Dear parents:

How are you? I hope you and your kids are ready for the new semester to begin. First of all, I want to
introduce myself to you. My name is Zhejun Wang but call me Nicky. I am honored to teach grade 11
mathematics for your kids. This is my first-year teaching at Cougar School and I can’t wait to get to know
all your kids.

Math is my passion, I am committed to helping each one of my students to develop their love, respect,
and appreciation for mathematical concepts. Not only is math an important school subject, but also it is
a particularly important subject for life. Therefore, I will ensure every single student in my class will
understand the content that I present in each class and be able to apply it to real-world situations at the
same time.

For those students who are interested in taking AP exams, I will give extra handouts for practice and
have an AP calculus tutoring class every Friday after school. I will be there to answer any questions and
do my best to help you, so you can pass the exam.

For this academic year, I hope every student will be fully prepared before each class begins because the
class pace will be faster than before, and content will be fundamental to what we will be learning in the
future. So, students will be expected to finish homework and pass the exams.

As you can see, we will have one busy and intensive year ahead of us, communication will be very
important among you, your kids and me to make sure we are on the same page and we are heading the
right direction. Please feel free to contact me for any questions you have or any concerns you may feel,
you can reach me at my email or my office number, I will check periodically when I am not in the class.

Meanwhile, I will share the class syllabus and schedule with you, so you can help your kids prepare. I
will send out a newsletter every week to let you know what we are doing for the week as well as things
that are upcoming.

Again, I am so thrilled to see my students and build relationships with you and your kids, I am looking
forward to this wonderful and exciting year.
