1. Why do you consider it as a work of art?

I considered Sydney Opera House as a work of art and an
outstanding masterpiece as well, because of its distinctive design that
is so impressive and eye-catching. It displays human creativity.
Sydney Opera House’s sails-like structures give its unique
design and known to be the biggest free standing column in the
world. It also serves as their country’s famous landmark. A great work
of art through the use of architectural design, truly it is an art made
with the product of planning, designing and constructing the whole
structure.

2. Why do you appreciate the work? What do you appreciate

about the work?
I do appreciate Sydney Opera House for it was not just a simple
building project to construct but a work of art that will last for a
lifetime. The architectural style is Expressionist Modernism – which
involves innovative form and use of novel materials. The original time
frame to complete the project is only 4 years, but it took 14 years to
make starting March of 1959 up to September of 1973. Last thing is
that, the Sydney Opera House was the winning architectural design
made by a Danish Architect named Jørn Utzon, beating other 232
entry designs. It was not just a masterpiece but also a winning piece.

3. What do you think is the relevance of the work to your life and
society?
It makes me realized that art gives life, same as the music gives
life to my soul. Because Sydney Opera House opens a lot of
opportunities and even your five senses by witnessing live
performances that will surely entertain you and make your life worthy
to be called “life” and it also offers a wide range of employment to
other people in the society, especially those who are in the field of
music industry, and other performing arts project, it also caters those
who are into food business.

All in all, this work of art is truly an amazing one and should
last for the next generation to see.
