Algebra III Unit 1

Purpose: Students will be able to solve, analyze, create, and interpret functions as linear
equations, graphs and formulate models of functions.
Outcome: 1.1 Introduction to graphing:
Components:
1.1.1 Identify the origin, x-axis, y-axis, and quadrants of coordinate system
1.1.2 Identify coordinates and plot ordered pairs on graphs
1.1.3 Identify and compute “x” and “y” intercept.
1.1.4 Create ordered pair tables for linear and nonlinear functions to graph
1.1.5 Compute distance between coordinate points.
1.1.6 Compute midpoint between coordinate points.
1.1.7 Graph circles.
1.1.8 Apply distance and midpoint to synthesize equations of circles.
