed to get away and stay away. Investigations have proved that substantial amounts of money
changed hands but it could not be pin pointed as to who were the beneficiaries. Such transactions are manipulated in a sophisticated manner and are
difficult to prove in Courts. The finger points to him for sure. On this very charge families future in Politics should have closed. But, in India the smart
corrupt people can get away with any crime and continue to live as they wish and the cronies make them acceptable.

Should the educated, aware and the sensitive people of the country not ensure that once again an inexperienced, immature, hardly knowledgeable
person, who ran away from responsibility, never proved himself should be made the PM of the country. Besides, can he really think much for himself is
debatable. He ran away from taking responsibilities to prove himself. Never worked to gain experience and learn, because he knows he could have
failed and on the other hand there are enough family cronies to install him, like his father and possibly lead the country to another disaster. What are
his qualifications? Attending Parliament was boring for him; he went to sleep so easily. Yes, he is a great actor but his immaturity and that of his
advisors cannot be hidden by an act of a hug and a wink inside the parliament. Is he knowledgeable or well qualified, few years ago he was addressed
as a clown by the Press. He has addressed one the most dangerous terrorist in the world, who is responsible for the murder of sever hundreds, if not
thousands of innocent people in this country, including Children, Women and elderly people as Ji. Does this not indicate that there is some physic
problem with him? The sycophants around him have to defend him no matter the fault, but a veteran knowledgeable journalist defending him in this
regard is a shocker and obnoxious.

How did he suddenly become Jannu dhari Shiv Bhagta? An article in The Hindustan times by the BBC veteran Mark Tully had suggested that congress
should adopt religion as a strategy. And soon after, the visiting of temples started. In the beginning awkwardness was visible but then he pulled it off
well. Does hypocrisy have another name? He should be reading more of Mark Tully who knows India well and has stated that most of Congress Chief
Minister appointed by the family worked to make enough money for the next ten generation. Who is responsible for the rampant corruption in the
country? Besides, other factors raising Black Money for elections lead to spread of corruption. When the PM indulged in Black Money, why would
anybody hesitate to do so, unless the person is of very high moral standards? All Hereditary parties like the Congress have patronized corruption, along
with such parties like Lalu Yadav’s, RJD, Chotalias, IN… DMK., Akali Dal. and all of them should be opposed. The young and the sincere must work
to defeat each and every hereditary candidate no matter which party it belongs too, for the countries future. Krishna should fight against Tajeshwari
Yaday, supported by the entire JNU student’s population and the entire teaching staff. It’s the young people from the Universities who should oppose
collectively and fiercely every hereditary candidate from any party so that corruption can be hit on the head.

Rahul has a place in the sun now, not because of merit he is at best a mediocre, but because of the follies committed by the BJP and his ability to act
besides some good advice and the covert support of the press. Is he going to carry the advisors in his pocket on his foreign journey, God forbid he lands
at the PM chair by default? He has no caliber or the personality to sit and talk to Putin, Macron, Abe, and Chinas President. RaGa would probably get
along with Trump who are at the same mental level. Although independent minded people had stopped joining the Congress but there is still talent
there. A person like Sibal should have been leading the Congress. Educational Qualification, caliber, experience, self made, performance, balance,

42
humility, knowledgeable he has the qualities to become the PM. Once Heredity is removed more such people and the like of Manmohan Singh will crop
up in the Congress for the good of the country.

The next line of succession has already been announced and there is no doubt that the mental will pass on to the Vadars in a generation or two. The
nephew has started visiting Temples along with the Mama. The Son in Law was working with his honest hard working father, in the Export business,
probably modest, where Black Money generation was not needed as no Income Tax was applicable on Handi Craft Exports all earnings were white. But
after marriage how could he resist the temptation to make large amounts of easy money like others in the Political game. He is given under the care of a
God Father of a Land Mafia. The God Father makes him to acquire a piece of land say even at the market price, which, from his experience he knows
could become a Gold Mine. But, no land deals and in fact any property deal were possible during and the entire Congress rule without 50 to 60% Black
Money, who can deny this? From where did Mr. Vadra get the Black Money to start his business? I have to repeat where did Mr. Vadra get Black
money in Crores to start his real estate business with. Anyhow, within a short period The Godfather than buys the same piece of land several times
higher than the purchase price and the ball starts to roll. A few deals with guidance’s than one becomes a master on its own, though you can always go
back to the Guru for advice, who is obliged to the Government.

Some amount of Tax must have been paid as even the profits in white money should have been good. And Black Money profits in Crores. Hence you
roll in money for the rest of your life, basis of which is corruption. At present he is not only under investigation for money laundering but also under
investigation concerning several properties in England. He is trying his best to waste time but his behavior and nervousness is a pointer in itself. But,
such thefts are difficult to prove as such properties are never purchased in the name of the real owners. It’s a complex process specialists do it for you,
several companies may be formed starting with one in a Tax heaven, where by the actual owner remains in the background, and it is very difficult to
prove this malpractice in the Courts.

The Congress Corruption Cancer caught up even with sincere, hard working and capable, if not brilliant, person like Shri Chidambaram,
who allowed if not assisted his son to launder money and his wife to represent a concern who had cheated the public in thousands of
Crores and got paid heavily.

The Supreme Court in a hard hitting judgment has said it is becoming increasing difficult for Judges to render Judgments in a fair, impartial and
fearless manner, because of insinuations made by advocates in case of political important cases.. Who has the maximum number of such cases in the
court? Congress, BJP, RJD and the like.

And when the cases go against them the party tries to convey to the people that our Judiciary is unfair to them. Who is trying to destroy a great and
highly respected institution in the country?

In case the opposition is able to form the Government and egos are kept under control for the sake of the country, than the person most suitable to
become the PM is Chander Naidu Babu. A self made man, who grew up from the grass route, who has enough experience, is tech savvy, is hard
working, balanced, does not need cronies, is not controversial and most of all has performed repeatedly and will be able to stand on his own and
command respect amongst foreign leaders. It’s not important how many of his party members get into the Lok Sabha. He can than draw on the talent
of the entire opposition and one or two also from the BJP especially Gidkari and let him run the road show.

In this manner may be Congress Corruption Cancer is kept at bay and the country is saved from corruption at the top level and most probably no more
scams. And he could prove to be another Bhjpai or a Manmohan Singh.
