METHOD STATEMENT OF PRECAST DRIVING PILE

1) Licensed Surveyor to first set out the pile point location.

2) Contractor to determine the pile driving criteria according to Hiley’s Formula.

The pile driving criteria subject to verification of pile load test at site.

3) First, set out and pitch the pile at the right position, check the verticality
before driving using Hydraulic Hammer, according to the approved piling
criteria.

4) Extend the pile with welding (if necessary).

4.1 Use wire brush to clean mud, dust or other residues detrimental from
joint plates.
4.2 Extension pile to sit concentrically over previous pile.
4.3 Use electrodes type of BS 4360 to welding.
4.4 Throat depth should be filled in one layer of welding material and slag
shall remove.
4.5 Use metal oxide paint as an anticorrosion before continue driving.
4.6 The welding must be checked by S.O./Engineer before driving
proceeds.

5) Always monitor the pile driving to ensure the noise and vibration are within
the acceptable limit.

6) At setting, take the set record, according to the approved set criteria.

7) To carry out Pile Load Test according to Engineer’s Inspection.

TDC
METHOD STATEMENT FOR LOAD TEST

1) Set up kentledge load test with additional 10% of Test Load.

2) Set all dial gauges to 5.00mm and jack the hydraulic cylinder jack to require
PSI.

3) For 1st cycle, loading shall be increased at 25% for each step and maintained
for 30 minutes until 100% and maintained 6 hours; and decreased 50% for
each step and maintained for 30 minutes until 0%.

4) Set all dial gauges to 5.00mm and jack the hydraulic cylinder jack to require
PSI.

5) For 2nd cycle, loading shall be increased at 25% for each step and maintained
for 30 minutes until 200% and maintained 24 hours; and decreased 50% for
each step and maintained for 30 minutes until 0%.

6) Reading of settlement to be taken before and after every increment or

decrement of loading.

7) Increment/Decrement reading to be taken 15 minutes interval.

8) Maintained at 100% and 200%, reading to be taken 1 hour interval.

9) Recorder submits Pile Load Test Result to S.O./Engineer to signature/verified

and submits report within 7 working days to Engineer’s office.
