General Description and Intent of the Course:

This course takes participants through basics of probability, descriptive and inferential statistics, and decision
making under uncertainty. The course intends to put participants at ease with basic statistical analysis often
needed in most areas in management.

Learning Objectives of the Course:

After completing the course, participants should be able to understand and perform basic statistical tests
required to analyse data in different domains in management.

Relationship with Other Courses:

This is a “tools” course to equip participants with tools required in other courses. Hence this can be
considered a basic course that feeds into other courses.

Pedagogy:
Lectures, computer based exercises, case studies.

Pre-requisites:
Basic high school mathematics
