American literature has been influenced mainly by history culture and the values of time,

the literature during and the enlightenment focused on logical appeal which status reasons of the

religious beliefs and do away with tradition of religious practices this era is called the " age of

reason " the romanticism era started in 1850s and during that time literature was focused on the

individual rather than the society it also centers on emotions a nature the conclusion they

strength lies in the American value of good strength in the value of good strength in the value we

place unique individual.

1775 speech to Patrick henry Virgina convention

Patrick Henry 1775 speech was we have a collective duty to work together in the spring

of 1775 delegates from the state of Virgina could not agree weather to press for a peaceful

solution with Brittan or to prepare for war Patric Henry introduced resolutions calling for

military preparedness.

So, the Quote means we cannot accomplish anything without sacrifice and we cannot

obtain the same goal without coming together if we fight then we obtain nothing.

This theme in the essay is individualism which means this individual is

important.

Emerson wrote this essay to emphasizes that people's thoughts and actions

are important to society.

" Nothing is at last sacred but the intensity of your own mind absolves you

to yourself and you shall have suffrage or the world. " (Emergone page 362)

A person's thoughts and ideas are critical and powerful to create changes

in the world.

A person can be great though his own doing's it doesn't matter what others

think what's important is what that person is thinking about which affects how the

they deal with life.

"A Psalm of life"

The poem "A Psalm of life" sets the message to make your mark foot print

Henry wads worth long fellow was a famous poet during the rumination era

which lasted from (1800s – 1850) " be not like dumb, drive cattle be a herd in the

strife"

People should act now in present time to make a difference in the world the

author shows the reader that life is important and you should live your life "Lives

of great men all remind us we can make our lives sublime and departing leave

behind us footprints on the sands of time "

People should make a mark in the world by contributing positively in life.
