Assessment Plan

Assessments play a key role in teaching students whatever subject they are
struggling in. As a teacher, I will use assessments to gauge my student’s prior
knowledge in reading. Assessments is a tool that teachers use to help them
understand where students stand academically. Another way that assessment may
be defined as is “the ongoing systematic collection of information on all students”.
In a variety ways teachers are attempting to understand what is inside a students
brain. Principles and purposes of assessment will help me determine the best
strategies to use of each of my students. Assessment helps determine how my
instruction should be taught after seeing how my students are understand their exit
tickets. Once I get this information I will be able to figure out what strategies to use
that will help my students thrive academically. Every assessment procedure I use in
my classroom will have a specific purpose since this will help me choose other
strategies that will provide the best instruction for each of my students. As their
teacher I will then understand what subjects my students are struggling in and will
now be able to choose the best strategies that will help them succeed. I will use an
assortments of assessments in my classroom. Exit tickets, quizzes, test,
collaboration, visuals, and simply asking questions in order to gauge my students
progress throughout the school year.
