Cyberbullying is a part of bullying that has happened in middle and high schools and even
colleges because of the new technology these days and increased use of social media networks. It
is not known for schools to have cyber bullies or even people who are mocked suspended,
because it’s easy to get away with it, schools don’t realize how serious cyberbullying is. Today,
in high schools students who act like a bully on the internet should get expelled or suspended
from school to show them that what they are doing is wrong and can hurt innocent people. Many
teenagers have taken their own lives because of another person saying negative things about
them online, and I feel like this need to stop. I think that cyberbullying should be taken more
seriously, because it’s hurting people. Teenagers that are in middle school and high school that is
participating in bullying online should get a consequence so they can understand that what they
are doing is wrong.Cyberbullying is a problem all across the world, it is unnoticed as actual
bullying most of the time, but cyberbullying can be very harmful, sometimes even more
dangerous.Cyberbullying is different from “regular” bullying in that it happens 24/7. For victims,
there is no escape. Teenagers today, connect through social media, so there is no option to go
Mackin 1
offline, when a connection between cyberbullying and child only negative outcomes will happen.
Researchers identified a cycle in bullying online which child predators get online and converse
with young teenagers, they are tricked into taking explicit pictures which are then shared online
by others, that lead to bullying and harassment from peers and strangers. The victim suffers from
depression, engages in self-harm, and sometimes commits suicide. It’s a sad cycle because teens
Social Networking has taken bullying to a whole other level these days, Before technology,
children and teenagers were just getting bullied at school or in person. Today, they are targeted
by bullies on the internet. Most people are a bully in some form of life. When growing up, kids
can experience bullying at a young age it can be a typical name calling and spiteful comments.
These bullies are known as cyber bullies. I find this topic very interesting because it’s a matter
that has been out of control. When cyberbullying it is defined as using an electronic devices to
threaten or humiliate another person online. When it comes to bullying there are effects of
bullying, and cyberbullying in today’s society have consequences that can lead to children killing
In the past, there have been a lot of incidents with teenagers shooting up schools, and most
recently children killing themselves because they were being bullied online, teased in school and
made fun of online in their very own homes. People don’t realize how posting things online can
affect others, but they just don’t get that Cyberbullying is when someone uses their cell phone, to
Mackin 1
harass and harms others. People can send inappropriate messages, upload inappropriate pictures,
When it comes to bullying, there are effects of bullying and cyberbullying in today’s
society have situations that can lead to the deaths of many people throughout the nation. In the
past, there have been a lot of incidents with teenagers shooting up schools and most recently
children killing themselves because they were being bullied online, teased in school, and made
fun of online in their very own homes. People don’t realize how posting things online can affect
others but they just don’t get that. When your child is using a device, the parents should take
responsibility and watch over their children to make sure what their kids doing online is not
anything disappointing. When a person becomes the victim of cyberbullying, the first emotions
are often those of confusion. Cyberbullies like to be in a group when they are picking on others,
this is how they feel stronger when they are together. Usually, there is no reason why they pick
on others. Bullies are cruel and they do anything to feel powerful they do not care how they hurt
the victims.
In the online world, a cyberbully often moves with less behavior, which can see people act in
ways they wouldn’t face-to-face. Because the bully doesn’t have to see the effects of their own
words and threats or deal with real-life conflict, it makes them bully more because they can’t see
that person. Cyberbullying also means the negativity is open online to a much bigger platform
and that’s harder to handle. An inappropriate picture can spread far and wide if posted by a bully
to a social network or website. When posting online the bullies don’t realize that they can be
hurting the other victim feeling. Even though all states have laws requiring schools to not allow
bullying it has not come up that cyberbullying has been taken seriously as actual bullying.
Mackin 1
Cyberbullying should be added to the laws at schools because that’s what all teenagers get on
nowadays is social media. The internet had taken over all schools and when the bully post a
certain picture or quote about another student, they have a higher audience than regular bullying.
