Macbeth Fate

Even the strongest people are capable of having a downfall as shown in Macbeth. In

William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, is a strong, Ambitious, confident and a good fighter. Macbeth

defeated the rebellious MacDonald and has also conquered the armies of Norway and Scottish.

After all the war, he finally came upon an opportunity to become king because of 3 witch’s

prophecy. Macbeth took that chance but in order to do that he had to kill the king. As time move

on Macbeth becomes more and more paranoid. Lady Macbeth is held responsible for Macbeth

downfall because she pressured him in killing the king.

In the beginning, Lady Macbeth pressures Macbeth to kill the king by degrading himself

as a man. Lady Macbeth call him a coward when want’s to back down. Lady Macbeth was

mentality getting in his head by saying, “wouldst thou have that which thou esteem’s the

ornament of life and live a coward in thine own esteem.” (Shakespeare 1.7 41-43) in short Lady

Macbeth is describing him as a loser, he’s afraid. Overtime Lady Macbeth let the power get to

her head. In fact, “But in them nature’s copy’s not eterne.” (Shakespeare 3.3 37) in other words,

Lady Macbeth thought she could control Macbeth every decision because she was able to

convince him to kill the king. As can be seen in, Lady Macbeth was the reason why Macbeth

thought he was he was unstoppable.

In addition, Lady Macbeth is manipulative because she plans out the king death.

As a matter of fact, Lady Macbeth plots the act/framing of the murder. Not to mention

Lady Macbeth was always yelling at him testing his limits calling him coward as can be

seen, “screw your courage to the sticking place and we’ll not fail. When Duncan is asleep

where to rather shall his day’s hard journey soundly invite him in his chamberlains will I

win with wine and wassail so convince that memory the warder if the brain shall be a

fume.” (Shakespeare 3.7 60-66) Overall Lady Macbeth is a demanding person that tries

to make everything go her way. In the life of Lady Macbeth, she creates an entire

scenario to make it seem like it is okay/normal. For example, “Sit worthy friends. My

lord is often thus and hath been from this youth. Pray you, keep seat the fit is momentary;

upon a thought he will again be well.” (Shakespeare 3.4 53-56) Soon after Lady Macbeth

believed that she runs the show and has a belief she can get anything she want’s.

In conclusion, Lady Macbeth constant pressure and manipulative ultimately led to

Macbeth downfall. Furthermore, Lady Macbeth was important to the story because if it

wasn’t for her the entire story of Macbeth would I went differently. For example she plan

the murder of King Duncan which had a huge impact on Macbeth. What a reader can

learned is that people can be manipulative, demanding and controlling. However you

shouldn’t let any person control you or tell you what to do because it could also lead to

your downfall.
