Dear Deventer-Maas Stiching(VDMS)

My name is Helena Danur,people usually call me Elna.Born in nggringgong in a

small village and is the mostand of-the sub-distiric in central in Manggarai Regency,I was
born on july 31,1999.And now I live in one of the boarding houses on the
jln.samratulangi,paupire Ende.With boarding rents that can be considered very expensive
for weak economic people like me. I went to the University of Flores to study here is a joy
and pride for me.I majored in Information System.My reason is because the prospect of
employment is extensive,and also the development of technology in the twonhship I am still
very far form the word modern,let along being able to operate computers,most of the school
children still have never touched a computer.Indeed in school there are ICT lessons in junoir
high school and high school but what we learnd is only the theory of junior high school
time,once we did a classroom pratice activities in typing with 10 fingers using the keyboard
that we draw on paper manila.I first operated a computer when i was in grade Xll high
school because our school held a computer –based exam that was very interesting
experience for me because it was the first time that I operate a computer device myself until
it trembled when I pressed the keyboard until I sweat,even shifting the mouse was not
enough for a small computer storage desk at the time I started thingking about being able to
conquer an object that caused me to feel scared and tramble.With a new dream that i have,I
began to realist my dream by taking the first step,which is always to open the internet to
find all things about computers that I can learn always try to directly Operate the
computer.Incidentally my sister was graduating and she had a notebook I use the notebook
to pratice and study. Even though I know I will not necessarily go to college but it does not
dispel my enthusiasm,because for me learning is very important to gain insight,and
according to me learning is not only the obligation of students,but the obligation of
everyone.

I have introduced myself personally above and also about why I chose an
information system major,now I want tell about my family, i am a youngest child(8th
child)from 8 brothers,four men and four women. All my brothers are married and 2 of my
sisters are mariried,where as one of my sister has completed education bachelor,but until
now he hasn’t got a job,he’s and economics teacher.She used to work in the cooperative
section,but only one month he worked,she have already applied in schools but there are no
vacancies.And because they are all i can here now,and i can go to college.both my parents
were farmers with elementary scool education,and now my mother is single,my father died
exactly for months before my national exam,my father died of a mild stroke disease.at first I
didn’t plan to continue my education to college due to family economic conditions
especially at that time my father has died. But praise for God I am very grateful because my
brothers want to send me to school to continue my education to the undergraduate
level,and I have promise with my myself that I will study diligently to become a student
who achievers will struggle to achieve my dreams with high fighting spirit so that later I
will be able to be useful for the country and more specifically for my beloved family.

Education history,I graduated from Catholic Elementary school Narang 1,junior high
school negeri 7 satarmese,high school negeri 1 satarmese in Manggarai District, Satarmese
sub-district and village cambir leca I am a person who really likes to organize,for me to be a
member of that cool organization to add many experiences and can add insight and my
creativity when I was in junior high school had served as student council treasurer and
scout member.when I was in junior high school I had participated in scout competitions and
teams,we won 1st place.I like scouting and I joined scouting since I was in elementary
school.when I was in high school I was also active in the OSIS activity,my position as
coordinator of English communication skills and also I attended the PERS SMANSA
organization,namely as a school journalist,since I was up to high school I always won first
place in the class,and when my junior high won the first place one school.And now I am
running the lecture procces in semester 2 as one of the information technology faculty
students majoring in information systems and with my first semester GPA of 7.74 but I am
not satisfied with my current grades,I will continue to sturggle to increase my grades in
semester next semester.

I participated in a social organization ,activity namely the local of

manggarai,PERMAI.there are a lot of activities that we do that are visiting a village to
socialize environmental cleaning as well as tree planting,we used to go to school to invite
students to plant trees and also our activities to turn garbage,cut grass around the road to
the village office and work together with many village residents,and other activities.this
activity made me able to mingle with the community and train me to always keep the
environment clean.I also joined organization OMK(YOUNG CATHOLICH).

VDMS must choose me because I am worthy and also need this scholarship and I
feel that I have fulfilled the requirements submitted by VDMI.

If I was chosen as a recipient of a VDMI Scholarship,I wished I could ease it burden

my brother who financed me for college,I can also buy books for as long as I can only
borrow it from the online library application,with a loan deadline 3 days,and it’s time for my
main target to be to buy those books and make permanently.And I can make my dreams
come true It is impossible so far,to be able to buy a laptop,because as a computer student,a
laptop is something that must be owned.and also I want to be a part from participants
leadership VDMS and also hopefully with this scholarship will increase my enthusiasm to
reach my dream become a great programmer.Amen

If I qualify as a recipient of this VDMI scholarship,I will take the opportunity to

support my lecture so that I can graduate on time(4 years).I will share the things I get both
material and knowledge,and also I will invite other students to active organized,if I
graduate from college I will apply my computer science to people in the village so that they
can understand how to operate computers especially for school children,prioritizing middle
and high school children.And also my dream is that I will make media technology as a
medium for exporting natural resources,culture,and also regional tourism domestic and
foreign countries.and I will be a programmer who can help people’s live.

As also closing word from me,I want thank you VDMI because it has made this scholarship
program,I honestly initially hoped for continuing to study in the following semesters almost
broke up because of the cost burden,when I applied for a VDMI scholarship and I was given
the opportunity to get to this round,and being able to write this letter/essay my spirit rose
again,even though later if this selection I do not qualify I will not give up I will try again
really hope I qualify for this scholarship.Amen

“The principle of my life”

I will try and give the best ablity to achieve dreams and dreams and dreams and submit the
final results in the hands of God,because I believe everything in God’s intervention must be
good,whatever it is!and I will submit the final results for my struggle to get this scholarship
to”GOD”.
