Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?

During this field experience, I attended the 2018 ISTE Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The ISTE conference provides a plethora of workshops, sessions,
play stations, and resources that are related to educational technology. After attending several workshops, I learned that the field of educational technology is
more massive than I thought. There are many resources available and these resources can be tailored for any teacher’s classroom. I also learned that it is
important to understand the needs of your school. This is important because if you do not understand the needs of your school, you may be attend workshops
and sessions that do not address the needs of the teachers.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

As a technology leader, it is important to continually participate in professional development to stay abreast to the rapidly evolving educational technology
trends. It is also important to understand the technology needs of the school so that sessions are chosen strategically to address those needs. As a technology
leader, it is important to have the disposition of flexibility and an open mind to try new things and take risks to support your teachers to learn to also take
risks. As a leader, modeling life long learning will help the teachers you support do the same.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?

This field experience impacts faculty development directly. The sessions attended will be redelivered to the teachers for them to implement the technology
tools learned at the conference. This, in turn, will affect student learning because of the tech enriched lessons that will be provided to students that require
21st century skills.
