1. Purpose
To develop a procedure for erection of modules on module mounting structure at site.

2. Scope
This procedure is applicable to all the projects of Mahindra Susten Pvt. Ltd. involving sigma channels
as vertical post.

3. Definitions, Acronyms & Abbreviations

 End clip:-Used for retaining one module and these are used at the ends.
 Mid clip:-Used between two adjacent modules and retain both the connected modules.
 Allen Bolts: - Bolts with hexagonal shaped heads and are used for maintaining mid clip and
end clip in position.

4. Health & Safety warnings

 No work shall be performed without the usage of proper PPEs on the site.
 Forklift/Cranes to have valid certificates for(a)Eqpt fitness (b)PUC (C) operation &
(d) load test certificates- this to be verified by HSE Sup.
 Forklift/Crane driver to have valid driver licence-this to be verified by HSE Sup
 HSE Sup to check that the Driver is in proper Health condition and
Fit for operating the Equipment.
 Before starting operation of Eqpt, the HSE Sup shall give a Tool Box Talk to the
Operator/Driver on HSE aspects.
 Before lifting loads, driver to ensure that forklift is on reasonably level ground.

 Care shall be taken to ensure that there is no thoroughfare around the turning radius of the
hydraulic crane .
 Slings with load test certificates to be verified by Site HSE supervisor for lifting loads before
slings are put in use.
 Slings of appropriate load carrying capacity as per design shall be used for lifting and
erection of modules
 It shall be ensured that the safety latch in the crane hook is in position before proceeding for
any lifting activity.
 Crane operators present at the site shall possess separate license for driving and operating
heavy vehicles.
 Cranes/any mobile equipments used at site to have a. Valid PUC, b. Licence, c. Load Test
Certificate, d. Any other certificate required. All the above records to be maintained at Site.
 Records of Certificates shall be maintained at Site as evidence.

5. Responsibility
 It is the primary responsibility of the Lead civil to erect and install
Modules on the MMS as per the procedure ensuring quality,

filled up after verification. Site QC civil shall use this FQP record for verification of
correctness of job on random sampling basis using FQP checklist records as mentioned
above and identify the pieces/item actually inspected.
 After erection, it is the responsibility of the Lead civil to get the job certified by the Client
personnel.

6. Equipment & Tools and tackles

Inclinometer: -
It is used for measuring angle of tilt during fixing of
principal rafter.

Safety gloves: -
It is used for protecting hands from any injuries that may
result during erection and installation related processes of
MMS.

Safety goggles: -
It is used for protecting eyes from any injuries that may
result during erection and installation related processes of
MMS.

Safety shoes: -
It is used for protecting legs from any injuries that may
result during erection and installation related processes of
MMS.

7. Methodology

 Module palettes shall be shifted very carefully through forklift

from store yard to desired position at site.
 The module should face south direction, alignment of purlins
shall be checked with thread before mounting the module.
 If purlins are not properly aligned then we have to
loosen the connections and again have to check the
alignment of purlins.
 Now first module is placed on bottom purlin and
adjusted so that to meet the drawing specifications.
 Now after setting this one module, all the bottom sub- array
modules were set in line with the first module.

 Now top sub-array modules were set at some offset (specified in drawing) from bottom sub
array.
 After every module in a table is set, visual checks shall be done to ensure whether modules
are aligned properly in vertical and horizontal directions.
 Degree of inclination of module should be checked with inclinometer.
 Finally bolts shall be tightened using torque wrench and gun machine.
