DO’s and DON’Ts - WORKING IN CONFINED SPACE.


DO’s DON’Ts

 A Competent Person must confirm safety for first entry.  Don’t enter a Confined Space without Entry Permit (CSEP).
 Drain, Wash, Dry and Purge for enough time to ensure safety  Don’t work without supervision in a confined space.

 Check and Monitor LEL % O2 ,Toxic, Asphyxiating Gas levels.  Don’t take chemicals more than needed into tank.
 Keep stand-by personnel outside each open manhole.  Don’t take gas cylinder inside confined space.
 Ensure communication with standby person always.  Don’t leave man-holes (not used) open without barrication
 When entering, a tank use a safety belt and lifeline with a free and caution boards.

 Keep record of persons entering and leaving Confined Space.
 Put up Danger tag as “CONFINED SPACE”.
 Use SCBA, if oxygen concentration is less than 19.5%.
