LESSON PLAN FORMAT


Word vs. World: Intergenerational Bible Study

Date: November 3rd, 2019 Scripture: Acts 9:1-31 Topic: Saul’s Conversion
Goals/Objectives: Families will learn about the miraculous conversion of Saul and the Church in
action.

Time Opening/Framing the Lesson/Introduction/Early Monitor/Feedback

word, and even calls the former persecutor “Brother
Saul.”

Read Acts 9:19-22


Note that through his encounter with the risen Lord,
and through the Holy Spirit, Saul now uses his
extensive training as a Pharisee and his knowledge of
Israelite history to now prove that Jesus is the
Christ--now that he has been converted. Once again,
note the obedience and action that the Lord’s new
disciple displays.

Read Acts 9:26-30


Barnabas, true to the meaning of his name (Son of
Encouragement), brings Saul to the apostles and
vouches for him, telling them of everything that Saul
had done after his conversion.

Read Acts 9:31


Let’s examine how the church grew: “living in the fear
of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit.”

15 min. Closing/Assessment *Watch for discussion


The Church in Action time and wrap it up when
Discuss in family groups at each table- they are finished.
“What are some examples of when God has called you
to be an ‘Ananias’ and to trust in Him even when its
uncomfortable?”
“When has God called you to repent and turn from a
sin, like Saul?”

Homework
Taking Faith Home sheet- Acts 9:1-31
This resource allows discussion and devotion to
continue at home. It also allows parents to teach the
lesson that they have learned from Word vs. World to
their young children (preschool-6th grade).
