 REMEDIAL TREATMENT FOR
EXISTING ROOF

Dr. Fixit Newcoat

The cracks in Brickbat Coba lead to water ingress and
persistent dampness in roofs. Conventional system
requires breaking and removal of Coba, whereas
Dr. Fixit Newcoat solution does not require breaking.

METHODOLOGY

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

• Cut open and clean cracks in the existing screed or Dr. Fixit Newcoat
Brickbat Coba systems with compressed air. Dr. Fixit Primeseal

• Clean the surface thoroughly of all contaminants
like dust, traces of curing compound, oil and grease.
Remove all surface imperfections, protrusions,
structurally unsound and loose concrete.
• Prime the surface with Dr. Fixit Primeseal and
allow it to dry. Apply the first coat of
Dr. Fixit Newcoat.
• While it is still wet, place a woven glass fibre mesh
of measurements 2 mm x 2 mm and allow it to soak
completely. Immediately apply the second coat with
a roller or squeegee, to ensure complete coverage
of the fibre mesh.
• Apply the third coat after 6 to 8 hours, once the
second coat is dry.
• For roofs below 2000 sq. ft., use 2 coats of
Dr. Fixit Newcoat Ezee.
 REMEDIAL WATERPROOFING FOR
VOIDS IN CONCRETE

Pagel ZL 10
In some places, concrete does not get compacted well,
resulting in porous and weak concrete. This results in
honeycombing and voids in concrete.
All honeycombs and voids caused due to lack
of proper compaction of concrete, shall be
taken up for treatment by injecting ultra-fine
cementitious grout.

METHODOLOGY

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
All areas marked as honeycombs and big voids
will be filled and densified with this treatment.
The appropriate injection equipment as advised by
the Dr. Fixit Technical Team should be used to inject
the Pagel ZL 10 ultra-fine injection, which is supplied
in a dry powder form. Just the right amount of water
must be added in accordance with the details provided
in the technical data sheet (i.e. 0.4 to 0.5 w/c ratio) that
will make the Pagel ZL 10 mixture extremely fluid.
Small Voids and Honeycombs
Appropriate nozzles generally used for any
cementitious injection will serve the purpose.
The nozzles can be fixed directly over the void.
• The grout will develop good strength and areas
that are shuttered for injections, can be undone,
preferably after 48 hours, to ensure that no
site abuse can damage the surface of the newly
filled honeycombs.
• If needed, finish off the surface of the concrete with
the repair mortar Pagel R 20, rapid cementitious
repair mortar, to increase the protection of the area.

For Large Voids in Concrete

aggregates and cement laitance.

hydrophobic, low viscosity, polyurethane
resin injections.
METHODOLOGY
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
• Inject all cracks and voids actively leaking water with
low viscosity, hydrophobic polyurethane injections.
• Drill holes into the substrate with a suitable drilling
machine and the diameter to suit the diameter
of the injection port. After drilling, insert a good
quality flexible plastic pipe to clean the debris inside
the drilled hole. Non-return type of injection ports
should be fixed on both sides of the crack in a
staggered fashion in gaps of 6 to 9 inches.
• Conduct fixing of ports with a water-based epoxy
putty that can set and harden in the presence
of water.
• After 2 to 3 days, inject Dr. Fixit PU Foam Injection
into the port.
• As the crack gets filled, the injection resin will swell
on contact with the water inside and start coming
out of the crack. This will indicate that the next port
can be taken up.
• Complete injecting into all the ports and allow the
swelling foam to ooze out of the crack.
These injections will set in the presence of water,
without getting mixed with it, but bond extremely well
to arrest leakage and dampness.
• Over the next 1 or 2 days, the water leakage will get
arrested and stop leaking through the cracks or
voids. Then, inject Dr. Fixit PU Plain Injection into
the same ports.
• This time, the injecting process may not be as easy
as it was done earlier. As it gets difficult to inject,
stop the process.
• This indicates that the crack has been filled in
and compacted to seal them off permanently
from leakage.
• This process is the same for all residential and
public water-containing structures or even dams
and aquaducts.
• Depending on the depth of the concrete, the ports
may have to be longer to insert them deep into the
surfaces. Both these Dr. Fixit PU injections are safe
for potable water contact.

Unwanted moisture in the structure of a building Special Cementitious Coating

proportion of damp problems in buildings are caused
by condensation, rain penetration or rising dampness.

METHODOLOGY

subsequent coat of Special Cementitious Coating.
• Prepare Special Cementitious Coating by adding 2
parts of powder to 1 part of liquid. Ensure powder is
mixed with the liquid to a brushable consistency.
• Remove all loose dry particles by using a dry soft
cloth. Apply Special Cementitious Coating to the
surface by brush and leave the same overnight.
• Apply the second coat of Special Cementitious
Coating in the same manner in perpendicular
direction to the first coat. It will take 4 to 6 hours in
proper ventilation.
• Apply first coat of Special Paint Allow it to dry for 5
to 6 hours and apply second coat of Special Paint
perpendicular to the first coat.
• Subsequent putty and painting application can be
done as desired after full drying of final coat of
Special Paint.

MASONRY / PLASTER
CRACKS

Dr. Fixit Crack-X Shrinkfree

Cracks in masonry and plaster needs to be filled and
painted over. For this purpose, the crack filling material
must not shrink.

METHODOLOGY

application.
• Take care to avoid formation of cavities or bubbles
during application.
• Allow it to dry in ambient conditions for 5 to 6 hours
before painting for best results. A 7-day air curing is
advised.
• Further, apply POP or painters’ putty once it is
fully dry.
 SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO
CONCRETE REPAIR

MPB, an acrylic bonding agent, by applying it neatly
over a pre-wetted surface.
• After this dries, the cut area can be applied
with Dr. Fixit Micro Concrete or Dr. Fixit
Repair Mortar.
• After the repair mortar sets, apply Dr. Fixit
Raincoat (any choice of colour) as a waterproofing
and anti-carbonation protective coating.

Each step as indicated should be applied in accordance

with the details mentioned in the respective technical
data sheets. Dr. Fixit Raincoat is a highly elastomeric
waterproof coating for external walls, and also an
effective anti-carb coating against atmospheric
pollution. It can be applied in any colour, just like
any other external paint.
