COMMITTEE REQUEST

Dear Minority Leader,

In regard to choosing which Senate Committees I would like to join, three particular
committees come to mind. I would like to join the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
Committee; the Environment and Public Works Committee; and the Armed Services Committee.
These three committees are strong and would be a great asset to Mississippi.

First of all, I believe that the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and
Pensions is something that everyone can get behind. I strongly support the health and education
of our citizens across the United States. As a committee member, I advocate for affordable
healthcare, equal education opportunities, and secured pension funds for retirees. Now, I know
that I am a Republican, and that this committee is deeply desired by Democrats. Nevertheless, I
see this as an opportunity to reach out to both opposing party members and independents and get
their bi-partisanship on this legislation.

Second, I would like to join the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
This committee relates to environmental protection, resource utilization and conservation, and
public infrastructure. This committee would be a strong suit to Mississippi, because Mississippi
is extremely agricultural. Consisting of large acres of land, farms, and small businesses. With all
this agriculture, Mississippi farmers are known for growing and raising a variety of commodities.
As a committee member, I would support legislation that aids in the utilization and protection of
public infrastructure.

Lastly, I would like to join the Senate Committee on Armed Services. Mississippi is
home to a variety of military bases, which include all three departments of the DOD (Army,
Airforce, and Navy). With all these military personals residing in Mississippi, I strongly believe
in supporting not only the active duty members, but their families as well. As a committee
member, I will support any legislation that gives a good budget to our military members and
provides aid for their families.
 To conclude, all three of these Senate Committees are strong, powerful, and would be a
great benefit to Mississippi. As a member of any one of these committees, I will serve as an
efficient and motivational member, who will go above and beyond to ensure that the party’s
goals are met and that the constituents are extremely satisfied.
