Abstract

This paper develops my philosophy about classroom management. How I plan to manage

my class as a future teacher to create the best environment for students to learn.

Introduction

Students learn best in positive classroom environments, in which they feel physically and

emotionally safe, feel personally connected connected to both their teacher and their peers. One

of the essentials to have a managed classroom is to have time management. There engaged time,

which is the amount of time students are paying attention and involved in learning activities.
Chapter 10 Assignment

This time is going to be the most challenging to manage. As a future teacher, I have a lot of plans

on how to deal with my classroom.

Discussion

As a future teacher, I want my students to learn in a well organized classroom and class

time. For example, if I were an English teacher, I’ll make my students read for a specific time at

the beginning of each class period. Or I can set a specific day for students to come in and talk

about the book of their choice to the class, what emotions they have or what interesting things

they learned about the characters. If I was a science teacher, I’ll have students take time to

observe things and write about it as a report. Conducting experiments on a specific day of the

week sounds fun and exciting.

Classroom management also requires that you deal with all types of students. Let’s say I

have a talkative person in class whose distracting others from the lesson. As a teacher, first I can

try shushing them in a good manner, ask them to pay attention. If they continue on, I can get my

voice little louder for him/her to feel a little embarrassed. By that, the student will feel shy fr

pointing at him and stops talking. After class is over, I would go talk to that student individually

and tell them the falsely they’ve done. That way, I can teach them manners of respecting class

time, peers and the teacher. At the same time, when I go talk to them, I’m keeping that

connection of a good teacher good student bond and not lose anyone’s love to attend my class

and be around me as their teacher.

If students misbehave non stop, I can ask them to go outside immediately during class

time. After I finish instruction, I can go talk to them outside quitely to figure out what to do

about the situation. I also plan to have a frequent parent/ guardian contact. Like sending them

emails about grades, student’s performance, etc. Keeping that contact between the teacher and

parents of the student will help inform about what the student is doing. That way students will

have higher long term achievement and be more aware of the importance of their grades. It will

develop positive attitudes and behaviors for the students and encourage them to continue further

more education.

Conclusion

Classroom management sounds to be the toughest thing a teacher have to deal with. As a

prospect teacher, I prefer to deal with misbehaviors in front of the whole class in order to teach

them good behavior and go on to talk to students individually to keep that bond and not let

anyone lose any interest in attending my class.