It is important to understand how children are being cyberbullied for no reason, so it can be
Cyberbullying can happen in different ways, based on real-life experiences can provide a deeper
understanding of the actions typically used. Along with other consequences with bullying, it can
increase the risk of suicide and negative behaviors with the victims. Suicide usually happens
because the kids are getting bullied or teased at school so they put the problem all behind them
and hurt themselves. People who pick on others online don’t realize the pain that they are
causing the victims. Having conversations with children about cyberbullying is not bad at all it
can help the situation a lot. Parents should encourage their children not to like, comment or share
information that has been posted about someone, and do not forward a hurtful text or post about
someone because that can hurt that particular person. Children don’t like to tell their parents
when they are being bullied online because they are afraid that their parents wont allow them on
social media. Parents should talk to their children about cyberbullying and inform them about
Parents may try to stop them from getting on social media to avoid the negativity, they shut
down everything and teenagers don’t want that believe when being cyber bullied you have t0 see
what people are saying about you., but that doesn’t stop the bully from not posting just because
you see it, they will continue to pick on you and make you feel less of yourself. When teenagers
start to feel all alone and everyone doesn’t like them because of a post online they behavior may
change or they may result in negative situations. Mostly cyber bullies are the ones who want
Mackin 1
attention and want to pick on somebody to make themselves seem good. They get a rise out of
bullying online to feel popular or something. When getting bullied online researchers say that
girls are about twice as likely as boys to be victims and perpetrators of cyberbullying, which is
true because girls are most likely to post something that's not supposed to be posted and then
Cyberbullying isn’t just something u post it can be a text message to make someone feel less of
themselves or even a picture, things like that aren’t good to post because I’m pretty sure if it was
the bully getting picked on online they wouldn’t like that either. Cyberbullying also can happen
accidentally. The impersonal nature of text messages, pictures, and emails make it very hard to
detect the sender's tone one person's joke could be another's a hurtful insult. Cyberbullying is a
pattern of negative emails, texts, and online posts. Even if the person who’s uploading those
mean things are unaware that they are hurting someone, they should stop doing negative things
in all.
Teenagers don’t think cyberbullying is a real problem, most people don’t think it’s a bad issue.
Even though many people claim that the Internet isn’t really a act of bullying, the incidents of
suicides caused by cyberbullying are rising. When a person knows how to protect themselves
from bullies, they will not face the dire consequences of digital bullying. However, what should
others do who do not know about all the dangers of the Internet? Cyberbullying is a problem,
quite a big one. That is why Cyber Bullies feel the power when they are doing that and this is a
Today research shows, cyberbullying causes more damage than the traditional one. If a teen is
being bullied at school, they can ignore the bully and go home, when being bullied online you
feel like you have nowhere to go. Teenagers feel the weight of the world lifting down on them
Mackin 1
when they are being mocked and picked on in school. People don’t really understand the pain
that they are truly causing and want to break them down with posts and bad messages about that
person. It’s never ok to pick on someone to make yours feel good because that’s not a good look
on you , you shouldn’t post something just because you see other people posting it , you have to
respect people online even if you don’t like them you still should never post things to make them
feel less as a person . People should take cyberbullying more serious now because the rate of
suicides is high and parents should be more aware of what their children doing online.
Teenagers don’t realize that talking about somebody online isn’t ok because you can hurt
someone’s feelings and that can result in committing suicide. Depression is another category in
cyberbullying. It takes a lot for a person because it makes them feel sad all the time like no one
care for them and sometimes it can be depressing for them because they have nobody by their
side and they are all alone. When being bullied online it can make you feel bad about yourself
and then you can jump to conclusions that make you want to hurt yourself and that’s never a
good solution. People online don’t care about the victims' feelings and they don't physically see
that they are hurting that individual. When posting about someone online it’s a much bigger
audience there is nothing you can do because everyone can see that. I feel that Cyberbullying is
much worse than in person bullying because you can't take that back if it is being posted where
everybody can see that, It can make you feel worthless and like you don’t have anybody by your
side. Most victims feel all alone and that’s mostly because they are scared to open up about what
they are feeling at the moment. They think that suicide will solve the situation but it’ll only make
things worse because they are taking their valuable life away because of a post or message that is
being passed around. Ages 12-18 are the most common age rage cyberbullying happens the
Mackin 1
most. Teenagers most likely will repost something they feel is funny, but it can actually hurt the
Cyberbullying and depression are alike in many ways. I say this because when going through
depression you always feel down and sad, with cyberbullying you can also feel that way. Dealing
with both isn’t an easy thing to go through, that is why kids commit suicide because they can’t
handle the mocking, teasing and picking. Today, researchers feel that more females get bullied
online more than males, and that’s mainly because they are being tricked to do things on social
media like sending inappropriate pictures to people. Once they start being tricked into things the
senders are the ones being targeted the most. Male teenagers usually don’t have to go through
