Final Project

10 Marks
This course requires you to work on a project on storage and warehouse management of a real
life company. It shall be done in a group format. You are required to choose a local/MNC/SME
company and develop a case study based on its supply chain & warehouse management. In
order to develop the case study students need to visit the chosen company for interviews.
Your case study will cover the following aspects:

 Analyze and elaborate on the company’s supply chain structure and design
 Analyze and elaborate on the company’s warehouse structure and design
 All topic studied in this course must be discussed in the project report
 Develop an existing and modified floor plan of the warehouse
 Make a prototype of the modified warehouse
 Identify any issues/problems in the supply chain and warehouse management which is
affecting overall performances.
 Problems can be in any aspect of the supply chain such as warehousing location, layout
and design, warehouse operations etc.
 Develop/suggest any implementable solutions for the identified supply chain problems.
 All groups will present their projects and prototypes in last class.
 Pictures of different sections of the warehouse can also be added in report to support your
arguments
 The length of the project report must be at least 15 pages excluding title page and
references, annexures and plagiarism report.
Structure of the Final Report
The structure of the report is as under;
o Title page
o Table of contents
o Executive summary (1 Page)
o Introduction of the company (2 Pages)
o Detailed analysis of the supply chain and warehouse management of the
company ( 5 pages)
o Research Design and Methodology (1 Page)
o Problem identification/Gap analysis (2 pages)
o Recommendations (2 pages)
o Action plans (2 pages)
o Conclusion (1 page)
o References and detail of the contact person in the company
o Annexures including documents or data from the company and questionnaire
used for data collection
o Plagiarism Report (less than 20% similarity is allowed)
 The formatting must be as Times New Roman, font Size12, line spacing 1.5, all justified
header footer 0.5 each
 Headings must be bold with font size14
 Take print on both sides of the report and slides of presentation with six slides per page
