M-STEP Update:

Last Day of School TBA - Stay tuned Congratulations to our fifth graders who finished the M-STEP this week. They
did an awesome job staying focused and working hard to do their best. Our lower
elementary grades, who do not take the M-STEP yet, have "adopted" a class
during M-STEP testing. A huge thanks to the 2nd graders. They have been
supporting 5th graders daily with encouraging cards and treats. The kinders will

From the Gym-

We’re finishing up our bowling unit this week, BIG thanks to Hudsonville lanes for their continued support while providing such a cool opportunity for our
kids! It’s one of the student’s favorite activities year after year.

In the next month we’ll be starting our fitness testing for the K-1 students go through a less formal process testing overhand throw, catching, skipping.
Galloping and shuffling while the 2-5 will be doing the shuttle run, Pacer run, Mile run, push-up and sit-up test and the sit and reach test. These tests,
especially the mile run, can cause a little anxiety for some students. If your child gets nervous about the tests please remind them that we’ve been
working all year towards improvement. They have done the work and now they get to show off how far they’ve come. Also they need to be reminded
that all they have to do is their personal best. We don’t compare ourselves to others and all we care are about is being the best us that we can be.
Nights before PE the children should get a good night’s sleep and we need to make sure they are drinking plenty of water. The kids have been having
fun and working so hard and I can’t wait to see their progress!!

As always please get ahold of me if you have any questions or concerns about PE and don’t forget to “like” the Park Elementary Physical Education
HPS facebook page. I update and share photos and videos daily. Thank you for allowing me to work with your children this year, Park kids are the
BEST!

PLEASE VOTE TUESDAY, MAY 7
ANNUAL OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL

On May 7, Hudsonville School parents and community members will have the chance to vote on our
annual Non-Homestead Millage renewal. This is an annual renewal request that voters have approved for
the past 24 years and, if approved, would generate approximately $4.8 million dollars of operating
revenue for our school district. Please note, this is not a tax on primary residences and is not a new tax.
