Do you think the story of Romeo & Juliet is as legendary as people say it is? In the epic

story created by Shakespeare in the early 1600s he tells a story about two people that fall in love

and what they will do to be together. In this story these two young people make the ultimate

sacrifice for they love. And a great lesson was learn by the family and community. At the end of

the story, the Montagues and Capulets made a pact that they will never fight again. Now that I

read the play, I realize that Romeo and Juliet is a legendary story.

I think Romeo and Juliet is a legendary story because it’s talking about true love and

what it you’re willing to sacrifice for it. For example Romeo and Juliet ran off together and got

married without their parents knowing. The reason why they couldn’t tell their parents is because

the Montage and the Capulets were at war. (My sword, I say! Old Montague is come and

flourishes his blade in spite of me pg. 7.) At the end of the story Romeo and Juliet were not

meant to be together because of have much hatred between Romeo’s and Juliet’s family. Romeo

and Juliet tried to come up with a plan with the Friar which failed, and they both died.(…where

my Romeo?...thy husband in the bosom there lies dead.)

I also thought it was sending a bad message to readers because it’s teaching us what will

happen if you will fall in love with someone. It’s also teaching us people can do some crazy stuff

just to be with you. For example, it’s teaching us how obsessed someone will be if u guys would

like each other. That person can be so obsessed with you she can forget what’s the true meaning.

What I mean by that is that people that over-like someone will not trust him or her and can be

over protective. After Tybalt death from Romeo because he was angry that Tybalt killed

Mercutio his best friend,(is Juliet ok how is she does she think I’m a murderer now I have

stained the childhood of our joy with blood removed but little from her own.) Another reason

why I think Romeo and Juliet is bad for us is because it’s talking about death and if someone

loves someone so much they shouldn’t kill their own family even if they family killed your best

friend Romeo should of called the police on Tybalt instead of killing him and since he did that

Romeo is banished from Verona and he seen in it he will die.

Another theme that Shakespeare brought to us through this story is that hatred can tear

families apart. Romeo best friend died because of how much hatred the two families had between

each other. (Tybalt here slain, whom Romeo’s hand did slay.) In the present there is still hatred

between gangs, (families), like Bloods and Crips, the reason why they are killing each other is

because of where they came from. What teared Romeo and Juliet apart is their hatred between

their families, if the Montage and the Capulets would have been cool with each other Romeo and

Juliet would have never died. After the Verona herd what happen between them they were force

to be friends and if they said no they will die.

In conclusion, Shakespeare story of Romeo and Juliet it tells us about true love and the

sacrifice for it. It’s also talks about hatred and how it can tear families apart. All though its sends

a bad message because its shows how obsessed people can be and what they will do to be with

you. Now that I read the story I realize how good this story is and why it is one of the best stories

of all time.
