REMEDIAL TREATMENT FOR
EXISTING ROOF

Dr. Fixit Newcoat

The cracks in Brickbat Coba lead to water ingress and
persistent dampness in roofs. Conventional system
requires breaking and removal of Coba, whereas
Dr. Fixit Newcoat solution does not require breaking.

METHODOLOGY

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP

• Clean the surface thoroughly of all contaminants
like dust, traces of curing compound, oil and grease.
Remove all surface imperfections, protrusions,
structurally unsound and loose concrete.
• Prime the surface with Dr. Fixit Primeseal and
allow it to dry. Apply the first coat of
Dr. Fixit Newcoat.
• While it is still wet, place a woven glass fibre mesh
of measurements 2 mm x 2 mm and allow it to soak
completely. Immediately apply the second coat with
a roller or squeegee, to ensure complete coverage
of the fibre mesh.
• Apply the third coat after 6 to 8 hours, once the
second coat is dry.
• For roofs below 2000 sq. ft., use 2 coats of

Instant Leak Plug
Unwanted moisture in the structure of a building Special Cementitious Coating
occurs as a result of intrusion of water from outside Special Paint
or condensation from within the structure. A high
proportion of damp problems in buildings are caused
by condensation, rain penetration or rising dampness.

METHODOLOGY

3 Special Paint
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

• Mark the affected area that needs to be repaired.

• With the help of suitable tools, remove all the 2 Special
Cementitious
existing paint, POP, painters’ putty, etc. completely Coating
from the surface till the cement-sand plastered
surface is exposed with the help of suitable tools. 1 Instant
Leak Plug
• Chip off an additional area measuring 2 sq. ft. from
all four sides of the affected damp area. Cement Plaster

• Identify the source of the drip and apply Instant

Leak Plug over it by rubbing with hands
and / or hold for a minute to ensure that the
water stops. Brick Wall

• Damp the wall with water and rub dry powder on

the surrounding area by hand and allow it to react
with surface water for half an hour. This will ensure
all micro-pores get filled.
• Wet the wall again to a ‘Saturated Surface Dry’
or SSD condition so that Instant Leak Plug can
react with water and make a hard film for the
subsequent coat of Special Cementitious Coating.
• Prepare Special Cementitious Coating by adding 2
parts of powder to 1 part of liquid. Ensure powder is
mixed with the liquid to a brushable consistency.
• Remove all loose dry particles by using a dry soft
cloth. Apply Special Cementitious Coating to the
surface by brush and leave the same overnight.
• Apply the second coat of Special Cementitious
Coating in the same manner in perpendicular
direction to the first coat. It will take 4 to 6 hours in
proper ventilation.
• Apply first coat of Special Paint Allow it to dry for 5
to 6 hours and apply second coat of Special Paint
perpendicular to the first coat.
• Subsequent putty and painting application can be
done as desired after full drying of final coat of
Special Paint.

loose particles, etc. Wash hands with soap and warm water.
• Moisten the surface before applying Dr. Fixit
Crack-X Shrinkfree. Fine hairline cracks must be
widened up to a minimum of 1 mm and then Dr. Fixit Crack-X Shrinkfree
be filled.
• For filling Dr. Fixit Crack-X Shrinkfree on the
internal surfaces, remove the existing POP or
painter’s putty till the plaster surface is exposed.
• Press Dr. Fixit Crack-X Shrinkfree firmly into the
crack only one time, with a spatula or putty knife
and level the surface. If convenient, use handball
application.
• Take care to avoid formation of cavities or bubbles
during application.
• Allow it to dry in ambient conditions for 5 to 6 hours
before painting for best results. A 7-day air curing is
advised.
• Further, apply POP or painters’ putty once it is
fully dry.
SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO
CONCRETE REPAIR

Concrete Repair Dr. Fixit Epoxy Zinc Primer

Dr. Fixit Epoxy Bonding Agent
Concrete degradation may have various causes like Dr. Fixit Micro Concrete
aggregate expansion, sea water effects, bacterial Dr. Fixit Raincoat
corrosion, carbonation, etc.

The corrosion of rebars induce mechanical stress that

can cause cracks and disrupt the concrete structure
resulting in spalling.

METHODOLOGY

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

• Mark out the area to be taken up for concrete repair

and mechanically cut to a depth into the concrete
well behind the rebars so that the micro-concrete
can be placed effectively over a treatment with the 1 Rebar
suitable bonding agent.

• Cutting should be perfectly done in a geometric Zinc Primer

done to the extent as indicated by repair experts.
4 Dr. Fixit
Feather edges must be avoided so that the bond Micro Concrete
of the new repair mortar and the host concrete 5 Concrete

becomes monolithic.
6 Dr. Fixit
• Clean the cut portions with a pressurised air jet or a Raincoat
jet of clean water, or any suitable means.
• Coat the steel reinforcement bars with a single
component Dr. Fixit Epoxy Zinc Primer as
cathodic protection.
• Use Dr. Fixit Epoxy Bonding Agent for an area
over 10 sq. ft. of concrete repair in the underside of
slab or repair of the RCC wall.
• For other general repairs, use Dr. Fixit Pidicrete
MPB, an acrylic bonding agent, by applying it neatly
over a pre-wetted surface.
• After this dries, the cut area can be applied
with Dr. Fixit Micro Concrete or Dr. Fixit
Repair Mortar.
• After the repair mortar sets, apply Dr. Fixit
Raincoat (any choice of colour) as a waterproofing
and anti-carbonation protective coating.

Each step as indicated should be applied in accordance

with the details mentioned in the respective technical
data sheets. Dr. Fixit Raincoat is a highly elastomeric
waterproof coating for external walls, and also an
effective anti-carb coating against atmospheric
pollution. It can be applied in any colour, just like
any other external paint.