this, the females take the blame the most for anything dealing with inappropriate pictures,
messages or emails. I feel like females are easily persuaded to do anything online than males
because they actually think before doing something wrong. I say that because females are more
understanding than males so by saying that they like to please others and doing things out of
their comfort zone. I don’t want to put a gender on cyberbullying but if I’m being honest females
do get the most hate just because of what they could be wearing online and it can get spread all
around and then they become the target. I feel like if a male was to post a picture without a shirt
or just wearing the clothes they feel comfortable in they will not get bashed for being themselves
Cyberbullying has its picks with male and female. Another problem in society today, dealing
with cyberbullying is that the LGBT community get the most hate online also just because they
are being themselves, and I don’t agree with how people are judging others just because they
want to post whatever they want or be whoever they want. So people make memes or videos
about them particular people just to make themselves seem cool but in reality that’s not cool at
Mackin 1
all. People should take cyber bullying more seriously because they should be able to post
whatever they want without getting mocked or harassed online just because they are being their
authentic selves and want to post things on their account. Teenagers have to be more careful
about what they put online because it’s always there, even if you delete it, someone has the
Even in high schools that’s where the most forms of cyberbullying begin because social media is
where all the teenagers are, that’s how they connect with each other and talk about other people
on a bigger platform. I feel like cyberbullying is much more intense than traditional bullying
because everybody can see that and a bigger audience can say things that can hurt your feelings
even more and there's nothing you can do but look and it gets even worse. When somebody else
posts a negative picture about someone people like to repost it to feel cool or just to do it because
they see everybody else doing it, because that’s not right, People shouldn’t post things just
because other people doing it, that's being a follower. Cyberbullying is something that people has
to take seriously, it is never ok for a person to bully someone to make themselves feel good.
People today, need to take cyber bullying more seriously, I feel like schools should add
cyberbullying in their rules. School is where cyberbullying takes place the most. Students will
post things about other students in their school and rumors will spread, then everyone will make
up things about that person. The nation is filled with bullies, and if nobody takes this more
seriously there will be an increase in deaths. Children could commit suicide because they are
getting mocked online. Social media is a dangerous way of getting bullied because there’s
nothing you can do to prevent someone from posting about you. Teenagers ages 12-18 are the
main ones who are online the most, ages 12-18 are the most common to get bullied online and
Mackin 1
then tormented at school even more. High schoolers tend to take everything to social media, just
so everyone can laugh at that person just like they are doing.
People usually pick on others to boost their ego but in reality, they are sad with themselves and
want attention because they aren’t getting it from home. When a child can bully someone for no
reason the bully may see someone else bullying online or in person and think it’s ok to do it too.
Bullying is never the solution and if any child feels persuaded to bully someone just because
others doing it is never ok. Parents should pay more attention to their children while they are
online to make sure their kids are a victim of cyberbullying or if they aren’t the bully. Children
will hide that they are getting bullied from their parents because they might feel embarrassed to
tell them what’s truly going on with them while they are online or at school. Social media is
being used in the wrong way and it should be banned to post negative things about people
because I feel like if someone is constantly messing with someone online and posting them over
and over there should be some action taken towards them. Nowadays when you post an
inappropriate video online someone would report it to get it to delete but no one would take the
time to report a video made about someone. Society is so backward because they’ll be quick to
judge someone less fortunate but then pick on them online where everyone can see it. If people
would just live a positive life without picking on someone on a big platform there will be a
decrease in deaths. Cyberbullying happens in colleges, middle schools, and high schools.
Teenagers who act in bullying should get a consequence so that they can know bullying is
wrong. Cyberbullying is different from regular bullying because it makes a person feel even
more insecure when it’s being posted repeatedly online by many people. Cyberbullying can be
prevented in many ways. Parents could stop them from getting on social media or the victims
could tell an adult what’s going on with them. Adults probably won’t understand but it’s their
Mackin 1
job to try to put an end to the mocking online. When posting online the bullies don’t see that they
are hurting that person because they can’t physically see them hurting.
People today don’t even realize that they are bullying because they just feel like they are posting
something funny, but yes that plays a big role in cyberbullying. Cyberbullying isn’t just
something u post about someone it can be a variety of messages, pictures, and emails. Many
people today claim that online bullying isn’t actual bullying, but that’s not true at all because
both ways can truly break someone down and make them less about themselves. I wish that
people could see that this is killing teenagers in our society today, and try to put an end to this.
People have to realize that this is killing our own and that bullying or picking on someone is
never the answer. There has to be a solution to stop the online bullies because they shouldn’t be
able to posts things online without a consequence. Bullying has to come to an end it’s never ok
to mess with someone until they get to their breaking point, cyberbullying has to be taken as a
big deal because if not children will continue to hurt themselves over a post or picture.
