Dear Scholarship Committee,

My name is Breanna Wimbush and I attend the Ocean Lakes High School Math and
Science Academy. I am a senior and have a 4.1133 GPA. After high school I plan on attending
Virginia Wesleyan University where I plan to double major in biology and religious studies.

While attending Ocean Lakes High School I have become an active member of the
National Honor Society, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I have received and
Academic Letter and Star for my continued efforts to perform well in school. Also, I played
Varsity Volleyball for Ocean Lakes since ninth grade.

Outside of school I am an active member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church as

I volunteer within and outside my community through them. I have participated in the annual
mission trip for the last five years and help with out with the Potter’s House which helps
homeless people. While I am an active member of the church, I am also a leader as I am a Bible
Study leader and many adults see me as a mentor to younger children.

In the future, I plan on becoming a pathologist, I have always found diseases and how
they work very interesting. To attain this profession, I must attend college and then attend
medical school, which I plan on doing. While attending college, as mentioned before, I plan on
majoring in biology and religious studies. I plan on majoring in both because my faith is
extremely important to me and I want to make my faith stronger as I pursue a career in science.
