The effect of guilt on the human mind

As you see first in Macbeth, he did not feel guilty about his crimes because his ambition

was bigger. Some people do not have a conscience and do not have empathy for other human

beings. In addition, the person who did wrong did it for some reason and he is not feeling the

guilt because he has all the reasons to justify the action taken at that time. Otherwise, some

people can be affected psychologically after commit a crime, since in any case the remorse ends

up winning them regardless of the severity of the situation. Just as there are people who are

affected, there is something else that does not. Macbeth is a good example to show us that we are

afraid to lose face in front of people when admitting mistakes of that level.

Macbeth was angry as the king announced that his sons were going to be kings, Macbeth

did a plan to kill the king so that he can go to the top and be king no matter nothing about King

Duncan’s family feelings, he only cared be powerful and rule the kingdom. Macbeth could not

even say “Amen” because it was something very hard to him to say. Only thing that was in his

mind was that he would not have been there if it was not for the king he would not be there in his

level like in the level that he was. This story is a good example that when people do something

extremely wrong will always feel impatience and remorse for their bad actions.

In addition, what often happens with people who shoot and kill, or even when they

commit a crime; they feel very isolated, they’re the only ones in that situation. They are the ones

who committed the act. Other people say, it is (justified), but it’s easy to feel very alone.

On the other hand, people suffer psychologically even when they are not caught, since

sometimes we are just not brave enough to yield to the fact that we are in the wrong, because it

means that the strenuous efforts we have made before make no sense or the faith we have hold

for a long time is the fact against the truth. But in effect, people suffer even when they are not

caught because they know and are aware of their bad deeds and that never leaves their

conscience undisturbed.

Therefore, Macbeth was written during the government of Queen Elizabeth I and King

James I. At that time religious thinkers in the Middle Ages had defended the idea of “The Great

Chain of Being”. This was the belief that God had designed an orderly system for nature and

humanity within which every creature and person had an assigned place. It was considered an

offense against God that someone would try to alter this position in life. However, after death,

everyone would rise in the kingdom of heaven if they respected God’s will. Since the real rank

was granted by God, it was a sin to inspire to it. This doctrine, one convenient for King James,

was still widely preserved in the days of Shakespeare.

In the 1600s, the English government was dived into two different countries. During the

time that Macbeth was written a lot of families were going into hiding because England was

separated with the “shires” and the “Normans”. The Normans replaced a sheriff named from the

14th century so that they can have peace. But the thing about this was that the king was ruled by

divine. During this time people believed that good was the one who could solve any problem that

arises

In conclusion, The Lion King and Macbeth are so similar because is the battle between

good and evil. In Macbeth this is found when King Duncan’s death is planned because of the

witches prediction about that he can claim the throne if Duncan passes away before Malcom is of

age, and in The Lion King the malicious Scar wants to get rid of Mufasa so that he can take over

the Pride Lands with the help of the hyenas before Simba is of age. In addition, evil plots are

found in both Macbeth and The Lion King. In The Lion King, Scar plots to kill Mufasa, and in

Macbeth as he plots to kill King Duncan and others in order to take over the throne and be

crowned king. Finally, in both stories the good faces off within the evil character in order to

restore all problems. For example, In Macbeth this happens when Macduff faces off against

Macbeth in order to win back the throne to the rightful heir, and in The Lion King, Simba faces

off against Scar to win back his kingdom. In conclusion, in both stories present an important part

of the battle between good and evil, resulting in the triumph of the rightful kings, restoring all

good back to the stories.
