Test Paper – II(Time allowed 60 Minutes)

1. A Govt. Servant drawing officiating pay of Rs. 7750 pm with effect from 1-9-98 in the
scale of Rs. 7500-250-12000 was also in receipt of Rs. 700 pm as a special pay which
was granted in lieu of higher scale. The Official was promoted to higher post in the scale
of Rs. 8000-275-13500 on 15-9-99.
Fix the pay and regulate the pay from 1-9-98 to 1-9-2000:
( a) If it was certified that but for the promotion he would have continued to draw special
pay.
( b) If such certificate is not given.
( c) If the certificate covers up to 31-12-99.
2. A Govt. Servant drawing pay of Rs. 10500 in the scale of Rs.7500-275-12000 from
1-7-1996 was reduced as a measured of penalty to the stage of Minimum of the pay scale
w.e.f 1-9-96 for a period of 3 years. It was ordered that the reduction would not have the
effect of postponing his future increments.
On appeal the competent authority has modified the order as one of withholding
of next interment for a period of 2 years with cumulative effect. Regulate his pay from
Time to time and indicate which order is beneficial to the Officer.
3. From the following Journeys given below, calculate the T.A. admissible to Shri ‘X’
(a ) Basic pay Rs. 15,000 and N.P.A. Rs. 1000 H.Q – Station ‘A’
(b ) Left Station ‘ A’ on 1-4-2002 at 11 Hours 30 km by road by taxi combined with 250
km by rail. And reached Station ‘B’ on 4 pm.
( c )Left Station ‘B’ on 9-4-2002 at 9 AM - 30 km by bus and paid fare Rs. 45 combined
with 250 km by rail. And reached Station ‘A’ at 5 pm.
( d) Left Station ‘A’ on 10-4-2002 11 am – 30 km by road (staff car used). And reached
Station “B’ on 10-4-2002 at 22 hours.
(e ) Left Station ‘B’ on 16-4-2002 at 15 hours - 27km by road by taxi combined with 350
km by rail. and reached Station ‘C’ on 16-4-2002 at 22 hours .
(f ) Casual leave for ½ a day on 19-4-2002 (F/N).
(g) Left station C on 20-4-2002 at 19hours – 760km by rail combined with 7km by road
by taxi and reached Station “D’ on 21-4-2002 at 8 hours.
( h ) Left station ‘D’ on 26-4-2002 at 11 AM – 80 km by road and taxi rate paid Rs.8/-.
The distance between D.P. to R.S. 10 km at station ‘D’. Reached Station ‘E’ on 1 pm.
( I ) Left Station ‘E’ on 30-4-2002 at 7 AM by road 7km used staff car. Reached Station
’A’ on 30-4-2002 at 7.15 AM.

(m ) The distance between Residence to Rly. Station at ‘A’ is 15 km.
