3. Numerical relays 99-1 and 99-2 shall be connected to SCADA over Modbus. No need of DI signal
for 99-1 and 99-2 operated.
4. Trip circuit supervision relay operated – DI is not required as both trip coils healthiness signals
are separately taken already.

5. Digital Output (DO) signals shall also be considered for Breaker- ON and OFF.
6. Under/over voltage relay shall also be connected to SCADA over Modbus.
7. Numerical relay 98F shall be connected to SCADA over Modbus. No need of DI signal for 98F
operated.
8. Trip circuit supervision relay operated – DI is not required as both trip coils healthiness signals
are separately taken already.
9. 86 Master Trip relay operated signal is not required as it is same as Breaker Trip. Hence either of
the one shall be discarded in the signal list.

750KVA AUX. TR FEEDER

10. Digital Output (DO) signals shall also be considered for Breaker- ON and OFF.
11. Numerical relay 98F shall be connected to SCADA over Modbus. No need of DI signal for 98F
operated.
12. Trip circuit supervision relay operated – DI is not required as both trip coils healthiness signals
are separately taken already.
13. 86 Master Trip relay operated signal is not required as it is same as Breaker Trip. Hence either of
the one shall be discarded in the signal list.
14. Aux. Transformer Winding temperature high Alarm and Trip (2 DIs) shall be included in the
signal list.

SFC FEEDERS

15. Digital Output (DO) signals shall also be considered for Breaker- ON and OFF.
16. Numerical relay 98F shall be connected to SCADA over Modbus. No need of DI signal for 98F
operated.
17. Trip circuit supervision relay operated – DI is not required as both trip coils healthiness signals
are separately taken already.
18. 86 Master Trip relay operated signal is not required as it is same as Breaker Trip. Hence either of
the one shall be discarded in the signal list.

ISOLATOR PANEL:

19. Name of the title shall be changed as ISOLATOR PANEL instead of ISOLATION PANEL
20. Digital Output (DO) signals shall also be considered for Breaker- ON and OFF.
21. Numerical relay 98F shall be connected to SCADA over Modbus. No need of DI signal for 98F
operated.
22. Trip circuit supervision relay operated – DI is not required as both trip coils healthiness signals
are separately taken already.
23. 86 Master Trip relay operated signal is not required as it is same as Breaker Trip. Hence either of
the one shall be discarded in the signal list.

ISOLATOR PANEL OUTGOING FEEDER:

24. Digital Output (DO) signals shall also be considered for Isolator – Open and Close commands.

HOPD VALVE:

25. “Differential Pressure Indicator Switch” signal shall be discarded as “Pressure across valve
equalized” is same.
26. “Valve lock pin disengaged” signal shall be added in DI signals.
27. Following DO signals shall be added for command purposes.
a. Bypass valve open
b. Bypass valve close
c. Main valve open
d. Main valve close
e. Main valve Emergency close

EOPD VALVE:

28. Following DO signals shall be added for command purposes.

a. Valve open
b. Valve close
c. Valve stop
29. Valve stop signal shall also be included in DI signals.

MOTOR INSTRUMENTATION

30. Following analog signals shall also be included.

a. Stator air cooler common header flow transmitter input
b. Shaft seal water flow transmitter input
c. Upper bearing cooling water inlet flow transmitter input
d. Lower bearing cooling water inlet flow transmitter input
e. Pump bearing oil level transmitter input
f. Pump bearing cooling water inlet flow transmitter input
g. Forebay sump level transmitter input – 2nos.
h. Dewatering pit level transmitter input
i. Pump discharge pressure transmitter
j. Pump discharge flow transmitter input

31. Motor speed sensor input shall be analog input rather than digital input. Same shall be changed.
32. SFC to SCADA also MODBUS communication shall be provided for transmitting some signals.
BRAKE PANEL

33. Brake ON, Reset and OFF command DO signals shall also be shown
34. Some manufacturers separate Brake OFF and Brake Reset provisions, hence both shall be
provided.

EXCITATION SYSTEM

35. As the excitation system is of STATIC type “diode fail” is not applicable same shall be discarded
and following signals may be added in the signal list.
a. Thyristor fuse failed,
b. Thyristor cooling failed,
c. One bridge out of service (as generally two redundant bridges present).
d. Excitation Transformer over current – delayed
e. Excitation Transformer over current – instantaneous
f. Excitation Transformer over temperature stage-1
g. Excitation Transformer over temperature stage-2
36. As excitation ready and system ready are same one shall be discarded, As excitation fault and
system fault are same one shall be discarded. Master mode may be re-designated as Auto
Mode.

BUS PT

37. Modbus communication for voltmeter shall be discarded and shall be provided for the
Numerical relay. Voltmeter may be discarded from the list completely.

LT INCOMER, LT DG INCOMER, LT BUS COUPLER:

38. Breaker ON and OFF DO signals shall also be shown

39. MFM meter signal shall be taken as MODBUS instead of DI

SAB INCOMERS AND BUS COUPLERS:

40. Name Breaker shall be replaced with “contactor” for ON, OFF, and Trip
41. Contactor ON and OFF commands shall also be shown in DO
42. Following signals shall be discarded as not applicable
a. Breaker local/remote
b. Service position
c. Spring charged
d. DC fail
43. MFM signals shall be shown as MODBUS instead of DI

COOLING WATER PUMPS, SEAL WATER PUMPS, DWP, DRWP, FWP, FWP-JP,SERVICE WATER
PUMP,PTC PUMP, SEFL CLEANING STRAINERS, STRAINER DRAIN VALVE :

44. Pump on and off commands shall also be shown in DO signals

PAGES 10-12:
45. Instead of showing command signals (DO) separately same shall be ticked at respective DI side
itself in DO column, so as not to repeat the signal.

P&I Diagram:

1. Unit-1 Seal water input was taken prior to strainer same shall be taken after strainer.
2. Instead of draining the cooling water of outlets of coolers into maintenance bay same shall be
diverted to forebay or directly outside the pump house. So as to lessen the burden on the
dewatering pumps.
3. Cooling water pump strainers are provided on the suction side, whether the same is generally
adopted procedure or not shall be confirmed. Otherwise same shall be provided on the
discharge side of the pump.
4. Though one motor operated valve is shown in the signal list same was not shown in the P&I
Diagram.
5. Though the term MBFV was used for valves same was not listed in the legend.
